I am very disappointed with the customer service I received at the Lowe's in Staunton, Virginia. I was in the carpet section patiently waiting for assistance. At first, I saw three staff members helping a family with carpet, so I waited respectfully for them to finish. While I was standing there, two other staff members walked by without saying excuse me, acknowledging me, or asking if I needed help. After the family was helped and sent on their way, one staff member continued assisting them with something else, while three staff members were still in the area. Another customer even came in, but no one ever asked if I needed assistance. I was clearly standing in the carpet section, walking back and forth, waiting for someone to help me. I would think that if a customer is standing nearby watching staff cut carpet, it would be obvious that they may need assistance as well. I left feeling ignored and frustrated. I am now driving all the way to the Home Depot in Waynesboro, where I have heard the service is better. I am not happy with the lack of customer service I experienced today. read more

Nice selection and good sales - but where are the employees?? When I go to Home Depot, there's never a lack of people eager to help, but trying to find someone to assist you at the Staunton or Waynsboro Lowe's is like playing hide and seek with a skilled ninja. We either need Lowe's to improve or for Home Depot to build a store in Staunton. read more

We are on day 7 of having a completely broken fridge, which we purchased 8 months ago from Lowe's. They won't do anything about it since it's under manufacturer warranty (Samsung has sent a tech out and we are now waiting on parts, which they said will be another week, and they aren't even sure it will fix the problem. I'm so disappointed that Lowe's won't do a thing in this situation, even offer any sort of temporary solution or compensation for all the food we've lost and how much takeout we've had to eat. We bought a washer/dryer set several months ago and they did a terrible job installing it, they didn't bring the parts to stack the units even though my husband was assured at the store that we didn't need to purchase anything extra. They installed it was a huge kink in the drain line and didn't connect it properly to our water line, resulting in the old copper pipe breaking later and giving us a $500 emergency plumber bill. These people hurt local families, they don't care about your health or safety. We're swearing off big box appliances from now on and will be telling anyone we can to shop at smaller local places who actually give a crap about you and your business. read more

The dirt and rocks that were dug up in order to place the fence into the ground were just left along the perimeter of the inside of the fence. I'm 8 months pregnant and unable to clean up this area for mowing. I thought they might do this as a part of the cleanup process of the job. Also, I would have liked to keep the 6 unopened, left over concrete/cement bags. I paid for them as part of the installation and could potentially use them in the future. On the flip side, a few bottom bags got busted during the delivery of the materials, and the installers had to call Lowe's to remove those bags and clean up the area that had cement on the grass. The bags were picked up, but there is still cement on the grass near our mailbox. I am happy with the fence itself, but these other aspects make it difficult to fully enjoy our grass. read more

I didnt purchase a door lock because they had nobody on site to re-key it to my current key. Lowe's has really gone downhill will staff stretched thin and continued poor retension - new faces all the time! In a time when Lowe's is racking in the Covid 19 spending money, it sure is not putting that money back into local stores. read more

I love Staunton Lowes's!! I can find everything I need for home improvement projects. The employee's are super nice and even have treats for our fur babies. Most of all, I appreciate that customers are free to shop how they choose, taking individual safety precautions as they see necessary for themselves. read more

My mother and I went to get moving supplies and majority of patrons were not wearing masks. There were many people at high risk (elderly, etc). No employees were seen enforcing the mandate. read more

Made the mistake of trusting that the Lowes' salesman would help us when we contracted with him to have a new roof put on our house. He was full of empty claims that he was a professional, blah, blah. When I asked for a referral of a past customer, he provided me the name of one of his relatives. No, he didnt tell me it was his relative but I found out. And when I called him on it, he didnt see what the problem was. The actual roofing subcontractor (not a Lowes employee) who did the job was great (hence the 2 stars vs 0 stars) but the Lowes salesman didnt even bother to follow up to see how the job went. He stopped caring when the ink was dry on the contract. Ended up having to deal with Lowes customer service in Indianapolis via phone tag. Such. Incompetence that is a shame because this Lowes salesman knew I needed to do another $5k project in my home but I will NEVER go through Lowes again. read more

I have had 5 orders in 4 years that were either not delivered on time or left early and simply piled in the driveway in front of the garage door. I place an order earlier in the week and asked if it could be delivered Friday, not my usual order of a over $2000 but around $1000. The day before, Delivery Manager Tonya called to confirm. She told me between 8am and 8 pm. I told her that I wasn't sitting home for 12 hours and if she couldn't do better I would cancel the order. we agreed on the afternoon but I would need to discuss this with the 3rd party delivery service when they call the night before. At 8 pm the night before, I was called by a computer to say between 8am and 8pm. I had to go through multiple "menus" to get to a human as the computer didn't seem too hear me. I reach a person and we agreed between 12 and 4pm was good. The day of delivery I received a call that stated "we don't even have a truck here yet. I asked the person to have the ASM call me back. After almost 2 hours I drove to the store and found the ASM Blaine. Blaine had an poor attitude and after statements like 'what about our other customers", I told him I would be recording our conversation, which I did. Every person, from the store manager, who suggested that it could be there at 8pm, on down blamed the third party delivery. I had my own business in Richmond and when a third party service was not making my customers happy, I found one that did. I was told many times my problem was with the third party, I DIDNT BUY ANYTHING FROM NOR CONTRACT THE THIRD PARTY!!!!!!!!!!! I was the flatbed delivery driver in Waynesboro for a while and never had a late delivery. I also worked for the "Lowe's Store of the year" in Prince George a few years back and we didn't get there by making excuses or treating our customers like they were pheasants or beneath us as Blaine did. This may have been 0.00001 % of that store's sales but it was 100% of my purchase. I can see my purchases having an orange tint to them in the future and am passing this on to friends. I was told by multiple managers that "We want to keep you business and we WILL make this happen". IT DIDN'T!!!!!!. Not that they care but ORDERED CANCELLED! read more

Took a day off from work to receive a $2000+ wood order that was placed 4 weeks earlier. Received an automated call the night before at 8:30 informing us of delivery between 8:00 & 10:00 the next morning. At 10:00 called the store to find out where delivery was....and was asked if I wanted to speak to delivery mgr. After 5 minutes on hold, I was informed that the delivery mgr. is not in on Wednesdays. I drove to the store to be informed that my order was still at the store in the stockroom. They immediately blamed the third party delivery service for the delivery not being made as promised. THE DELIVERY WAS STILL IN THE STORE AND NO ONE BOTHERED TO CALL US TO LET US KNOW THEY DID NOT EVEN HAVE A DRIVER TO DELIVER OUR ORDER! We have had problems with this location before. We ordered 4 weeks ahead of time with 1 request....PLEASE DON'T BE LATE. Order cancelled and will give our hard earned money to Home Depot as this may be 0.001 percent of their sales for the day, but it could have been 100 percent of my purchases. Apparently, they have enough sales to not need mine. Unfortunately, we live in an age where customer service is no longer practiced and there is no accountability. read more

Premise: It's been a few years of pure frustration at this location for me to finally take to yelp and voice my opinion. To find out this store has 5 stars is a sad misrepresentation and poor indication of their service to Staunton natives and contractors alike. When my oven broke I went to Staunton Lowe's to replace it. I wanted them to take the initiative and guide us in our purchase and installation of the new unit. Who wants to be oven-less? Lowe's would not sell me the oven until a Lowe's contractor came to my house to measure and make sure it would fit in the existing position (for a fee of 35 dollars) This took just over a week. Then when I went back to the store as instructed by the contractor, I was told it would be another 3 weeks (minimum from purchase) before the oven would be delivered (not installed) since it was not in stock. Once it came in I would have to personally make arrangements with the local Lowe's for the contractor to come out and install the unit. We believe as a family we were paying a premium price $1500 dollars (installation included) and receiving minimum effort and service. This seems to be par for the course when it comes to the Staunton Lowe's location (store #0646). In our opinion, it's worth the trip to Waynesboro or Harrisonburg. What business model and leadership wants a family to wait 5 weeks to get a new oven. read more
