She acts rude and is extremely hostile. It takes multiple weeks to schedule lessons or tests. Her test grading policy is absurd and she takes points off for things that would not be tested at the DPS if she feels that she doesn't like the student. She acts passive aggressive at best and will be very angry if you forget any random acronym. She also quotes her teaching style from Texas Law, but fails to provide proof of such rules when asked. She has no compassion whatsoever and often boasts of her own achievements, putting me down. She spoke of her own academic performance in high school and when she asked about mine, she seemingly got jealous and changed topics instantly. Mind you, this is an elderly woman picking a fight with a teenager. According to yelp, it seems that this business has closed, but I assure you, its just a way to make it look better before more people speak of its horrors.

We have a freshly licensed driver and we could not be more happy with the way Driver Trainers…read moretrained him! I STRONGLY recommend the "classroom" drivers ed over the on-line version: 1) I don't know a kid in the world who thinks their parents know what they're talking about 100% of the time; but, a "teacher?" They'll listen to a teacher. 2) He came back from class and would tell me little things as I was driving that made me think, "Huh. I never would have thought to tell you that;" 3) I have friends who have told me how their kids hack the internet system by rigging the button to keep the videos rolling - I don't know about you, but I actually WANT my kid to learn this stuff! 4) I have two friends whose kids have already had a wreck or scary near-misses after self-taught training. I can honestly say I get in the car with my son and think, "You're a really good driver." Signing up for instructor driving times was no big deal at all. Plenty of times available. We only ran into one hitch when we randomly got kicked out of the parent drive hours logging system. But, we popped into the office and they fixed it immediately. He was able to take his drivers test on his actual birthday which was A SATURDAY. And, rumor has it that there's a six week wait list to take a driving test with a DPS officer at the DMV. It doesn't make it any easier to watch my baby roll out of the driveway in a car alone. But, I am certain that, thanks to Driver Trainers, I am as confident about it as I could possibly be.

This is a review on the Lubbock Tx yard. This by no means is a review of the whole 160 Driving…read moreAcademy. I wasn't aware that this was a self taught CDL academy until I was notified after being kicked off the yard for exceeding my hours. So they take your money, do the whole "dog and pony show" then tell you afterwards that it's self taught and to watch videos on YouTube. The lead instructor has you stay on the yard even if you don't do anything. He has you stay just to be able to justify falsifying your hours. I learned afterwards that your hours are logged no matter what. So if you do or don't do maneuvers, pre-trip, coupling or in-cab it is logged that you did. 2 of the instructors never came out of conex. They would sit in conex and never come out to teach anything or any type of demonstration. The only thing that management was good at was making sure there was enough fuel for generator to keep connex cold enough for him to sit in all day. Eddie Muniz, I would like to thank you for your time and effort to make sure that I had an understanding of what I was learning. There were 3 instructors on the yard and you were the only one that was willing to make sure everyone was learning. I do appreciate the time you spent working with me. Cause of your willingness to be an instructor that cares I was able to pass my CDL test. Thank you Eddie. Keep up the great work that you do your efforts will pay off in the end. Thank You, Pedro S. Herrera
