Very clean store with the same stuff as Home Depot. Staff less friendly but was able to purchase a few odds and ends for the farm.

I love shopping at Lowes. Great selection and great people. Got a fridge and ice maker and had it delivered and opened an account.

Our recent experience has reminded me that going local is the way to go…read more We needed a new dishwasher recently and decided to purchase through one of the two chain garden/home improvement stores. The service was "meh" but we persevered. After waiting for two weeks for any movement on the company, we decided to go down the street to Tim's and see what options they had for dishwashers. While the selections were few, they had one dishwasher that had what we wanted (of COURSE we want the third rack...doesn't everyone?)...and though it was more expensive than we originally planned on spending (at the box store), it was ready for purchase and installation. We paid for it and waited for a phone call to have it installed...and what do you know? We were called within two days and the actual dishwasher was installed within three days of the call! The person who installed the dishwasher was professional, respectful, and determined to install the product completely and correctly! We are still waiting to hear from the box store for next steps on purchasing a cheaper dishwasher...it's now been a month since we started the process with them. I kind of hope they do call so that I can rave about Tim's and their speedy service. Oh, and that we ended up purchasing a more expensive product. Go local, my yelping friends!

Frank found the part that broke off in my garbage disposal. it was in a glass of ice I poured out. Just glad I didn't swallow it!!

I was able to install it myself and the washer mostly worked but there was something wrong with the programming that it kept auto shutting off after a minute or two. Tim's Appliance repair techs were way booked out so I called Umpqua Appliance and they were able to send out a tech much quicker, which cost me $150. But he never looked at the control panel or literally any bit of the internal machine. I showed him how I tried configuring the control panel from the washer's front interface and all he worked on was that interface, literally trying the same configuration and a few other programming codes but nothing worked. I'd hoped he'd have some special tool to help figure it out or at least try to look inside the machine, of which I'd already taken apart the back panel, but all he did was google on his phone to diagnose it, which I'd already done myself. All he could tell me was that he thought the new control panel I'd installed was defective. I'm not an electrical engineer so idk if it was or wasn't but the fact that I'd run for a minute or two makes me think it wasn't and that it was something wrong with the door latch locking mechanism or something like that. Again, I needed a technician to actually look at the machine to diagnose that. Instead all I got from Umpqua Appliance was a $150 bill and no useful advice. I've never been to the Umpqua Appliance store front in Winston and so I can't give any review for the store front, but if you need an appliance service repair technician, then go somewhere else.

Home Depots are usually pretty similar with a few additions for the local area. The main difference…read moreis the service they provide. I have found staff in most of the time but have had to do some walking to find someone on occasion. Everyone has been helpful so it's just they need more help (like most places). I have worked with staff in appliances who had someone ahead of us but got to us as soon as he could. We do like Home Depot, recommend it and will be back. Hopefully, they can find more help to assist customers when they're trying to spend money in the store.

UPDATE: Home Depot corporate has now responded to my complaint with a completely canned response,…read moreexplaining that they have no direct control over their third-party delivery contractors. No investigation, no solution, no accountability. Just the usual "we value your feedback" and "we appreciate your business." Apparently, once Home Depot has collected thousands of dollars from a customer, actually getting the merchandise delivered to the address provided is someone else's problem. Their response has only reinforced my decision to take every future purchase to Lowe's. Home Depot, you don't get to outsource the delivery and then outsource the responsibility. Approximately 18 months ago, I purchased an exterior door from Home Depot. The delivery driver refused to drive up my road, claiming his truck couldn't access it, despite the fact that full-size semis had recently delivered lumber and building supplies to my property during construction. Instead, he made me meet him in a parking lot down the highway. As a 112-pound woman, I couldn't unload the heavy door myself, so it sat in the back of my open pickup truck in the rain until my installer could help. Fast-forward to October 2026. I gave Home Depot another chance and ordered another exterior door. This time, I had it shipped directly to my installer specifically to avoid another delivery fiasco. Unbelievably, SAME PROBLEM! The delivery driver is claiming he cannot access my installer's residential street. Yes, it's narrow, but it's perfectly drivable, and Lowe's has successfully delivered there multiple times. The current shipment was handled through ArcBest/ABF Freight and transferred to Peninsula Truck Lines for final delivery. Two doors. Two delivery nightmares. Two perfectly accessible locations. And here's what Home Depot just lost: I was prepared to purchase a $2,100 Samsung refrigerator from them TODAY. Instead, I'm taking that purchase to Lowe's, along with every future appliance, building material, and home improvement purchase. I own a home and acreage with ongoing projects. That's a LOT of future business. Home Depot, your delivery arrangements are driving customers straight into your competitor's arms. You didn't just lose a refrigerator sale. You lost a customer permanently.
