After one of the employees called me to approach the garage with my car and drive over one of their service pits, he yelled at me, and another employee started laughing. That made me very nervous. He continued being rude by shaking his head as he was guiding me, which made me even more nervous. He claimed I was about to fall into the pit. I understand that he was warning me, but he could have handled the situation better by not yelling and properly guiding me from the beginning by being more polite. 2 Reviews in One.......I went to Lube Plus Budd Lake on 11/20/18 and had the oil changed by Tyler. He quoted me my price and that was it. The manager was listed as Keith. Tyler was able to complete an oil change in 8 minutes and also work independently without the manager coming over to him at all,. He was very cordial and kind and was very happy to be working....he indicated I should have some additional services completed, but wasn't pushy at all...I told him I am not authorized to have any additional work completed on my work vehicle without speaking to the owner of the company and if the owner of company felt it was necessary to complete the work on the vehicle I would be back. He understood and left it at that. Very quick and accurate! I went back a week later on 11/27/2018 to have the recommended services completed (they did need to be done - so it's not like it was an upsale or anything - it was confirmed by a dealer technician who was working on my tires and tire sensors and they did agree that this place was cheaper not by much though) and ironically I had the same technician - Tyler. Again, was very kind and courteous for the first 10 minutes or so (was there for 45 minutes). The manager listed was Jay. Jay kept bothering Tyler so much that I was getting annoyed! He kept asking him if he asked me things that he did previously. They would talk under the hood, where I could not see them - BUT I HEARD EVERYTHING THEY WERE SAYING = STUPID! I am not too sure why this manager thought it was necessary to come over every 5 minutes and annoy everyone! If this keeps on happening I will not return. Maybe just let the employees work and do their job independently without some annoying manager pissing off the customers so much that they won't return and drive a little bit closer and pay twice at the dealer!!!!! read more

I have gone here for years with both my cars. Oil change one day last week. Then 60000 mile service at the dealer the next. Only to be told that the oil filter was leaking like a sieve. Took the pictures down to store. Asst manager "I don't have that authority" Go back 3 days later. Manager " it's up to my district manager" District manager "yes I'm calling your dealer liars, there's nothing wrong with the filter because we never saw it" So, for the sake of a $10 free oil change to keep the customer happy. I get the run around for four days, called a liar by the district manager, talked over as I'm pleading my case. So, resulting in.....I'll never be back, foolish practices lose them 2 X cars and maybe 4-6 oil changes a year. Well done lube plus, stellar business plan you have there. read more

I go for my routine car needs here because these guys are awesome and efficient. The oil change is 10 minutes however, if there is a line of cars, expect to wait on that line for 20-30 minutes. I love that they don't pressure me with additional services but merely suggest what the car needs and leaves a note with pricing on the receipt. Went to lube plus for an oil change since I couldn't get in to see my regular mechanic. I had an oil change done and everything went quick and smooth. When I finally got in to see my regular mechanic he explained to me that Lube plus never changed my oil filter (my mechanics initials were still on it) and there was a tube that had barely been connected and if it had detached would have ruined my engine. I won't make the mistake of going to Lube Plus again. read more

Don't fall for the $99 oil change. I know, I know. Most people who get suckered probably wouldn't want to admit to the world that they were suckered, but I want to warn other people. I just bought my Volvo, and I was going in for its first oil change. The dealership had put a little sticker in the window indicating when the next oil change was needed, but the sticker did not mention the type of oil needed. The tech asked me what kind of oil it used (seriously, a guy who works for an oil change place can't figure this out?), and I told him I wasn't sure. The dealership hadn't told me. Well, cash signs must have ca-chinged up in my eyes because he started going on about how my car needed a special type of synthetic oil and because of this, my oil change would be $99. I'd never had a Volvo before, and I went along with it. Fast forward a few months when I needed to put oil in the car, and I discovered the exact same oil this shyster put in my car for $7.50 at the gas station. Don't fall for this nonsense. read more

I have no complaints, the tech who I had was Chris. He seemed like a decent person, he was honest with me. From what I saw, he checked with his manager to see if he was doing everything correct before moving on to the next task. Promo did say 10 mins but I would rather you take your time and make no mistakes. This place is cheaper than J***y Lube but more expensive than if you do the oil change yourself. He did try to upsell me with the air filter but ehhh it was only $20 more and I was too lazy to do it myself lol. I would do the oil change myself but I needed to change my filter too and last time it was a b**ch to take off, felt lazy today. During a routine oil change on 11/12/2015, the serviceman working on my vehicle at the Lube Plus in Budd Lake NJ, tried to convince me to pay for an additional $250 transmission service on my vehicle. After saying "no thank you" for the 2nd and 3rd time, the serviceman told me i had made a terrible decision. As I pulled out of the station, with my 2 young children in the vehicle, the "service engine soon" light immediately turned on. Feeling intimidated by the Lube Plus serviceman, I decided to take my vehicle back to the dealership to check on my "service engine soon" light. I explained the coincidental timing with the light turning on after leaving Lube Plus. After a diagnostic check, the mechanic at my dealership called me back in shock as he told me that the wire from the temperature sensor had been manually disconnected. Do know that you have lost my business and any type of credibility as what i thought was an upstanding local business. I come to your station for an oil change. I was shunned when i didn't agree to the $250 transmission service, and then i drive home in fear as I was told I had made a mistake. The fact that you, Lube Plus of Budd Lake, took advantage of woman with young children in the car...by intimidating her in hopes to pay for services on top of what she requested and then scaring her into thinking her vehicle was unsafe to drive is simply unacceptable. I went in to get an oil change and the technician told me that my transmission fluid was dirty and needed to be changed. I declined as I just had my transmission fluid changed in August by my mechanic. There is absolutely no way that I need to have my transmission fluid done again. Took my car to this establishment for an oil change. The mechanic claimed to have changed my oil but came over to show me dark and dirty oil after the change. He claimed that I need an engine flush amongst other things (totaling to approx. $200). Something smelled fishy and I checked in with an auto mechanic friend of mine who told me that these guys never actually changed my oil and were trying to rip me off. Luckily I never got the services they recommended. I will absolutely not go back to this dishonest establishment, and I would absolutely not recommend it to anyone else!!!!!! Stay away. read more

Lube Plus totally took advantage of my 79 year old grandmother. They insisted on having her transmission flushed when it never had been. It's a 12 year old car. Changing the fluid when it's never been changed before destroys the car. They should have known better. I have a 2012 Ford Fusion, I needed a quick oil change and it was wintery out. Went to get synthetic oil change at 44k Jan 2019. After the oil change, the light still said it needed oil change. I didn't like much of it. They didn't reset my oil, kept saying oil change needed and required later engine light went on April 24th. I looked at my oil stick and it was dark and not clear and also low on the stick as if it wasn't filled or they didn't change it, it only had it 2k miles. I called the Lube Plus and spoke the manager and told him about it, he didn't do anything, he thought it was strange. He didn't say much or didn't care?! He just said it's too late. Too late? I told him how they didn't reset the oil and I didn't check, told him that the stick is dark like wasn't changed or wasn't filled??..or didn't use synthetic which should last 6,000 miles. I should've look to see if they changed the oil, a friend of mine said they used cheap oil and charged me synthetic which is a lot of money!! My car light engine went on and said it needed the oil change after 2k miles??!!! I think they should've look at my car since I paid $80 and the oil is dark!! The workers there have horrible customer service and unprofessional! I had stuck to my intuition because I didn't hear a lot of sound like the oil being changed!!! I bet they are not real technicians, just a cheap place that charges way over for crappy service!! I hope this warns others they are scammers!! They don't have trustworthy business or use cheap oil!! Reported them to BBB they scammed me on a oil change.
