I just recently had a delivery of a dishwasher from Lowe's in Pembroke to my home. I have a 1300 foot driveway. Just a week earlier, I had a stove delivered from Lowe's. The drivers of the truck had no problem going down my driveway, even though there are a few low branches that they have to go slow under, but this driver refused to go down my driveway. He unloaded the dishwasher right on the spot and said I can't help you. I then had to put the dishwasher into the back of my car which barely fit and drive it to my house. When I asked about them, taking away my old dishwasher, which was part of the plan, he shrugged and said I can't go down your driveway. Un-believable. Of course, when I tried to complain, I got Passed around to a bunch of phone numbers to lodge my complaint. I was livid. Think twice when you get anything from Lowe's that needs to be delivered. read more

My NEW whirlpool washing machine failed after less than a year and a half. Lowe's won't back up the product "you should've purchased an extended warranty". I would have if I thought a WHIRLPOOL product would fail this soon esp since ANY whirlpool product I ever owned last for YEARS! BTW: whirpool has IGNORED my attempts to reach them. Buyer beware if you plan to purchase a major appliance. Delivery problems are numerous and not worth the modest savings you might realize. We have several specialty appliance stores on the South Shore who will price match and provide expert delivery and installation. The "free" delivery and installation service from Lowe's is an abomination. They show up other than at scheduled time; have no idea how to remove and install a high-end refrigerator; cannot hook up a copper water line to a refrigerator; fail to switch door hinge openings for right to left on clothes dryers. I just cancelled a refrigerator purchase from them for several of the problems I cited, and repurchased from GW Toma. I felt so confident in the knowledgeability and competence of my sales person, unlike the dread of working with Lowe's. I took great pleasure in canceling my order. read more

Third time in over the last year, and barring some specific item availability will be the last time. In general the folks that work here appear to be punching a clock. Many people encountered don't know much about the department they are in, or even where products are displayed to direct you. Please don't assume someone here will talk you through options or solutions. Much like other reviews many of the employees here will just walk away. Several months ago we needed blinds cut. Called the store, confirmed they provided this service, drove over, and the machine was out of order. OK, I can see how that specific status may not be widely understood. They tried to up sell us on custom, and when we pivoted to the original plan they just walked away. Went back when the machine was working and the tech didn't realize the machine auto cut about 1/4" off additional to your size to make sure it fit. This is annoying to I modified all my cuts to control my reveal. Tried to charge me for the first one despite no disclosure of the cut accuracy or process. Stayed away for many months but went in for a few circuit breakers. Pretty quick to ID them, then after checking out the total price seemed odd. Went back in and confirmed the marked price was about $7 less per breaker. (I had three) I asked the fellow working the department and he said they rang up correct and were just marked wrong in the aisle. He tried to walk away. I asked him to explain the store policy and he said I was the only one that ever had this problem. I asked if he was responsible for stocking and if he was just going to leave the boxes in the wrong place... and he said yes. I took a few quick pics and went to customer service for a price adjustment. The clerk was pressing me to just return them as they scanned the correct price. I showed her the pics and explained the in aisle conversation. She persisted in just returning them, but a manager wandered by. She asked for an authorization for a price adjustment, and he immediately assisted without hesitation or question. All in all trip three ended OK, but not exactly a place I want to continue to support. read more

Terrible experience with delivery. We had purchased the wrong cord, and even though they had them in the delivery truck, they refused to exchange it so they could install the new dryer, claiming our electrical outlets were not up to code (which was a lie because when we called a different appliance store, we're were told that Lowes frequently tells customers this). They also refused to take the old dryer away until we showed them the receipt that we paid for that service. When we went to Lowes to get the correct cord, we were told they would not send anyone out to install the new dryer, again telling the same lie about the outlets. When we mentioned that this was not brought up the last time we bought a dryer, we were told that we had no idea what we were talking about. They basically told us to just return the dryer and go kick rocks. No apology, no attempts to make it right. read more

I had purchased a pair of Levolor vinyl roller shades online, and needed the width of each roll trimmed to the perfect size.  No one was working in the window treatment area at the time I arrived there, so I pressed a button to call for assistance. Stephen from the Flooring Dept. came over and graciously offered his help.  What a great employee!  He was polite, knowledgeable, efficient, and attentive.  He knew exactly what he was doing, and provided me with prompt and exemplary customer service.  Two thumbs way up for Stephen at Lowes store number 1758! These days, it's so hard to get good customer service anywhere, so when I do, I have to give praise where (and to whom) it is due! read more

Went to Lowe's for a new vanity and faucet! James was so helpful getting the vanity down from the top shelf! He also helped find the matching faucet which was in a completely different department than where it should have been. He also had to get 2 different machines to get to the top shelf in each department! Thanks James for all your help and patience today. Called corporate and guess what? They connected me to the same people that won't call me back. They subcontract to someone local but it's through someone in Connecticut??? I'm not really sure if this should be a 1 star or a 5 star review my wife and i went to Lowe's to buy a faucet for our upstairs bathroom sink.We wanted to have it installed and Lowe's said they would send someone out for a estimate it would cost $35.00 dollars. One of Lowe's contractors came out and gave us a estimate of $393.00 dollars minus the $35.00 dollars we paid for the estimate. So it would be $358.00 dollars to put in 1 faucet!! We are no expert plumbers but $ 393.00 dollars to put in 1 faucet even the estimate they gave to us said basic labor faucet....so we called a local plumber he came did the work it took 1 hour and he charged us $125.00 dollars. We went to Lowe's talked to Bo showed him all the paperwork and he refunded us the $35.00 dollars. Also said he would look into why such a big gap in estimate and what we actually paid for the install. So thanks to Bo we will remain Lowe's customers. We will however be hesitant to have the contractors do the work. read more

I like the Kobalt line of electric tools (made by Greenworks. Lowes does not stand behind the 5 year warranty. The customer service people in Abington are awful. One excuse after another. Horrible, have placed 3 orders at the Abington Store for appliances and had problems with 2 out of 3. Rick in appliances is nice when you order but as soon as there is a problem and they mess up, attitude galore. I order a stove on 12-15-20 and was told it would be delivered and installed in February, called last week and found out they had marked my delivery complete, now my expected install date is mid-April, when I asked Rick if they do anything to compensate customers for their mess-ups, his reply was they did nothing wrong. I will be cutting up my card and bringing my business elsewhere. Also had an issue with my dishwasher install. Do not recommend doing business here. read more

Had a flood in bathroom so I had to go to Lowe's to get it fixed despite the corona virus. Had a lot of trouble even finding one employee, when I did find someone he was super unwilling to help. You could just tell I was bothering him. I'm was trying to make a significant purchase, toilet, vanity, pedestal sink, trim, all the plumbing and I had to leave without purchasing anything. This is one of the bigger Lowe's, so the selection seems more varied than the Abington store. Overall the sales staff is fairly friendly. It's a big-box store, and the layout is fairly similar to others'. As far as store amenities, eat before you come in if you are doing major research, like looking at kitchens and baths. They don't sell candy, don't have an attached coffee shop, and not much for soda--which is kind of a good thing. The rest rooms are clean, and if you have a baby, the changing table is not connected to a stall (at least in the ladies'). read more

I was looking for a Christmas tree. The store was extremely busy. The tree I was looking for was on top of one of the rows. The person helping me had just started but didn't brush me aside because she didn't know exactly what to do. She went to get help. She did. There was only one person who could get it down. He was there within minutes. I got my Christmas tree, but I wanted to say thank you to all of them for helping me. Most times people don't review if they are satisfied with the service. I applied for Lowe's Credit Card and was assured by Customer service and store manager that APR was less than 12%. I have AMEX and MC both under 10%. When i received my first bill I realized all Lowe's CCs are 24.99% no matter your Credit rating or FICO score. I disputed this with the Coorporate office and all they can say is they are sorrry for the inconvenience.. I'm continually getting double billed and charged late fees when I have perfect credit history. Lowes is thee worst company's to do business with.. I'd urge and encourage each and everyone of you to use your own credit card and not apply for a lowe's card. They are rip offs. I have filed a complaint with the AG's office and they initally agree with the double billing but Lowe's just says it's a computer mistake. My 85 year old mother and I decided to use the home improvement services of Lowe's in Pembroke MA to redesign her kitchen. Sonya was the kitchen designer. We came to an agreement on the design. The Lowe's design specifically shows a 3O inch opening for a standard wine cooler as requested . However the trim made the cut out 29.5 inch. I recently bought a 30 inch refrigerator and does not fit the space. Although the design is a year old, it is not what Lowe's drew on paper. I stopped by the kitchen design department and I was told Sonya would call. No call has been received. To add, one of the kitchen cabinet door brackets severely loosen after a month. My brother-in-law provided the fix by placing a piece of wood in the over drilled bracket hole. Also the trim at the top of the cabinets appear crooked. The electrician who drilled a new can light over the sink. repaired the plaster like an amateur in my opinion. Hello, I would like to report that I just experienced blatant discrimination in your Pembroke, MA Store #1758. I was shopping with my in-laws, both are natives of Brazil and speak Portuguese, they just bought a new home and are renovating their bathroom. After having spent over $5000 in this store, they wanted to open a store credit card. I assisted my father-in-law with submitting the application online. He was approved and we printed out the temporary card as directed and went to the store. After we finished choosing the rest of the items for their bathroom, we proceeded to check out. After having all the items rung in, he presented the temporary card. The cashier told us to hold a moment and then Terri, "Support Manager" came over. She proceeded to tell us that it is AGAINST STORE POLICY to accept this. Shocked as I was, because it was a LOWE'S STORE CREDIT CARD, she asked if I would like to speak with a manager, I said yes I would. She called the manager and we waited for him, all the while insisting "they do not accept these at this store because it is against policy." The manager came down. BO COLLINS, he looked over the temporary card, shook his head and told me, "we do not accept these" he even asked me where I got it from. I told him LOWES.COM. By now I am EXTREMELY EMBARRASSED, My father-in-law is EMBARRASSED and my mother-in-law is EMBARRASSED! I pointed to the account number which is printed on the paper and told him to put this number into the computer and allow us to show him the 2 forms of identification that it says we must provide, the paper states "such as a drivers license or credit card." At this time Terri blurts out that my father-in-law does not have a drivers license. I stated he does not but he has his passport with him which is a universally accepted form of identification as well as credit cards. Reluctantly, he advises the cashier to enter in the account number, a look of astonishment and bewilderment can clearly be seen on the face of Terri. At this point it is realized that this was a valid store account and the transaction is going through, Bo and Terri quickly escort each other into the front office near the exit and hide until after we leave. THIS IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. If I was not there, and let me state I am a WHITE MALE in my late 30s, THEY WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ALLOWED TO MAKE A PURCHASE! It is UNREAL that this happens today in America and you should be ashamed of yourselves for employing such racists! read more

Order about $1600 of vinyl flooring. Paid additional $65 for delivery. They left it by my front door. Would not bring it in to my 3rd floor apartment. Order I had 5 weeks earlier was brought up the stairs with a smile. I could have had Lowes put this in my car for nothing. Called and complained. Will update if anything is addressed by Lowes. We, having recently moved to the South Shore, needed a whole-lotta stuff from a home improvement store. One of our first major items "on the list" was a washer and dryer, which my mom so kindly decided to purchase for us as a housewarming gift. This whole thing was a bit of a debacle, HOWEVER, after much thought, I realize that most of what was creating the stress had nothing to do with Lowe's whatsoever. Here's the timeline: 1) Went to Lowe's Pembroke to check out washers and dryers. Was very disappointed with the staff member who was "assisting" me; very disinterested, had no real opinion or information other than what I could find online. Asked to speak with the appliances manager, who was much more helpful. 2) My mom ordered the Samsung Activewash washer and dryer over the phone with the appliances manager. We knew ahead of time that this particular set were not in stock and would need to be ordered. The wait time was projected to be TWO weeks and they'd call me as soon as they were in. The fact that Samsung was behind the eight-ball on this washer and dryer was not Lowe's fault. 3) THREE weeks come and go, no call. When I call to check and get an update, I was notified that my order was in and could be scheduled for delivery. We were still finishing up the laundry room renovation, and said we'd call back in a few days to schedule. Later that week when I called again, I was told that the washer was "in", but now, the dryer was not. It was apparently on back order and there had been a "miscommunication" about the dryer being "in". Immensely frustrating. The fault here was Lowe's; they should have called to let someone know that the dryer was on back order and the delivery would be delayed... another 2 weeks. After discussing with Assistant Store Manager Kelly and the Ordering Manager Sharita, Lowe's offered to deliver my washer and a loaner dryer to use in the interim. My mom and I both received phone calls and emails from Kelly issuing an apology and the determined solution. 4) A 3rd party delivers the washer and dryer... and they're running late (more than hour after scheduled time). They set it up and dash off without ever even checking to see if they worked. This is not Lowe's problem, though I did address it with them. It turns out, the washer has an issue with the latch-- the washer is unable to start its cycle. And so, after waiting all this time to do a load of laundry in my own home, I'm not able to. I'm about to explode. This was also not Lowe's problem; this was a Samsung manufacturing problem. Kelly contacted Samsung for me, sent them our receipt, and let them know the issue. 5) Samsung has a 3rd party do repairs (Alpha NE Electronics). I had to call and set up the appointment, all while trying to explain and hypothesize what the problem is over the phone (the lid was sightly off-kilter, causing the latch to malfunction). They tell me the best they can do is next week. So I wait. The repair man comes,removes the ENTIRE top half of the washer (not necessary), then tells me he needs to order a new latch (not necessary, he only needed to adjust the lid) and come back next week. I watch him struggle and fume, putting the top of the washer back together. When he leaves, I notice that the ENTIRE top half of the washer is now off-kilter, and there's noticeable denting on the side. The washer is not usable at all. I'm seething. But it's not Lowe's fault; it's the repairman's fault, and Samsung's for their faulty product. I place call to Kelly, she calls Samsung. I've just about had it at this point. 6) Previously ordered Samsung dryer finally arrives in a few days later, and Lowe's has the exact same model of washer in stock now. The 3rd party shows up on time, removes the now completely useless washer and loaner dryer, installs the washer as we requested, and tests everything to make sure it works. Bingo. As you can see, I went through a hell of a lot of rigmarole for a set of basic appliances. What did I learn, that can apply to you? 1) order what's in stock if at all possible. You're rolling the dice (and playing a waiting game) if you order something out of stock. 2) CALL THEM if they don't call you. Keep tabs on your order. 3) if your new appliance requires repair right out of the gate, you're better off just returning it for a new one (or a different model). The repair companies sent out by the manufacturer couldn't care less. And the fact that Lowe's has no control over who is sent is all the more reason to avoid it altogether. I greatly appreciate Kelly and her interest in my problematic Lowe's order. She is the epitome of professionalism under fire. We will continue to use this Lowe's (with the above recommendations in mind) for the remainder of our home renovation. read more

I have been shopping at this Lowes store since the day that it opened.. At first the store was well stocked and the staff was knowledgeable, helpful and courteous. However, during the last couple of years that 'customer experience' has gone downhill dramatically. First off, the inventory management at this store is abysmal; when I go looking for what should be a common, regularly stocked item (hardware, housewares..etc.), it is truly a 'crap-shoot' if this store will have it in stock and available for me.. very disappointing. Also, the lumber that has been picked through in the bins is often warped, twisted and unusable.. but no one removes it. Secondly, the staff has become apathetic and un-helpful. This store recently went through a major reorganization (physically) and virtually none of the inventory remains where it used to be. That makes trying to pick something up quickly a challenge. To make matters worse, the STAFF doesn't even know where items have been moved to!! When I've asked where I can find item XX, I've been told more than once (by more than one associate)..'that got moved, I don't know where it is now'. This store is sending me back to Home Depot.. The closest HD store is not as convenient to get to but offers a much better experience. read more

I'm here to invite you all to disregard David H.'s review. My wife and I, just 5 days ago, purchased quite a few items and opened up a Lowe's credit card to receive 18 month of interest free financing (sorry, offer ended 4.21.15). We were VERY aware that the interest rate is 24% if we missed our payment or did not complete payments within the 18 month promotional period - pretty standard with all retail store credit cards. Aside from that, the Lowe's mobile app is great - allowing you to search for items, read reviews, find item location in store by isle and location, and build an online cart - something my wife and I found very useful during the time we planned and strategized our big purchase. Gerry, new to the company within the last six months, was great with us. Learning "the ropes," he graciously asked for our patience as he made sure that everything we needed (including grill assembly and delivery) was taken care of as he continued learning the systems. I have been going to this location for at least 4 years, but I felt extra inspired to write a positive review after reading David's post and how well my wife and I were treated during our last purchase. My wife and I purchased a Whirlpool gas range from this store last summer and were assured it was self cleaning by the department manager. 3 months later when we used the self clean feature guess what? It doesn't work!! After 3 service calls we have no satisfaction and a dirty NEW gas range. Lowe's has provided no support for a product they have misrepresented and is not protecting their customers from manufacturers who are providing an inferior product. read more

Just had a very frustrating experience with Lowe's. Our refrigerator stopped working so we went to the Lowe's in Pembroke assuming that it would be the quickest option considering the ongoing pandemic and that they were considered an essential service. We selected a new refrigerator and were told that while it wasn't in stock at that store, it was in stock at their local distribution center. We were told we could expect delivery within ten days, but possibly sooner. Today is officially day 21 of no refrigerator, and when we called to ask what was going on, we were told that we might get it by the 16th and that we are one of the "lucky" ones. I knew I should have gone to a local business instead of a place that's too big too care about their customers. I am extremely disappointed. I have been to this Lowes a number of times, and the staff in the store is always very helpful, but who ever told my wife that she was "lucky" to only have our delivery take nearly 3 times as long as they said it would isn't going to be winning any awards in my book any time soon. read more

Don't waste your time going to this store especially if you plan to order a vanity or storm door. Previously I ordered a vanity and scheduled for the contractor to pick it up. It took over an hour for the store to locate the item and bring it to the front for pick even after I called to schedule the pick up. After waiting we discovered it was damaged. It was an hour process to return and reorder. Because I give people the benefit of the doubt I tried again by ordering a storm door with pet access. The contractor ordered the door and went to pick it up. After waiting over an hour for the order to be located the door had no pet access. He sat with the person ordering to get the correct door. When he was notified it arrived it was again incorrect, as the door was too small. The contractor was charged for the size needed but a smaller door was delivered. When I called to speak to the manager Matt he only redirected me to the person who incorrectly ordered the door twice. Convieniently I was disconnected after being on hold for 5 min. I will not return to this store for anything. read more
