Through Pep Boys Roadside Assistance, I scheduled for Milstead Automotive to tow my car and was…read moregiven an arrival time of 5:45-6:15 pm. I called Milstead around 6:20 pm because the online portal did not show that the status of my service had been updated to show that the tow truck was in route or that the truck had already picked up my vehicle. I was told by a Milstead employee that their drivers were behind because of traffic and could not arrive before 7 pm. This was going to be a problem because the business my vehicle was at closed at 7 pm. The employee said that she could reschedule my service for 8 am the next day and I agreed to that. For the original service request, I spoke to a Milstead employee at 4:24 pm to confirm that they had received my request and it was confirmed. No one from Milstead contacted me to say that they were not going to be able to adhere to their arrival time. The next day, I called Milstead around 8:15 am to see if my car had been picked up and the employee said that my service had been set for 10-11 am and could not be moved to a sooner time. I let the employee know about my situation from the previous day and she said there was no documentation that my tow service was rescheduled for 8 am that day. I canceled my service with Milstead because they pushed back their arrival time twice without updating me that they would be doing so.

I really appreciate that they gave me different options on ways to save money on parts (OEM vs aftermarket) for my repair since I was a cash paying customer. I got a quote from Caliber Collision and the price difference was shocking! As it turns out Milstead is a much better equipped body shop because they had the technicians and equipment on hand and did not need to hire anyone out to do recalibrations for the sensors on my bumper which that alone saved me $400-600. To top it off they offered a courtesy car wash and interior vacuum which I wasn't at all expecting. Thank you Milstead for going totally out of your way to serve your customer. I got into a fender bender mid-day Thursday, and originally wanted my car towed home because I am…read more18 and was alone at the scene. I was swayed by Conroe PD to have it towed instead by this wrecker company/body shop because it would supposedly be more "convenient" and "cheaper." I was not even given the card of where my car was going until I asked multiple times. On Thursday we called Tommy's Paint and Body and a woman answered, took our email address, and said they would look at it and reach back out with a quote. Friday morning we called and they had still not looked at the car, so we assumed they were busy. She again said they would get back to us. We called later in the day and she said they would look at it "now." We called for a third time Friday and a man answered saying he didn't know anything about it, they were closed, and we would have to wait until Monday. Meanwhile, the lot fees were $22.85 a day, plus a $20 impound fee even though we were led to believe it was not being impounded, a $50 "storage notification fee" even though WE were the ones repeatedly calling THEM, and on top of the $200 tow fee there was also a $35 fuel charge. We let them know Thursday that this would not be covered by insurance and we needed a quote on making it drivable and fully fixed as well. Then Monday we were just now informed that moving my car from the impound lot next door into the actual body shop would not even be an option until we came in person to pay the impound fees first, and that they do not allow over-the-phone payment. If these fees and requirements had been disclosed Thursday, we would not have left the car sitting there for days while nobody even looked at it. At that point it felt very obvious they were more interested in charging lot/storage fees than actually helping customers. They did not disclose certain fees up front, or that we would have to come in person with cash or money order just to have it looked at or to tow it elsewhere. We ended up towing it to a different shop. I let them know my issues with the service and they showed zero concern nor apologetic. Terrible communication and terrible service.

This is illegal in the state of Texas. We called during open business hours (around 1:50something pm) but were called back and told by Steven McKay he would be going into a meeting and no one would be available to assist us to get the car back. So we waited for him to contact us after his meeting before ubering there. He contacted my mom after the posted business hours to the facility itself around 7pm letting her know we could come. We ordered the Uber, had to withdrawal cash and she received two calls rushing her on the way there. When we arrived to the location given the business was closed, Steven and his family were pulled up in a car in the parking lot and did the entire transaction outside of the facility in the rain while we got soaked until he opened his trunk and had us stand under it. I still was getting soaked but at least my mom was covered. He refused to make any change for our transaction stating he had no way to provide change so we had to pay over the stated price to pay the total amount and received no receipt of transaction what so ever, at no point did he offer us any way of knowing exactly what we were being charged $271.12 for. Thankfully I had a couple dollars to give my mom or she would have had to pay him $18 and some change over instead of almost a dollar over. But when he thought she'd have to give him a full $20 for $1.12 missing he stayed firm in that he could not give change and would have to take the overcharge. He did accept the almost $1 overcharge and still provided no change. This is illegal. Then we were asked to walk around the corner and across the street in the rain to where her car was locked up. And finally given back the car. I will be taking this up with Conroe PD and bringing to light the predatory towing going on here. We were told this facility is 24 hours by both Conroe PD and Steven McKay. So having to wait 5 hours before being allowed to come due to him having a meeting was illegal as well. Contacting Conroe PD and my attorney first thing tomorrow morning. I also noticed a response from this company to another review on google where they stated Conroe PD sets a $200 tow price and that shouldn't raise before 24 hrs. My mother was quoted over $200 just hours after her car was impounded.

This past weekend my step-daughter and I faced an extremely difficult situation. We hydroplaned on…read moreI-35 southbound heading down to Texas to pick-up several horses (so we had an empty trailer and were driving a dually 3500). Our truck came out of things fine, but the trailer was banged up pretty badly and was not road worthy. I called my insurance agent who assigned me to Aggressive Towing and our driver Jimmy. While en route to pick us up, Highway Patrol came upon us and began yelling at my daughter and myself to remove our vehicle off the highway immediately. Keep in mind our trailer was not moveable and we were clearly not on the highway in any capacity. Highway patrol then ordered me to cancel my tow and told me I must use their company (who was not part of my insurance) to remove my trailer. They hung up on Jimmy who tried to explain he was almost to my location to come help me. Rather than abandon my daughter and myself, Jimmy kept coming and arrived on site at 12:19. Highway Patrol refused to let him assist me and ordered him to leave. Jimmy refused to abandon us, even when threatened with arrest for continuing to persist. He left, but called me right away and told me he would be waiting for me one exit up. He instructed me to have the wrecker that Highway Patrol forced upon me to drive my trailer to him and make an exchange there. Highway Patrol continued to harass my daughter and I and forced us to use their rig. They had sent out two rigs (one which was used for hauling off semi trucks) and shut down the entire highway to remove just my trailer (again, it was not blocking traffic and was not on the highway). The wrecker they forced upon us took me up to Jimmy one exit up and then charged me $243 for the 5 minute trip because two wrecking vehicles were involved. Jimmy staid with us the entire time and kindly kept his cool to make sure my daughter and I were safe. Jimmy deserves so much respect and I am so grateful for his presence in such a difficult time. I STRONGLY recommend using this company (And sincerely hope that Jimmy is recognized for his efforts to keep us safe despite Highway Patrol).

Called one company and they were honest and told me they couldn't do it. Called this company and they were like "sure, no problem ". Gave me a price and I told that is fine, let's get it done. They told me they were probably 30-45 minutes away from me. So I had somebody from home head that way to pick me up because I still had a little bit of work to do and I really didn't want to ride for 2-1/2 hrs in a tow truck. Long story shortened a little. After a little over 4 hours of being told there almost there, we're right around the corner, and so on, (my stupidity for letting it go on that long) I finally called another company and they were there in less than 15 minutes, nice, polite, and professional.
