I was 6 months pregnant (now 8) when I reached out to him to help sell my mother's home.. There were a few extra steps that needed to be done (city permit related), and Jon handled ALL with Simplicity and Ease.. atleast that's how I saw it, because he just handled it, without ever making me feel concerned.. We closed in a good time frame, and I feel we also got Top Dollar on the price! Jon and Kathy are very pleasant to work with, always happy, energetic and positive.. I am a first time mother, and outside of the selling process, they gave me such love and encouragement.. Jon and Kathy are definitely Heaven Sent, they genuinely love and want to help their clients be happy.. I felt this during the Entire process.. No stress at all.. They are very knowledgeable of the area, and they also live in Laguna Woods. My journey started back in June 2023 when I took the LW bus tour with some friends to see the entire community. The tour provided a general overview and impression of the community, the beautiful grounds and the amenities. The part that was missing from the LW bus tour was information about the business details, how it all worked and the next steps to learn about a property. The tour guide suggested that I find a relator to help me learn about the leasing and buying process. I found Jon and Kathy Wallin after reading their yelp reviews. I called Jon and he suggested I come for a visit. In September 2023, Jon and Kathy gave me a personal tour and showed me a few properties and the community. It provided a great opportunity to learn, ask questions about co-ops and the real estate process. I really enjoyed the tour and knew then I would seriously consider moving to Laguna Woods in 2024. Jon and Kathy kept in touch with me for the months after the tour to see if I needed anymore information during this time. June 2024, I decided to sell my home in Los Angeles and start planning a move to Laguna Woods. Jon and Kathy helped me find a place to rent for a 3 to 4 months while I looked for a place to buy. This proved to be a huge advantage to live there and learn about the different neighborhoods and look at properties. November 2024, I moved to a rental and started looking to buy. January 2024, I purchased a home and closed end of February Jon and Kathy were invaluable during the entire real estate transaction, inspection and HOA process to make this as seamless as possible. They are professional and so generous with their time, and I couldn't have navigated the process without all their support and kindness. I highly recommend Jon and Kathy Wallin to help you to find a home in Laguna Woods.

Correa). It is not a statement of undisputed fact, does not allege criminal conduct, and is shared solely for consumer awareness and due-diligence purposes. In my opinion, based on the documents and communications involved in Tyson v. Correa, serious concerns arose regarding the professional handling of escrow by Olivia Mercer during a real-estate transaction that ultimately did not lawfully close. From my perspective, escrow proceeded in a manner that did not adequately address fundamental issues affecting the validity of the transaction. Throughout the process, escrow communications and document processing continued despite unresolved questions regarding legal authority. The individual induced to sign transaction documents was not the lawful trustee and did not have verified authority to sell or convey the property. In my view, this was a material issue that warranted suspension of escrow activity until clarified. Instead, the transaction appeared to continue as though it were routine, despite these unresolved inconsistencies. There were multiple warning signs that, in my opinion, should have prompted escalation or a pause in escrow, including conflicting trustee information, inconsistent instructions, and communications that treated a known tenant as if they had authority to act on behalf of a trust. Based on my review of the records, these issues were not clearly resolved before escrow activity proceeded further. It is my understanding that escrow officers are expected to act as neutral parties and to refrain from facilitating transactions when documents are facially inconsistent or legally unclear. In this situation, I believe escrow should have required verification, clarification, or withdrawal rather than continuing forward under uncertainty. Allowing the process to proceed under these circumstances, in my opinion, exposed all parties to unnecessary legal and financial risk. I am sharing this experience to encourage buyers and sellers to protect themselves. Do not assume that escrow, title, or agents have independently verified authority simply because documents are circulating or deadlines are approaching. Independently confirm ownership, trustee authority, and escrow instructions, particularly in trust-related transactions. If anything does not make sense, stop the process and seek independent advice. This review is offered as a cautionary perspective so others understand the importance of due diligence and active oversight in real-estate transactions.

As a Realtor myself in Arizona, I am well aware of the significance of the Escrow Agent/Officer and…read moretheir role in keeping all parties informed (both the Seller and Buyer) during the entire purchasing transaction. I recently closed on a property in Laguna Woods, California and had the worst experience with Corner Escrow agency. They were horrible in keeping everyone informed through the process and even responding to emails. As the Seller, I had a few questions with the closing statement and contacted the Escrow Officer, Crysten Perez, and when I called she was incredibly rude and curt on the phone. She could barely end her sentence before I already heard a "click". I then emailed the "team" and eventually did get a response from Stacey Cope who explained/answered my questions. We apparently closed at 4pm, however, NO ONE from Corner Escrow informed me, the Seller (in AZ this is REQUIRED for the Escrow Officer to notify all parties). I had to inquire to the "team email" and THEN I finally get a response from a sub-agent at 7:48pm that we did, in fact, close at 4pm. Even at that point, Corner Escrow did not respond to the "team" email. In fact, upon closing, they have not responded to ANY of my emails. What kind of an escrow company is this? I had to ask if the funds have been wired (imagine if they were waiting for my wiring of funds - I bet they would be communicating with ME). I never received notification that the funds were wired, successfully sent, literally no communication unless I initiated it ... N-O-T-H-I- N-G. I had to go to my bank and check in order to find out that the funds were wired. If I've learned anything, I feel Corner Escrow does not follow their legal duties and professional standards at least to the Seller and they certainly do not abide by the Escrow Law which states that they are required to notify ALL parties of pertinent information ... the fact that escrow has closed, I would think, is pertinent information (?) The status of funds being wired to the Seller, I would also think, would be pertinent information. Their communications skills are zip and when purchasing/selling property, that is not what I want. I would advise that you choose your escrow officer wisely and find a more professional, courteous and trusting escrow company for the sale and/or purchase of your valuable property and STAY AWAY from CORNER ESCROW.
