I will never use this company again. Kid came out and dug a few minutes broke two shovels and was not prepared to complete the job. Had no firing to repair a broken water line and I ended up sending him away and doing the job I less than an hour myself. But I guess if you know you are on overtime you can milk it for what you can. read more

Overcharged, rude office worker, did not complete repair. I was assigned this company by American Home Shield. Was told it would cost $150, but the plumber charged me $250. They said the line was cleared of the blockage, (this was their FOURTH attempt) but after the plumber left the blockage was still there, completely unchanged! I called the office and the woman I spoke with the rudest and most unprofessional person I have ever spoken with. She claimed that she couldn't know what their plumber told me. She yelled at me over the phone, repeatedly interrupted me when I tried to speak and blamed me for the problem. I put a stop payment on fee. I will never use this company again. We had only owned the home a couple of months before discovering a collapsed line that needed to be replaced. A-1 was sent out and recommended by our home warranty. They fixed the line, but they caused another problem we must deal with: removing caliche dug up from A-1's trench, add new topsoil, and level/grade the yard. A-1 dug a 90 foot trench across the yard to fix the line. The depth of the line forced them to dig deep. In the process, they dug up the caliche beneath the topsoil. They didn't bother even attempting to fill the trench in a way that would benefit us afterward. They simply used their tractor to "level" the trench. Half the yard, even parts not involved with the line, were completely covered in rocky gravel. When I complained, the master plumber merely stated, "the plumbing will last 70 years" and "it'll level off". Right now, I'm using a shovel and a sifter to remove all large rock chunks with a wheelbarrow. Afterward, we are paying someone to bring in topsoil and to level/grade. Needed to have shower handle replaced. After 4 visits from A-1 who could never get it right, I am calling another. My Rheem water heater went out while under warranty. A-1 replaced it with a cheaper brand and left mud all over the floor and walls, broke hooks on the wall, and generally left everything filthy. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Water heater went out while I was out of town. They took advantage of my wife! Over charged us you service that was covered by home warranty program. $150 for pan, $60 under code charge ( what ever that is) $50 disposal when I had them leave the old water heater. To make matters worse they destroyed my door and refused to fix it. Told my wife we would have to turn it in on our home insurance. I stopped payment on the $285 check. I paid the deposit fee from the home warranty company, guy came out took a picture and said he needed to see what the warranty would cover and call back. I had to call several times over several days to get ahold of someone just to be told they need to find out what is going on themselves. American Home Warranty and A1 Plumbing are two companies to avoid. read more

Terrible customer service! We were forced to deal with this plumber because of our warranty company. They received the authorization for service from our warranty company the same day we called in the service and told us they would try to squeeze us in before the end of the day so we could have hot water for my 70 year old mother to take a shower at night if they received the authorization before 5 pm. I notified with them, the next day, that it was received by their office at 4:50 pm by Emily. But they did not pass it along to their tech, Josh, and he did not call them to check. When I confronted them about this the next day, their response was to demand full payment of $545 before they would complete the work installing the new water heater. This was for Code Modifications and Suggested Upgrades that were not covered by the warranty. When I questioned Josh about this practice he said it was because I had called the office to complain and that I had reported the techs for leaving my home with parts of my existing water heater. I offered to pay them half and the remainder after the job was completed satisfactorily. Josh refused to accept and stated his office demanded full payment even though they left my current system disconnected. I again offered them $345 upfront with the remainder paid when the work was completed. They refused and drove off with the new water heater in the back of their truck. I would highly recommend you stay away from this company and any other that asks for full payment upfront. I will definitely not be using A1 Plumber of Lubbock for any of my home or business services. read more

We were provided this contractor through a home warranty due to a plumbing backup in our home. We had several different very nice guys show up on various occasions, and each time they snaked one of two clean outs in our home. We have 5 in all. We requested a quote for installation of a sewage ejector pump twice, hoping that would help the issue, but did not receive any response to this. I also left a message saying we needed a resolution, and if necessary, what we needed to pay out of pocket. After the 4th or 5th time out, our home warranty company was told there was something improperly installed (don't know what), and the coverage didn't include that. The only way I found this out was to find out why we didn't have another appointment set to do the repair. I indicated we did have coverage for that, and the repair was approved, pending a bid. An appointment was setup, but no one called or showed up. I again called the home warranty company, and they again reached out to the contractor. They now said that it wasn't normal wear and tear. As an older more or less retired couple, I would love to know what we are doing that is not normal wear and tear. We haven't been told of a foreign object in the lines. After more than a month of not flushing regularly, very short or nonexistent showers, no dishwasher use, and during Covid, my patience has long since ended. read more

I was quoted a job through this company. I have used them before and had no prior issues. When I received the written quote it was substantially more than was originally quoted. When I called about it I was laughed at and told that Mike was a stand up guy, that he would never tell me a different amount amount and that I misunderstood. They made me feel like I was at fault. That I misheard. I think I would have hear such a difference in pricing. They made me feel low. Like I did not matter. Like my services did not matter to them. Even recommended that I find someone else to do the work. I asked if they could break down the estimate for me so I could see where the addition amount would be going towards and they said that they would not do that. That is was by the job not broken down. I don't understand how a job can be quoted and estimated if it is not broken down? How do they know what everything will cost? Just throwing numbers out there with nothing to back it up with. I gave never received a quote in my life that could not be broken down and also being laughed at for asking was cruel. I understand that Mike is a good guy. He is perfect. Has never made a mistake. But he is human. Everyone makes mistakes. Instead of owning up to that mistake and apologizing I was the one blamed. Bad Customer Service. The person who came out was rude and lied on the insurance report. He was unable to determine why water was leaking from the bath tub into our ceiling on the first trip- he said there was no leak. When water started dripping through the ceiling again, he came back out, but made it sound like all bathtubs had this issue and there was nothing to fix, when in reality, if that was the case, every single bathtub in America would leak every time someone filled it up to the vent level. If I could give this company less than one star, I would. A-1 was assigned our American Home Shield service call. The service tech did not solve our problem while at our house and was supposed to get back to me after talking to his office. There was no follow-up, even after I called their office twice. Brittany at the office argued with me when I told her that the technician didn't physically fix anything with our plumbing. Evidently, they told AHS they completed work that they didn't. I was yelled at, cursed at, hung up on twice. The service man was very rude, very mean with an anger problem. He knew what he was doing, but a customer should never be treated like I was. Do not use these guys. Poor customer service and follow through. we needed a valve for our shower covered under a home warranty. It took multiple visits and delays to have it fixed. I had to follow up with them instead of those people being proactive and customer service oriented. When they did come out the final time attitudes were present. Do not call these " people ". Flat rate scam. Had a plumbing problem that would have taken four hours max. $1900.00!! Told this guy I knew this wouldn't take more than four hours. His reply " well something else could go wrong" . So it probably wouldn't, but go ahead and charge me for it anyway! Also " no one else in this town will do it cheaper ". This was the absolute worst plumbing service I have ever had. The "plumbers " showed up in an unmarked truck with T shirts stating their company. They brought in a hand full of tools and looked at my 2 jobs. On job 1 they needed to change a valve. They did not have it and left to find one for over an hour. Came back and it did not work. They put the old leaky valve back in. On job number 2 they tightened the nut under the faucet valve and the proceeded to make my $879.00 Brizo Rook faucet leak. They turned off the water and said they would file a claim to replace the faucet with a "contractor grade faucet" then they left. I said there is no way they would replace a top end faucet with a contractor grade, low end faucet. There has been no resolution. I will now have to hire a real qualified plumber to fix what they not only broke but could not fix. I will not let this company back in my house. read more

Had them sent to my house by my insurance to find the location of a leak I had. The plumber showed up for 15 minutes looked at some pipes and concluded it was my shower pan. I then went through my other insurance company who sent there own plumber. This plumber did his job cut a piece of drywall and located the leak. So i called back the other insurance and and explained what happened and they said they would send out there senior technician to fix it. Well the senior technician they sent out was the same guy who said it was the shower pan.He said he fixed the pipe but of course there was still a leak in the same spot after he left. Do not get them to do any work on your house. I called the insurance and they tried to send out the same company but this time a senior technician. First of all, if i could leave NO STARS i would! We were recommend this company by insurance as a provider, they are AWFUL AND UNPROFESSIONAL. The young man who came out clearly was lost and confused, he wondered around our house aimlessly and spent more time sitting in his truck than anything. His story changed multiple times, and he was not helpful. He insisted he went through our man holes, which he did not and basically gave us no information that we didn't already know. The company came to my home to fix leaking toilets more than 2 weeks ago and I informed them that the toilets are still leaking a few days later. This guy is very mean. Call him at 11 pm for an emergency water leaking at my house. He said it better be emergency and said he is not happy about it. He hang up on me. It is very bad customer service. When he come, he said one side is caulk up and said it is not an emergency and bill me $300 and service fee. He said he will have to come back but he said he would decline the service and said I need a ground level clean out before he can get the problem fix. It another 500 or 600 on top of that.
