Dye Lumber also orders in the unique panels, in a variety of colors, that look like the decorative tin ceilings that were used in old buildings. They figured my square footage exactly--I did my small bathroom ceiling, a small hall ceiling & my front porch ceiling in the copper color with a little scrap cut-offs left. It looks better than I imagined--like the real tin! If anyone wants to see my photos, I'll be glad to send them!

Hi folks! *wave* It's very handy to be fixing up an old house and have a hardware store so close. We've bought paint, electrical stuff, plumbing stuff, gardening stuff, and more from them. They have a little bit of everything, although if you want specific brands, or if they don't carry a random specific widget you need, you'll have to go into town. For example, if you want any lumber, they don't have it, which is pretty frustrating since going into town for lumber requires renting a truck, but if they sold it, we could just walk it home. My one kvetch is their hours. Specifically, they don't seem to keep to them. They're guaranteed to be closed on holidays and during the Apple Popcorn Festival (generally, the festival plus a few days before and after). However, sometimes they close on a random day that isn't a holiday, so we end up having to go into town anyway. They also tend to be a little more expensive than some of the big box hardware stores, but we look at that as paying for convenience.

Went back to get reimbursed my 50% discount and the owner said he wouldn't issue me the reimbursement even though the sale was in effect when I bought them. He stated he had no intention of telling me about the sale when I was initially in the store because he has to control costs. He waited until I had checked out and left the store before he made the post on Facebook just minutes later. Very disappointing being ripped off by a small business like this.
