Working on a remodel here and some packaged items were out of their 90 day return policy so a kind person told us that with a credit card will be able to return things for a year so we applied for a credit card and return those items the next day we had a few other items never opened, in package, and are now told we can't return them because they're out of 90 day warranty. They said the card didn't matter although the previous day we were told it allowed us to return for 365 days. It would've been nice to have them explain the policy clearly Because now we're stuck with $150 worth of fixtures....not helpful at all. Just simple no.. the College Rd. Melissa in Appliances is our absolute favorite! Recently, my boyfriend and I moved to town and could not have felt more welcomed by the team at this Lowes. Melissa helped us pick out some new kitchen countertops and was very helpful in giving insight to the process and what we should expect. Today, July 23, 2023, I made a trip to my local Lowes store, (Store number 2982), to buy an item that showed to be in stock, with 7 of these items available. However, after checking the aisle and bay that the online listing directed me to, I found the item wasn't there. I first tried to find help from someone in the department but only a cashier was there with a line of people. I went to Customer Service and was told to wait and someone would help me. No one showed up. I went back to adjacent aisles where the item should be, hoping maybe the item had been moved, but no luck. I returned to Customer Service and asked to see a manager so I could find out if the item was actually in stock and maybe just misplaced. The manager sent an employee to conduct a search, who also could not find the item. Lowes needs to do a better job maintaining the location of its inventory, do a quality control check on its online information and put people in management that have the ability to manage. I think it is ridiculous that this situation happened with no apologies or anyone at the store working to correct it. My time and expense for making the trip to Lowes was wasted. read more

I've never been a huge fan of the Lowes brand and generally try to shop local hardware and garden stores for better prices/products. This location, however, pleasantly surprised me with great prices, a huge selection and genuine customer service. I ventured in over Memorial Day weekend, which is typically the busiest weekend in Wilmington, and the store was definitely packed but they kept things peaceful and orderly. I had multiple questions for different employees throughout my visit and all were kind, patient and dedicated to helping me find what I needed. Their Spring, indoor and outdoor, plants section was massive! All the plants looked pretty healthy and the prices were just reasonable enough to make you buy more than what you came for. I.E. I came for roach spray and thin planter buckets, and left with those plus two new plants and a variety of fun grilling supplies I couldn't even find on Amazon. I almost bought a patio set too, as they were all so beautiful and surprisingly affordable for high quality materials! I definitely recommend this Lowes over the other locations in Wilmington and beyond. They have a massive selection, huge parking lot, a Chic Fil A next door and Walmart Supercenter is across the parking lot - real one stop shop kind of plaza. I might have gotten lucky with the low pricing and mass selection due to Memorial Day weekend, but the customer service and overall experience made it a place I would recommend, holiday weekend or not. read more

i recently needed a new refrigerator went to Lowes and the associate was great! Helpful and friendly. We purchase a lot of home improvement products as well as out door items. The refrigerator was delivered and it was too big for the spot we have to put it in. Delivery guys were also very nice and they just took back the big one and put our broken one back in place. The following Sunday went back and had to order one to fit our space. Again the associate was very vert helpful had to go through a lot of models to find a 33 inch that would fit. I am very pleased with the service we receive from Lowes Wilmington. I called and spoke to customer service just to make them aware we had to send back the one that did not fit. She was very pleasant and noted my account. Two days later i received voice message that my original purchase will be credited to my account and it has been. Fine Lowes if you're just going to browse. However, if you're trying to get a quote (specifically for me) on flooring installation, it's not worth the time and aggravation. My husband had tried to call to schedule several times and no one in flooring even picked up. This should have been our first red flag. Then I went online to schedule someone to come out and meaure. They charge you $37 for this, which was interesting but we were on a time crunch so sure, I'll pay. Guy came out the next day to measure and my husband said he was creepy and took a long time. Hey, at least he did what he said he'd do. Then I get an email saying we needed to go into the store to pick out our product. I knew exactly what we wanted and went to the store the next day to pick it out, pay, and schedule an installation. I'm basically begging them to take my money. I waited a half hour plus with my infant son and was finally told that I needed to call Lowe's main number to "get the online quote connected to the store". I don't know what kind of ridiculous system Lowe's is running, but sure, I'll play along. I call the next day and spend 30 minutes with a customer rep, waiting 25+ minutes to get connected to someone at the VERY SAME STORE I WAS AT IN PERSON THE DAY BEFORE. We talk, I explain the situation for the third time, they get a "folder started" for me. I'm told I can expect an email with my quote the next day. Two days go by. I call again and ask what's going on with my quote. The girl who picks up in flooring tells me, "I'll try my hardest to get it to you by tonight" and asks for my email address. Do I think I'm going to get a quote anytime? Nope. Do I feel like Lowe's just scammed me out of $37 and a whole lot of my time, effort, and energy? Yup. Super disappointed in this store. I spent 45 minutes shopping for hinges, paint, different 4 different types of lumber caulk etc. I rolled my cart up to the contractor checkout. I moved it to the side and told the cashier i had to grab one more item. I didn't want to push huge cart around store. 10 minutes later I went to check out and my cart was gone. They have not many people working in store but they have enough to have someone start putting all my items back before I could purchase them. I went to customer service their term not mine to tell them about it. The manager came out I told him what happened basically I would have to start shopping all over again. No customer service, no talent or knowledge. I do not recommend this Lowes store and will not shop there again. read more

I would not reccomend working there if you are a single parent. I was recently fired due to calling in when my kids were sick and couldn't go to daycare or school. I'm a single mother with no family here in Wilmington, so I have no help when they get sick. Not to mention when I was 8 months pregnant I was working under their canopy in the garden area when it was 92 degrees out. I went to three different mangers to get moved and no one would move me. I ended up passing out due to dehydration and heat exhaustion and was forced to take an early maternity leave with no pay. BUYER BEWARE APPLIANCE PUCHASE If it would allow me to give 0 stars that what Lowe's Porters Neck Wilmington NC rating would be. I purchased a LG range at the store on 10/6 and paid cash with a delivery date of 10/12. On 10/12 they didn't show up or call. So at 5:00 I called and found out that they had me down for 10/22. Problem was that I had already moved my stove out of the house (it wasn't working properly). So after speaking to Allison the assistant manager she agreed to have a different stove that she said was better than the one I purchased delivered the following day. On the 13th Lowe's picked up my old stove and delivered a THOR. It was nice except one of its burners didn't work. Also it didn't have a preheat notification of any kind and it wasn't a self clean oven. The 14th we went to the store in person and I told Allison that I appreciated her help but I just wanted what I paid for. She said they had to pick up the THOR and have it back at the store so that they could purchase the stove I wanted. I don't understand this since I already paid for the LG. But ok. She said the LG would be delivered the 16th or 17th. They came and got the THOR on the 15th. On the 16th I never received a call from Lowe's about the delivery so I called the store and was told that it wouldn't be delivered until the 20th or 21st. Now we have been eating out because I have no way to cook meals. That's expensive for a family if 4. I went to the store on the 16th and demanded my money back and they refused saying they would give me a gift card. No I'm not buying anything else at Lowe's. I have called corporate, customer care and the store many times and no one will help me. I do not recommend purchasing any major appliances with them. They do not own the appliances they purchase from a third party warehouse and refunds can only come from them apparently. None of their staff is helpful. They lied about being at work to me. We visited this Lowe's on Sunday, August 22nd. This store is in New Hanover County - which enacted a mask mandate for all public places effective Friday, August 21st. While in the store - I noticed that less than half of the customers were wearing masks. As I have a co-morbidity (and yes - I have been vaccinated) - I was very disappointed in this. I spoke with a manager and she informed me that there was nothing they could do. She stated (wrongly) that if the store were to ask a customer to put on a mask - it would be a violation of that customer's HIPAA rights. No - that's not a thing. Anyway - I will never shop at this location again. Its apparent the store/company doesn't care enough about the safety of their customers. read more

Do not get your carpet from Lowe's. Ordered and paid for carpet at the store. The sub showed up and informed me that it would be $163.00 more because of excessive pet stains in carpet. This same company came out to do a measure for my estimate. They took pictures while there. There has been no additional stains since the measure. With larger Lowe's in the area and many competitors I find that this Lowe's always has what I need or can assist me. Never over crowed and normally less than 2 people in any cashier line I can get in and out with out any problems. The shelves are always stocked and the isle are always clean. The service desk has the most helpful ladies and always with a smile. Okay. Mixed review here. Give them over all a "meh" . When I finally got to speak to guy selling dishwashers he was helpful - not his fault this store doesn't know how to keep inventory in stock. Having a sale on dishwashers yet I had to go through 3 of them (preferred) before her was able to find one in stock. (Sorry LG you were first. Sorry Samsung - you were next, Sorry GE, you were third - planning to write you guys next) Anyway - finally and extra $200 later he found one in stock - we'll see how this expensive kitchen aid matches up. Anyway - really disappointed with this whole area. I called HomeDepot while I was here just to see if they had one as online it said they might. Nope. So I just waited 29 minutes for someone to help me buy a washer and dryer. There are 5 other people waiting and 1 person working in the department. The ONLY sales person working in the appliance department now on the phone with Home Depot verifying an advertised price. Now I don't blame the poor sales person, but seriously.... is anyone surprised they are closing stores?! What a f@ckin clown show. Update-after 46 minutes of waiting I went to the customer service desk and asked if they could send some help back to the appliance department. This one I DO blame on the employee, after she responded with " I'm not sure what you're asking, what would you like me to do"? To be fair, she did offer to let me speak with Chuck. Because instead of going back to a department where numerous people were trying to spend money, the best place for Chuck would be standing around the front of the store. If you are thinking about purchasing anything from Lowe's and having them install, go somewhere else!! We had the asst. store manager tell us during our countertop nightmare that he wished Lowes did not do installs and that is exactly how we were ultimately treated even after spending $4,000, and NOT having our countertops installed by the promotional or contract date. First installer bailed, second installer ( company out of Myrtle Beach), rude, unprofessional, bad reviews, not sure they knew what they were doing. Third installer, company told us point blank they hate dealing with Lowe's, never go through them you always over pay. To try and compensate us for the long delay, stress, rudeness, some rude corporate woman tried to give us $ 200. 00. After 3 months and 4 grand, we were insulted and said no thank you. We will continue to write letters and let your customers know you could care less if your customers are satisfied or not. We clearly are not. Sorry Lowe's we will finish our kitchen elsewhere and are no longer a loyal customer. read more

I only give this a two-star because of the variety of things that they carry and if you're in a hard situation where you need something that's in the construction field or anything like that then they usually have it. But I can't stand going any stores because it takes 2 hours to get in there find what you need if they have it and get out it's like it takes half of your work day up if you have to go in a place like this I dread when I have to maybe if they had more staff it would help but many a times all of these stores not just this one will have empty aisles with nobody working to show people where things are or help them at all and most the people that work there don't even know anything about most of the stuff in there they're just young kids basically or just old people filling their time with a part-time job so I think the customer service has gone downhill and I just hate going to these stores but at least they usually have what you needed a fair price. read more
