When I ordered a wood splitter they delivered it but it arrived flawed. They picked it up, redelivered it, picked it up a second time and again redelivered it. Lowes, particularly the manager Terry, really stood by me. It took 5 trips with a delivery truck to finally get it straightened out but in the end they offered me a great deal for the trouble. read more

I ordered kitchen cabinets with their cabinet "expert", Barb. I came in with measurements from another place and she never insisted on them coming out to measure. That was the first mistake. The second mistake is that Barb needs more experience. I told her I wanted my cabinets to go to the ceiling, and I wanted crown molding. She never ordered the crown molding and the cabinets she ordered didn't go all the way to the ceiling. My contractor had to make his own crown molding. Also, had she insisted on having someone from her store come out to measure my kitchen, she would've known that the first place's measurements were way off. We got a very good price but when our cabinets did come in, our contractor found out we need two more cabinets because of the measurements. That cost us $1000.00 just for a 6" and a 9" cabinet. I think they should've given those cabinets to us at the some discount level as when we previously ordered due to them not measuring. When I called Barb about the crown molding all she could say was "I don't know, I don't remember." Very unhappy with the service. Love my cabinets but this transaction has left a very bad taste in my mouth! read more

i always love going here, the staff is all very smart and helpful. always have what we need! however i tried to get a job here and the guy who was supposed to interview me apparently no-call no-showed and i waited for an extra 30 minutes only to be denied a couple months later. We returned a new Frigidaire refrigerator to this Niles, MI store on May 31, 2023 because it was 1/4 too wide for the cabinet space our previous Frigidaire fit in. They confirmed that they now have the fridge we returned, but... NINE DAYS LATER we are still waiting for our $1200 refund despite calling the store three times two days ago and three times today and one time to the corporate offices customer service number! Every time we have called the call center tells us the person we need to talk to is out to lunch, has gone home for the day, doesn't work there on (choose a day!), or will call us back soon. 12/15/19 UPDATE: Stove still not installed! I got yet another call today from another 3rd party installer who said he was calling to schedule an appointment to "install your dishwasher and range". He also said he was taking out an old one. So, the dopes at Lowe's Niles didn't tell him the dishwasher is already installed? Or maybe, they lied to me about that too and it still needs to get installed? But this guy is thinking he's removing an old stove and installing a new one in a new construction house. I asked if he has the LP conversion kit with him. He didn't know. I asked if he knew a BRAND NEW range was left at my house a month ago. He didn't know that. He didn't know anything. Again....LOWE'S NILES IS A JOKE! They have NO CLUE what they're doing and really aren't even trying in my opinion. I think they're just incompetent and now mad and incompetent because I keep complaining every time they mess up (which is every time I deal with them). MORE TO COME AGAIN! Maybe someday this stove will get installed. I would avoid Lowe's if you actually want something done. If you want to buy appliances and install them yourself or get someone else to do it, you'll get a good deal like buying from any big box store. Service is TERRIBLE here from the appliance department. Don't worry, whatever you tell them you need done, they're not listening to you. That you can be sure of. I paid for someone to come to my new house (new construction) to deliver and install a fridge, dishwasher and gas range. They charge me to come out and "measure" to make sure everything can be installed, even though as I assured them, it's NEW CONSTRUCTION. "Do we need to remove any old appliances?" Yes, please remove the old fridge, dishwasher and range from my new construction house that I just told you is new and has never had appliances. But I digress! After me paying for them to come out, they deliver the appliances. Then, they have to send a different person(s) out to install at a later time. This is another and of course, much larger charge. I don't live in state, so I have to have someone meet them there. They don't hook up the water line to the fridge, they do install the dishwasher, but not the stove. They tell me, "the stove came from the factory with the connector in backwards. You should call your gas company because we aren't authorized to work on it like this". Huh? So my stove is defective? The $48 LP conversion kit I bought isn't right? What? Which is it? So after talking with the Lowe's employee, and them getting back to me, she says, "no, it's the gas line is wrong". Oh, really? What's wrong? Too short? Not in the right place? Are there any notes or something I need to tell the builder or gas company? OF COURSE NOT! Why would there be any information so we can rectify the problem?? I ended up hanging up on the appliance worker and called the manager. I guess I'll see what's next. I'll update my review if and when this issue is fixed! 11/25/19: Since my last review, they ordered a new stove. I really have no idea why, but that was their solution. Of course, the stove is not in yet, but their idiot installer called me because "you're on my board to come out to your house again...aren't you the guy with the regulator problem?" After asking him why he didn't call the person he was supposed to in Michigan to actually set up the appointment, he said, "oh yeah, I have that number, I'll call her". However, he didn't even know why he was going out there! I called Lowe's right after and they didn't know why he called either since the stove is still not in! It's really amazing now just how bad they are. It's worse than the 'right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing'. It's just pure incompetence. And to talk to them shows they really don't care. Yes, they're apologetic and listen to me rant and rave, but that's not fixing anything. It's a matter of sitting down for a few minutes, putting the paperwork in order and laying out a 'plan of attack' to make it right. They're obviously too busy or just not capable of doing this most simple of tasks, which is both sad and frightening at the same time. More to come! read more

On April 5, 2022, I ordered a Washer & Dryer on the Lowes website. I had asked for it to be delivered. I received an E-mail that it was ready to be picked up, so I called and said it was to be delivered. Because one of the items was not in stock, they wanted to make two deliveries. I needed everything at the same time. We agreed on 5/19/2022 between noon & 4 pm. No one showed. No call, no e-mail, no text. It never made the truck. I've been to Lowe's before and they've been pleasant about cutting wood that I need to the size I need. Well today I was completely ignored. I saw eight workers is sending around acting like they were working when they work. I rang the bell by the wood cutting and no response waited five minutes no response called the store to have an annoying lady want to know what exactly services I demand but not yet allowing me to say service desk. She got frustrated and gave me the service desk. They called overhead to ask somebody to come and help me and wood cutting. Three or so minutes went by there was a forklift near me, so I'd beat that horn five times. After about a minute or so somebody actually walked by asked if he was able to cut wood he said yes, but the saw would damage the wood I was buying I said thanks but I won't purchase this. I'll go to another store and walked away. As I'm walking out of the store, I see another five or six people just sitting around doing nothing. I asked them if they heard the forklift horn beep and they said no, what can we help you with? I said nothing I'm leaving. read more

Had a lot to buy at Lowes today. The store was unusually crowded. Walked in and every other person was maskless. Walked back out and left empty handed. I felt like I was in a Covid petri dish. Apparently this business does not require masks with Covid cases and variants rising quickly in Michigan. Won't go back to a store that does not have their customers safety as a top priority during this pandemic. Ended up going to Menards in Mishawaka fifteen minutes away. Not one person without a mask because they won't let you in without one. Very well run store and I felt completely safe. Terrible customer service!!! I placed my order online first thing in the morning. I received an e-mail that my order was ready to be picked up. I went to Lowe's 6 hrs after placing my order to pick it up. I waited 20 mins just to be told that it wasn't ready. I ended up having to find the items myself. The entire time I was there waiting I was spoken down to and treated very unfriendly by the Lowe's staff. I will go to Menards or Home Depot instead! Unfortunately I have been having to deal with this location of Lowe's during a lengthy renovation and I have been disappointed almost every time. Complete lack of communication for curbside, I know they are doing their best during Covid but it is very unorganized. I sit at curbside when order says it's ready, enter into the app that I am there, wait and wait, call the place, (I called the service desk and they were scrambling saying they were going to call me back every time) then they say to go down to lumber because those guys will get it for me, I wait forever down there, go in, none of the guys down in the lumber pro desk know what's going on, they walk around in circles, finally call the service desk, apparently the service desk didn't tell anybody... Basically I always have to count on a good hour plus just for curbside here. I never have issues like this with Menards. Ever. I roll up, they have what I need, they load it in and I'm out within 10 minutes maybe 20 max. This is always an ordeal at Lowe's just to figure out where my stuff is and to get somebody on it. read more

As we all know inconvenient happenstances occur usually when we least expect them, and just like most people I was not exempt. Me being unknowledge when it comes to certain home appliance repairs, I was stressed when some unexpected internal issues with some wiring etc., occurred with a light of mine. I thought I could try and fix it myself, but after watching YouTube and almost electrocuting myself... I figured it's safer for me to visit Lowes. To my surprise I was amazed with all of the home and appliance options they have. I'll admit, though I'm not the most knowledge about certain home repairs and appliances, from the times I've visited Lowes I noticed the different home products/ appliances they carry. They have something for everything, and a solution for just about everything!! I was impressed. I thought the wiring issue I had would require a professional, but the staff that works at this location is very knowledgeable, and Lowes has tasteful and useful products for a vast number of needs, especially repairs. After being helped all of my repair needs, I had was resolved, and I left the store satisfied. I can't remember the last time I left a store that pleased. Additionally, the manager demonstrated how to use the appliances (so I wouldn't hurt myself). As far as the customer service aspect is concerned.... I was treated very well. Every department I went to (because I also shopped for plants) the staff was very knowledgeable. I can't speak for other Lowes locations, but as far as this Lowes is concerned my experience here was ideal. As far as Lowe's in general they have a multitude of products, and remedies for home needs. I recommend that if you want to visit Lowe's that you visit this location. read more

I'm so disappointed with Lowe's. I've always had good luck with them in the past, but this experience is getting worse by the minute. Buy a house full of appliances and first they can't deliver when they are scheduled to even though I called days in advance to ensure they could, they were late for the rescheduled date and time and then they were supposed to hook things up, but they won't hook up the drain line for the washing machine, won't hook up the dryer vent because it's not in their job description, they won't hook up the water line for the fridge "because the line is old and they don't want to be responsible if it leaks". I went into the Lowes store 3 weeks ago and purchased a refrigerator. They gave me the delivery date which was 05/18/2020. On Sunday I haven't heard to see what time they were coming so I called them and got the run around. I spoke with someone who said she would get back to me and she did. Said I needed to cancel my order and she can refund me card since the item is discontinued. I said how is this discontinued but I could still order this on the website. She spoke to manager who said its actually just outta stock. Website said June, Store told me Sept. I asked for the refund. My complaint is not that I couldn't get the refrigerator but the lack of communication. Why wasn't I notified? Why didn't someone call me and inform me of this? Why wait till my delivery date? Isn't someone responsible for making these calls? I'm disappointed but I can always choose another refrigerator but I will not go back to Lowes. Communication and Customer service is key in any transaction and without those you got a mess. I understand were in a pandemic but lack of customer service is never good! read more
