This Lowes location is chronically out of stock, understaffed, and has failed to fulfill every online order I've attempted to place. Most recently, I ordered a vacuum, which the Lowes website listed as being in stock, ready to pick up the next day. When I go to pick up, the estimated time to fulfill the order moved to 7 days in the future. I spoke to 3 employees and none of them were able to resolve the mistake or contact a manager for assistance. This is not the first time this location has listed items in stock online, only for me to drive there and find out the items are not in stock. This is the last time I will waste time and money ordering through Lowes. Employees at this location are generally courteous, and eager to help, but they seem to be handicapped by a lack of support from the company. They are not able to help customers navigate these kinds of problems. It's also possible the website itself is faulty, giving customers unrealistic expectations for pick up. read more

Linda was absolutely horrible. Her customer service skills are possibly the worst I have ever seen. While doing self checkout an item required her verification. She immediately rolled her eyes and told me to "get out the way" and that "I got her standing here all cold too close to the door" I don't go to Lowe's expected to be treated like royalty, but ignoring me and scanning her card would have been better than the interaction I had with her. read more

My favorite garden center. I mostly come here to buy seeds for my garden. They do have a huge selection of seeds. It is a beginning of the year, so all seeds a beautifully organized. These shelves can get a little messy in the fall, but it is not an issue. I also got a satsuma tree as a present from a friend last year. At that time tree looked dry, so they sold it to her at a discounted price. It's growing happy and healthy now, it just needed water. I gave a 4 stars review because I did have a minor issue before. I came to the store at the end of the last year to get some supplies for the yard. It took me a long time to find a person who cuts the wood. I told him I will be making a raised garden bed, wood needs to be cut even. Well, it wasn't. The person wasn't happy when I pointed it out.They also don't cut treated wood because it can damage the machine. So I had to buy wood treatment separately. Again, service was very slow. But everything worked out. I have my garden bed built and all the seeds I need. read more

We went to the garden section to buy yard stones and saw they had fruit trees on sale. There's always something good at a discount, and today it was grapefruit trees 70% off! Perfectly fine grapefruit trees. Other flowers were on sale too. There's a gentleman that works there that offered us discounts on being military, and mentioned a couple others, which was really nice. The woman that was the manager (I think) helped us load the stones into the car and provided us with a plastic liner to protect the interior. I went back a couple times to get more stones and supplies and had great experiences with the other workers also. Not sure how the inside checkouts fair, but the garden center has their customer service down. read more

I placed an order for curbside pickup. I received the email telling me the order was ready for pickup. I used the app to notify them that I was OTW. Got there, checked in. Waited about 10 minutes.....no response. Called the store...the woman told me I would have to come into the store because of this that and the other. Told her I could not....so then I was put on hold for almost 10 minutes while she would "try to contact the internet dept". She never came back to the phone. When I hung up and called back NO ONE ANSWERED! Twice! If the store isn't staffed for curbside pickup then DON'T OFFER IT at checkout. Automation can't possibly be any worse than this. read more

I've been going to this Lowe's for 8 years. Always friendly people. On my last trip I went to get wood to make a "hoise float". It was late. Customer service is non-existent. Pressed the help button on the aisle several times and also had customer service page someone. Almost 40 minutes later...nothing. I had to buy a few of what I needed at that store and drive across town to another store to get the rest. I couldn't get my 10% volume discount st either store because the 2nd store didn't have the 14 I needed. That cost me $60 extra. Total lack of customer service. read more

There are some good Lowe's stores in the NOLA area. Sadly, this isn't one of them. It's nearly impossible to find someone to answer questions, and when you do find an associate they do their best to ignore you. I've never felt as invisible as I did while shopping in this store today. The Lowe's store on Veteran's in Metairie may be a little farther, but it's worth the extra time if customer service matters to you. read more

This looked to be a pretty standard Lowe's on my sole visit here. Christmas stuff up in mid-October right next to the Halloween section was groan-inducing, but I imagine that's par for the course. (I wonder if that's what gave Tim Burton the idea for Nightmare Before Christmas?) My sole reason was visiting here was to acquire some new stakes for my dome tent, as I was camping in my friend's backyard and one of the stakes was just bent up beyond the point of usability. I wasn't sure where to look or if I'd have to wing it with a similar item not specifically made for that use. I found an employee, explained the situation, and he directed me to the outside garden section, saying I'd find something that would work in the first aisle out there. I headed for the garden section but found caution tape draped across the automatic sliding door, so I hightailed it back to where that same employee had been working. He said that door was just out of order and directed me to another sliding door closer to the front of the store. So I get out there and of course it's Lowes so the frigging first aisle is like a quarter mile long. Fortunately there was another employee in that very aisle who noticed my head in full swivel and scan mode and asked if I he could help me find something. I gave him the whole rundown of my tent situation and he led me to where several kinds of metal stakes were, not much further down the aisle. He remained engaged for a couple minutes more as I verbally mulled it over, comparing and contrasting what they had. I ended up going with stakes that were considerably wider, pointier and with much more pronounced hooks on the top than the stakes that had come with the tent. I was concerned that maybe the stakes were actually too wide for the metal loops attached to the base of the tent I had to drive them through, but they ended up fitting just fine. These particular stakes came in a 5 pack and my tent takes 6 stakes. Well, once I saw how much better these stakes were I ended up using all 5, only using one of the original stakes. Wouldn't you know it, that stake was the only one that ended up coming back up out of the ground after a couple nights camping. That tent will still stay up with one stake not driven in, though, and that's usually what happened with the manufacturers stakes. Sometimes multiple stakes would even come out cause those stakes are garbage! It took getting some new stakes from Lowes for me to see how woefully inadequate those stakes are. Too many times I struggled with them, blaming my lack of mechanical aptitude for the difficulty I was having. Everything else about that tent is ship shape except for those lousy stakes. Good riddance, shitty stakes! I've read a few reviews on here about bad customer service at this Lowes, and maybe I just caught em on a good day, but I had no problems here. I'd come back if I needed something else if I find myself visiting friends in Gentilly again. And I need to find one of those nice wide stakes from someplace up here in Michigan to replace that one last stupid pin with a little slanted arm on the end that came with my dome tent. read more

Dear people of Lowe's- Sometimes y'all's store is great, and sometimes things there are not so great. But you remain friendly, which I appreciate. But today I'd like to let you know that your 1/4" luan sheets have a good side, and a rough side- that's normal. But this means that when you apply the price tags stickers, it would be SO great if you could apply them to the rough side. I bought 9 sheets of 2'x4' quarter inch luan the other day, and when I went to paint it before installation, I discovered that EVERY SINGLE SHEET had the price sticker applied to the good side. And these are not the easy-peel-off stickers, these are 1" square very very sticky tags. They can't be taken off with a razor blade as that tends to leave gouges in the wood. One is forced to take several minutes gingerly scraping the messy business off, and then several more minutes sanding the remaining goop off. And that still leaves some stains in the grain... I know it sounds like a minor thing, but it made my Saturday morning renovation plans take twice as long! Thanks in advance for your understanding. read more

They were having a sale on patio furniture so I went in to grab two patio umbrellas (8 feet each). I carried them to the register and to my car and was not once asked by any of the employees I walked by if I needed help. The store is organized nicely and clean. After seeing a mouse in our home we were panicking and went to Lowe's to see what options there were to help get rid of the issue. While there, Nathaniel asked if we needed help and offered us a lot of helpful suggestions and advice on what our options were for traps, repellent, poison, etc. I showed up being scared of dealing with the issue and left feeling empowered to tackle the problem head on. This store is easy to get to from the freeway and has ample parking. The staff is friendly and usually very helpful. We have come here for a bit of everything from plants to tools. I like to look around the store for inspiration in my own home. One of my favorite areas is the garden section. I have purchased many plants from their clearance racks and have good turnouts with most of them. Some plants on the racks are half off and some get marked down to .50 cents! I have had keys made here with quick service and keys worked perfectly. I like than I can find specialty pieces like knobs, tapes, or a certain size screw here. We appreciate the discount that they give to active military and veterans. Customer service was a slow when I needed to return something but overall this store keeps me coming back. read more

This Lowe's is convenient to my house in Gentilly so tends to be our go to hardware store. The staff here are friendly and helpful if you seek them out and the store is never very crowded. They often only have one register open or the self checkout which is a bit erratic especially with odd shaped items. read more

I've had so many bad experiences at this Lowe's. 1. Their delivery staff is dishonest and incompetent. They told me my tub would arrive on Monday. They never showed up or even called me on Monday. When I finally reached someone at the store, they said they hadn't gotten around the ordering the tub yet and it would take at least a week once they did. 2. I tried to return some extra flooring material and they wouldn't let me because they claimed I had already returned it. Yet I had the material with me. Obviously I hadn't returned it. The employees did not care about this logical infallacy and told me to call customer service. Customer service told me to talk to the store employees. No one was able to resolve the issue. 3. I bought a weed whacker and it came missing a part. Lowe's refused to send me the missing part. read more

Recently my husband and I have been planning on painting the rooms in our house. Every time that we have been here the people working the paint desk have been very friendly and helpful. We chose our colors and were ready to buy, so we brought it up to the desk, and the lady thought we might have the wrong base so she double checked everything for us. They have a greeter at the door who can tell you what aisle whatever you need is located, which is extremely helpful in such a large space. We used Lowes to buy and install all of our blinds. It was a very good experience. Someone comes to your house, measures your windows and recommends what size blinds to order. Once your blinds come in they come back and hang them. I couldn't believe how quickly the woman came through and hung 13 blinds when it took me about 2 hours just to hang one. We also used Lowes to buy and install our washing machine and dryer. They were exactly on time and made sure everything worked before leaving. For a big corporation we have always had a good experience here and are glad they can take care of our needs. read more

When my mom's refrigerator went out and I had to find a similar unit, I did a search but discovered they were hard to come by in any reasonable amount of time. And of the few major retailers, one (Best Buy) didn't even deliver in my area for most everything they had. I finally found an available item at Lowes, and placed an online order, with a promised delivery date of Dec. 7th. So we waited and waited for word of confirmation of the promised date. Finally it came, but as it turned out, it was false information anyway. Somehow our side by side WASN'T included in the shipment as PROMISED, and turned out we wouldn't be getting it until after Christmas. Ugh ugh ugh. My experience here honestly ruined my entire day it was so poor. I knew exactly what I needed and had measured the window size. I just wanted to talk to someone about the options they had in stock. I went to the windows department and clicked the buzzer for assistance and someone came up and told me to go to a different desk. I walked over to the other desk to find no one there. I buzzed again and after a few minutes someone came by. An employee finally arrived and I explained I was looking for add-on blinds and had measured the door and window already. He showed me the two options in store and I asked what he recommended and he said he didn't know. I began to read the labels out loud while he TEXTED and ignored me. Then I decided which was best and he agreed. When he finished texting he took the box down off the shelf. One box had a sale label on it but was opened so he offered to get the second box. I went to check out and the item came up full price. I explained to the cashier that it was on sale and should be about $30 less. She called the windows department and no one answered. Then she called again and a worker said he'd go look and see. Five minutes passed and no word. The cashier then asked me to walk back with her to the department (with a huge box in tow). We walked back and I showed her the sale label. She ran into the employee she called and he said he "couldn't find it so stopped looking." I showed her the sale label and she said there must be a defect on the one box. I pulled it down from the shelf and opened it and it looked fine. She called over the employee again and he said he had no idea. I told her I wouldn't risk it and would get the full price one. We went back to check out and the original texting employee walked in the door and the cashier was like I've been calling you! He said he had no idea what was wrong with the box. Granted I should have asked to speak with a manager but I was so ready to get out of there as a quick errand had turned into a huge project. Not only did I not get the sale price I basically had to run around the store and try to convince them the item was on sale and the employees showed no remorse or concern for the customer. This Lowe's is conveniently located on Elysian Fields near 6-10. It has everything you would expect to find at a home improvement store. They have some home decor as well as lawn care equipment, painting supplies, tools, gadgets, light bulbs, you know...the usual. They also have a good sized gardening section which is where I tend to spend most of my time and money. read more

To give you a gauge on my hardware knowledge, let's just say I think I'm really slick for knowing what a Phillips screwdriver is. The day I figured that shit out is a day I put right up there with my college graduation in terms of personal development milestones. So it's no surprise that every time I step foot in one of these big box hardware stores, I end up looking as lost as Courtney Love in a convent. To make matters worse, it seems I can never find anyone to help me in these places. That all changed when I went to this Lowe's. I come here a lot due to it's proximity to my house, and the fact that I am a new homeowner doing lots of projects! As other reviewers have mentioned, service can be very hit or miss. Sometimes they only have one lane open for checkout and it take FOR. EV. ER.! Sometimes I have trouble even finding an employee, it's like a zombie apocalypse in there. Recently, I think they have stepped up their game, people have actually ASKED ME if I need help! The paint department is especially helpful. The people in the garden department are really nice too. They have all the typical Lowe's products, at the typical Lowe's prices. It is kind of weird all the men who I think are day laborers looking for work who wait at the entrance to the parking lot... but they have never bothered me. read more

How does this place stay in business? Seriously, if it wasn't for Walmart on Tchoupitoulas, this would win first prize for worst operated business in town. Nobody who works here, even in management, seems to be aware of what a POS this place is. The only reason I ever find myself walking in here is because of the proximity. And I"m about to start driving further just because of how much of my time this place has wasted as of late. So today, for at least the second time I've noticed, they had a hand written sign on a paper towel that their glass machine was "out of order." I have my doubts of course, when you're obviously understaffed and many of the staff don't seem to care about anything other than their smartphone, it's an easy out to claim your equipment doesn't work. So I found the assistant manager (at least that's what it said on his nametag) and asked him if the glass cutting machine was actually out of order. He just looked at me and said "I have no idea." Really, buddy? It's your JOB to know what's going on in the store. If you DON"T KNOW, then why don't you get off your butt and go find out? If anyone has a suggestion for better store close to the 9th Ward, I'm all ears. I'd think that corporate would care about what a shameful craphole this store is, but I guess they make enough money off the people in the neighborhood who don't have the money or means to drive further. read more

We ordered a washer and dryer from them on 2/22/19. They told us it would be delivered 3/3/19. March 3 comes and nothing. Not a call, text, or email. We call the store and are either constantly getting transferred to another employee "who will help" or just flat out getting disconnected after being on hold for awhile. So I go to the store in-person Monday 3/4/19. The customer service rep tries to help us and call the appliance person who sold us the washer and dryer (Shannon) and delivery service manager. Consistently I heard her tell them "He's in the store now", which makes me believe they were probably telling her "Not now! Tell him we will call back!" or something. Ha. Finally, after an hour and a half of waiting, an employee comes out and explains the washer we bought was not in-stock and/or not available at the discount we bought it for but no worries, they will let us keep the discount and make sure they get the washer in and deliver us our washer/dryer on Wednesday 3/6/19. I get mistakes happen and whatnot, but what if we never went to the store? Were they just going to keep our money and never say anything? We had to go to them to rectify everything! Not the other way around. Come to find out we were never even on the delivery schedule for 3/3/19 so someone messed up big time. Anyway, I begrudgingly accepted the new 3/6/19 delivery but my gf was still not appeased and went to corporate to voice her disappointment in how the whole situation was handled. Funny enough, someone from the store called her no less than 30 mins after and apologized and fast tracked our washer and dryer to us that Monday night. Once again, I get mistakes happen but it would really do this store well to treat their customers with care and not have it where the customer has to rectify a wrongful ordeal. Shannon and the store's manager Cyrus are two people who could use a workshop in leadership, accountability, and customer service. The 1 star is only because Felicia (customer service rep), Tyrone and Troy (the two men who delivered and installed our machines) were of the utmost professionalism and helped us out.
