A few days ago, I order some toilet tissue, paper towels, laundry detergent and potting soil. Well, last night, a box from LOWESS was delivered and, it was none of what I ordered. The box had 3 boxes inside and it is heavy, and some type of flooring or something were in the box. Ok, so I called customer service and told them the problem, long story short, they told me to bring the box back to the store. REALLY?? I can't even lift the box. I have no way to get the box to the store and, I didn't order this. Well, my toilet paper et all, got delivered somewhere else and apparently, even though I didn't get the order, I won't get it until I bring the wrong delivered one back to LOWES, and I have to still pay for the order I didn't get. WOW! WHAT A WAY TO DO BUSINESS!! I've been a customer for 20 odd years, but, I guess that's going to end. And, I'm not paying for what I didn't get or ordered! read more

Salesperson was great when we ordered the sink, range top, wall oven, range hood, and microwave. The sink was first to arrive and after installation the plumber discovered it had a pinhole leak. Went to Lowe's and was told by sales person we had to go customer service - went to customer service and was told we we need to have a manager's override. He walked less than 10 steps into the manager's office explained the situation and returned telling us someone would contact us. I explained we needed a response asap. That was 3 weeks ago and no call. We called them four times and each time put on hold and hung up after being on hold 45 minutes, an hour, 40 minutes, and 90 minutes. It was sad because before being put on hold three of the times was told mánager was right there and that she would transfer our call while explain the problem. No mánager ever took the call. Their response to any problem or issue is to just ignore you. Called their Corporate offices and was stunned when the Customer Service person called this store and the response they gave to her was that they are working closely with us. Not only did they ignore us but lied to the Corporate person. It didn't stop with the sink. We had a problem with the range hood. Went to the store and the sales person needed to get a manager's override. The mánager came to the area to do a simple override but kept his back to us the whole time, knew about the sink problem, was less than 2 feet from us but made it clear he was not going to acknowledge us or communicate with us. Their Customer Service is Terrible and it is the customer who has to find other professionals for additional costly fees to fix the problems as you can't be sure you will get a refund if you want to return the item despite being assured we could. Loved the store for its convenient location but have learned it I better to go to its competitor who stands behind their products and won't be happy until you are happy. read more

Horrible experience dealing with both store management and corporate. If you're considering purchasing and having a countertop installed through Lowe's, I strongly recommend going elsewhere. After spending nearly $10,000, I expected a quality product and at least some level of customer care--but that was not the case. The installation was sub-par, and despite raising concerns, there has been little to no accountability or effort to make things right. Very disappointing experience overall. read more

I had a very frustrating experience. I was left on hold for over 30 minutes, dealt with rude staff, and no one seemed to know how to properly transfer my call. I asked to speak with a manager and never got the opportunity. Based on this experience, I'll be taking my business elsewhere. read more

This a review for Lowes on Central Sarasota Parkway. I ordered and paid for some trim from Kraftmaid and I was told by Lowes it had been received at Lowes, and someone signed for the delivery. But noone could locate it. I went to the store several times and each time someone tried to find it but failed. I asked them to re-order it, but they said they would keep looking for it. Never found. I am going to the store for the fourth time tomorrow to demand it be re-ordered. read more

Service probably varies store to store. Our Lowe's on Central Sarasota Parkway is no different. I must recommend Mike (supervisor) in the major appliance department. He was diligent and resourceful in securing the refrigerator we wanted, and did not give up despite its unavailability. You want something in that department, see him. Their saw sometimes goes down and it could take weeks to fix. Not sure who's issue that is. read more

Customer service was incredibly rude and condescending and hung up on me twice on purpose. It also took an insane amount of time to get anyone on the phone in the first place. What an awful place. read more

I have been a loyal Lowes customer for decades. I have made thousands of dollars in appliance purchases, as well as other home needs. However, after my visit today I may consider shopping elsewhere. I went to Store 2933 on Central Sarasota Parkway in Sarasota, FL today, our local Lowes. I selected the items I needed, as well as a gift card for a friend. I went to the Lawn and Garden checkouts since that was the last stop for my shopping. The associate scanned my items. I presented her with a gift card and asked that $25 be loaded onto the card. She aparently did not hear me correctly and scanned the gift card as if I was redeeming it. The system told her that there was no value to the card. I again informed her that I wanted to have the card loaded. She rescanned the card and attempted to load the $25. I received my receipt indicating I was charged for the card but was informed that the card failed to activate and was directed to Customer Service. At Customer Service, a head cashier attemped to remedy the situation but was unable to figure out what was wrong. She went to get someone "higher up". A lady with a name tag of Bonnie - Asst. Store Manager appeared. I explained what had happened. Her response was "Well, stuff happens." She was unable to fix the issue and had the head cashier call General Accounting. The person on the other end of the phone informed her that there was nothing they could do. I would have to escalate the problem through the gift card center. Why should I, through no fault of my own, have to attempt to remedy the situation when it was an associate's error that caused the problem. Bonnie informed me "People make mistakes." I would have to attempt to remedy the situation myself. I politely told her that I wanted my entire transaction cancelled, including the $25 for the gift card. She proceeded to void the transaction, without the gift card being refunded. I told her I was not leaving without the credit for the gift card. She then began to tell me not to raise my voice and speak to her employees that way. I never once raised my voice to anyone. Magically, she was able to give me $25 in cash but the charge was going to have to remain on my card. Why, if this was an option was this not done at the beginning of the discussion? I spent 30 minutes attempting to get resolution to my issue. I have many years of customer service experience and Bonnie can afford to go to some developmental classes on how to handle upset customers. Needless to say, I do not have the items I needed for my home, I do not have a gift for a friend's birthday, and I will most likely be shopping elsewhere for my home improvement needs. Lowes, you could have done better! read more

Vinyl flooring installation Contracted with Lowe's for a complete job, measurements, purchase of goods, and installation. Absolutely pleased with all. Special shout out to Cam in flooring and Eryk Szulborski installation. Good value for those in need of flooring installed. Eryk was prompt, professional an excellent craftsmen. He walked us through the project discussing installation options. As a result we were able to return unopened parts not need. Highly recommend Eryk for his installation expertise, cleanness and understanding our approach. Wish I could give them zero stars. They lied to me regarding my credit card that it is 0% interest for 1 year. They scammed me. Lied! Just plain lied. My credit card is not and never was 0%. It is 31.99%. I was dumb enough to buy a washing machine. I hope to never buy a thing at Lowe's for the rest of my life. I hope and plan to boycott them for the rest of my life. read more

Last Fall we bought two light-colored custom Levolor 3% Solar Shades for our condo in Florida. We have a large west facing wall of windows with rather brutal, late afternoon sun exposure. We went to the south Sarasota Lowe's to discuss our needs with a knowledgeable salesperson. The person we needed to talk with (Valentina) was not in and we returned 4-5 times with no success. For various reasons were never able to talk with Valentina and I am not entirely sure "Valentina" was not a code for inexperienced personnel to have the customer return at another time. Finally, after several unsuccessful attempts we discussed our needs with the assistant manager and he recommended the 3% solar shade. Unfortunately, the 3% solar shades are wholly inadequate at filtering light in the late afternoon to the point watching TV is impossible due to the brightness of the sun. Also, in the late afternoon the temperature in the room close to the shades is 3-5 degrees warmer than the rest of the room. It states on the Levolor website "Solar fabrics block light, but not the view". I contacted Levolor to verify we, in fact, have a 3% solar shade as the amount of heat inside the unit does not change when the shade is drawn. They were no help in verifying we have the correct shade. In addition to the solar shade issues, the Levolor Inmotion hub and app is unusable. With more than one shade it was impossible to set up. read more

The Sarasota Lowes store located in Sarasota Parkway has the best employees throughout the store! Extremely, helpful, always goes above and beyond with calling us back. Follow up through the hurricane on our orders was outstanding. I can't say enough as this is our store of choice. Millworks outstanding! Kitchen outstanding! Appliances wonderful! The Pro desk amazing! We haven't dealt with other areas but I'm sure they are all great. read more

Horrible 6 month experience with Lowes flooring installers. Once you pay Lowes for an installation they leave you on your own to deal with installation and its condescending manager Jeff (ironically) Lowe. Installation company was not able to lay tile correctly had to rip it up twice until I finally switched to laminate to make it easier for them. Beware. No stars. read more

I didn't get his name but the guy in lighting today was so helpful. I was looking for a replacement low voltage lighting kit and could not find what I needed. We talked for about 5 minutes and he figured out what I was looking for and then found it on a top shelf rack. He saved me a lot of money also, since I knew what I needed, and probably wasn't articulating it right. The installer I had asked previously said it would be $400 for him to install. Your guy helped me find the part for $80. I said thank you but want to make sure Mgmt. knows how helpful he was also. read more

The absolute worst service I've experienced. There are no knowledgeable employees in this store. Employees in the appliance and countertop departments just sit around on their computers and you have to approach them in order for them to help you. When you get their attention, they don't know anything about their departments. They don't even stand up to help you. Calling to cancel an order is just as bad. Customer service person "assumes the charge will come off your credit card." This store definitely needs new management. read more

Lowe's at Central Sarasota. Useless customer service. Bought a grill and they promised it would be delivered assembled. They delivered in a box and did not make it right. Paid $100 for a countertop estimate, made an appointment for the rep to come out from their subcontractor (Natural Stone Solutions). The manager Dan gave me pointers to look for patio furniture in January when aluminum Furniture would be available. I was trying to purchase large, heavy product. Multiple employees see me, and completely ignore me, never asking to help. When I was checking out 2 employees watched me at the check-out counter, juggling the enormous amount of heavy product, and didn't lift a finger to help or ask. The customers in line were shocked! I was also completely baffled by this, and bewildered how so many employees can be scheduled, see me struggling to get all the items to the checkout and to the car, and said nothing. I own an architecture and design firm, so decided to bring it up with the manager. I told him to watch the video of how many employees ignored me, and how much work it was for me to haul, purchase, and load in my vehicle. I called later and he said he saw the 30 min I was there on video, confirmed what I said, and all he can do is remind them to help. I can't send my business there in principle after that experience. read more

I never thought I'd say this after I've remodeled 3 houses, buying all items from Lowes. When some drunk person drove through my house $40k, it was lowes materials. I windup getting upset when I go there and Mariann doesn't have time for any explanation, saying to me in mid sentence, what is it that you want, in the nastiest manner. As soon as she opened her mouth, I remembered I had a similar encounter with Marianne last year. Last year was the same type of thing with her. Both times I called the customer service 800 line and formally complained. I'm getting something delivered tomorrow. I just called to check on it. I was met with, they'll call you between 6-10 tonight. I will probably still shop there out of convenience but I will utilize Home Depot, free delivery. I'm sorry but I blame this on management. If an employee has been complained about 2x by the same customer, one year apart, for the same exact behavior, and nothing is done, I can only come to one conclusion. Lowes does not care about the customers at all. How many others has Maryann ripped into in the past year. I was also lied to by a man who stated he was the manager when I complained about Maryann. He wasn't, another employee told me. I guess they also take their customers as fools. With much ado and losing money for hired help I had sod delivered. The person states he is a manager named Terry. Before he decided to deliver it 2 Miles away, he wanted to verbally and emotionally abuse me. If I didn't talk right I wasn't getting my Sod. He reminded 3 times that he was delivering I. His own truck. He kept breaking me down until I started crying. I didn't know what was happening. I called the guys and told them to not come which was good because it was too late and had to go on second job. I was out $40. I mentioned I'm handicap. When Terry pulled up, he previously told me I have to help him unload the sod. I went to get my gloves and was so nervous I forgot them. He said move the plants. One was a clay pot. It was thin and I was able to move it. read more

If I could rate Lowe's *zero* stars, I would. They purport to have a "customer care" motto, but this is a myth. I'm having significant problems getting a Frigidaire refrigerator fixed, even though it is still under warranty. The Frigidaire-authorized service tech confided to me that my problem was a *known* issue with Frigidaire refrigerators that he has seen numerous times before. Frigidaire Customer Service has been giving me the run-around, and Lowe's has essentially washed their hands of the problem. Why am I faulting Lowe's?  Lowe's sold me the refrigerator.  Lowe's bears some responsibility for the products that they sell.  In fact, Lowe's continues to sell Frigidaire appliances with known defects and terrible customer service.  Is this their idea of responsible business practices? Or "customer care"? I have contacted the Lowe's "customer care" line at 888-77LOWES.  The woman on the other end was pleasant enough, but it was abundantly clear that she wasn't going to lift a finger to help solve the problem.  She was just a lackey stuck with answering the phones on that day. Bottom line: Lowe's needs to stand behind the products that they sell. That's how to instill brand loyalty. read more
