Customer service became exceptional when I needed it most! Associate Delroy Williams in the window/door department came to my aid when I needed help when an expensive door unit cracked and the vendor would not help in any way. He called in store manager,Chad Hall and together they worked diligently to resolve my problem. This was not a quick fix. Hours of customer service went into solving this problem. This is the support you need when you are taking on a home improvement project and something goes wrong. These are really good men working their hardest to help you. A few weeks ago, I purchased a dryer and paid Lowes for a delivery and installation. They did not explain to me that if anything went wrong, I would not be dealing with Lowes but a partnered company. My dryer was delivered and installed. Before they arrived, I called the delivery company because it showed in a text that it was delivered, but it was not. After calling 3 times with 3 different explanations of why that happened, they finally arrived. They had to removed my bifold door in order to reach the area of installation. The installation went well. To my negligence, I did not close the bifold door while the technician was still in my house. He did not tell he broke my door track. When I went to close the door, it fell. I asked my son to put it back in the track. That is when we found out the track was broken. After calling both the Lowes store and Lowes headquarters, they told me I had to deal with their partnered delivery company. I contacted the delivery company. I was told I had to obtain 3 estimates and send it to them for them to decide what they would approve. I paid Lowes for the installation not this company. Now I have to do the 'footwork ' for their negligence. This is a small repair. I called a few companies and they want $50 to just come out. This is unacceptable business practice. Lowes is a large company that does not care about the small average customer. I normally look over these things, but I'm not in the same physical shape I was in, in years past. This store is a major disaster. No help and their install partners are sub par at best. Had a privacy fence and chain link fence replacement job done that took 3 months to complete and installation sucked. Had to hire another contractor to fix all the screw ups. Just your standard big box home improvement store. Ok inventory selection and very few associates to help you find what you need. No one asks if they can help you...some even avoid eye contact , so they don't have to help you. You have to track someone down for help. There are a handful of employees who are eager to help...especially in the paint department. Currently, their lumber is extremely green & wet, so it shrinks significantly after installation. We even tried letting ours sit in the carport for several to allow it to dry...still didn't help. These boards were all touching after installation. Within a week or two, some have shrunk more than a half inch & pulled the screws through the boards. So much for top choice lumber! Maybe a little competition from Home Depot would help! read more

It's not often I have a great experience at Lowe's, but I wanted to share this because it is rare. Took my Mom who uses a walker to replace her mini blind. When we arrived at the aisle, an employee named Steve was already assisting another couple. He overheard me talking out loud about how to measure the correct blind I brought with me, and comparing the dimensions on the box. He explained how to match up the right size and then continued helping the other couple. Well, wouldn't you know, the size I needed was empty on the shelf. This has to to be the worse place to buy something and have it delivered. (Lowes at New Bern, NC) I ordered patio furniture and paid to have it put together. It came as promised. But, the furniture was not put together. They took it back and it appeared it went into a dark hole. Had to go to the store to find out where the furniture was. The store's assistant manager was great. Promised me the furniture woulkd be put together and delivered the next day. But, then the warehouse got involved and again it went into that dark hole. Finally talked to somebody after they hung up on me 3 X. Promised an AM delivery on Thursday. Now I see where it willnot be delivered until late this afternoon. NEVER AGAIN!!! Lowe's you stink. We purchased a washer/drier for our daughter's apartment! Sales rep was a nice gentleman and very helpful! No problem with the sales reps at all! The trouble started on delivery, truck said it be there around 12, but showed up at 9:00am, good thing we were home! Took them less then 20 minutes to set up! (Never tested the washer/dryer before leaving the apartment! ( this is when the trouble started) The washer worked perfectly! But had a leaking problem! The drier never started, my husband looked up on how to start it all was done correctly, still no luck ! He called for service call, just more problems again, they blamed us that's it not working properly! Come Friday no one showed up for repair! My husband and I went to the store, again the sales representative did his best, we were told they bring us a new drier and take the drier that wasn't working properly they be there Tuesday afternoon! Tuesday we got a call they be there in 20 minutes!!! Well I was there for a hour, my husband took over he was there for three hours, no one came, no phone call, he called the store and the driver both no one answered the phone! At the moment we have a three day old drier new that doesn't work, a charge on my credit card for a new drier that doesn't work, 749.00 down the drain! I guess it's time to refuse the charges for incompetents and items sold that is not useful! GOOD BYE LOWE'S waist of our day and hours away from working! Steve went above and beyond to make sure I got the Valspar product that had to be special ordered through their Valspar rep. I used EE2036 Copper Gleam from Lowes in St. Peters in 2017 and just bought a new house in New Bern. I was set on the color and when I went in to find the color at Lowes, it was no longer available. I reached out to Valspar, and they pointed me to connect with a Manager who could special order it though their rep. $200 worth of paint may not be a big deal to many, but it is cover 4 sets of French Patio doors they also sold, and their hardware. So it certainly adds up and completes the project. Also- Shout out to the gentleman in the doors area who was fabulous about making sure there were 4 doors to be delivered and were available. This location has been fabulous for my remodel. Above and beyond! Paint team super helpful as well. Kudos to all. Photos in future! read more

In the last week I've been to 7 Lowe's stores, Cary North Carolina, Washington North Carolina, 2 stores in Jacksonville North Carolina, 2 stores in Wilmington, And one store between Jacksonville and Wilmington. I live in New Bern North Carolina, And I can Say out of the 7 stores 4 mentioned ours is the worst. It would seem the manager here has retail experience but knows nothing about building and it shows. Please Lowe's corporate send us a good manager. We need building materials stocked regularly not men's work clothes. Lowe's in New Bern, NC is the absolute worst store in this area when it comes to Customer Service. In December 2023, I spent over $10k for flooring. I also used Lowe's for the installation or rather they hired the work out to a company called Service Pro. Upon completion of the work they did, I have had to have them back 4 times to fix the terrible job they did. But what is unbelievable is that they moved my $1,200 range and now it doesn't work. Lowes customer support which is an even bigger joke, said there is nothing they can do. So here I am a month later havlng to pay to have my range repaired or replaced. Bought a refrigerator as mine quit. Bought on Monday, supposed to deliver today,Wednesday. Received text saying driver was 37 minutes away. My husband and I saw the truck pull up in our driveway, stop, then turn around and left. This was around 3:40 in the afternoon. Called to see what happened. Driver went home! Was told that if a driver is home, can't go back out until the next day! Guess a driver makes his own hours and delivers when he feels like it! Not the first time we have had piss poor service! We made the mistake or ordering countertops and backsplash through LOWE'S New Bern North Carolina They were very happy take our full payment, thousands of dollars, which they required, up front. Four months later we were still waiting for the job to be finished. Their contractors were sub-par and did not do what they were contracted to do. Our many, many calls to the LOWE'S salesperson, asst managers and stote managers were useless. They would promise to look into the problems and then do nothing. We finally contacted the district manager ourselves and he was helpful. When asked if we wanted to finish the job with Lowes or get a partial refund, we of course requested the refund. We had a great experience at this Lowe's home improvement center. My wife and I were shopping for a few items and one of them was a specific type of brush that my wife wanted to get. We looked in the area where we thought it would be but couldn't find it. We saw a Lowe's employee coming towards us and he asked if he could help us with anything. My wife explained to him what she was looking for so he looked it up on his phone app. He suggested we go to the masonary area or the cleaning supplies area. So we looked in both areas only to be disappointed with the results. Next thing I know, this gentleman was coming towards us. He said he had looked at other options on his phone app and said we might find it in the auto supplies area, which we did. I am so grateful to this young man for hunting us down to give us this added information, which led to us finding what my wife wanted. I wish I could remember his name but I do recall him telling us earlier that he had just begun working there recently. Customer service and courtesy surely are not yet dead in this day and age. We spent 8k on flooring for our home remodeling... after the sale delivery showed up 2 1/2 hours before the scheduled delivery. I have to drive over 100 miles to get to the house. They never called when he was sitting in our driveway at 12:30 and expected to just leave it in my driveway. So we went back to purchase kitchen cabinets after wandering around the department for an hour. Was told call the store and ask for a certain associate there's nobody available today. I guess The $8000 was enough for them and they don't need any more of my business. The floors did turned out great. Paid for $5000 worth of carper in December and was promised 10 day install as carpet was in stock. Every 2 weeks I would go back to the store only to be told 2 more weeks. Finally cancelled in late February when they told me it would be April before they could do it. Then ordered $6000 worth of appliances (in stock) and got a computerized call that says they were on their way... never showed. Called the store and they said the computer calling is something they can't control but promised me Monday delivery first thing... never showed. Don't even try to call customer service. Giving up after hours of trying to get someone to answer the phones. Missed 2 days of work and now have to drive back to the store to try and get some service. read more

06 May 2020 @ 1400 Shopped at Lowes at 1400 Lowes Blvd New Bern NC 28562 Shopped at this Lowes for 1.5 hrs. 03 employees of their own sections did not know where items were when asked. Getting passed this...we figured it out. Here's the biggest complaint... We get to the "self checkout"... get the items scanned...placed into the bags...turn on the help light... No one around...soon...all of the people at the self checkout needed help....you guessed it ...no one around. I walk over to the managers office to right of door...we tell him. He say okay...5 minutes later.. Someone shows up to help us. She asks politely how cannot help you...we state we would like to use our military discount that is advertised and honored by Lowes. Guess what folks... She stated yes you do rate it...BUT... You have to pack up all of the items you want to buy and go stand in the regular line that is not self checkout... and over there they can give you your military discount. I asked...you mean to tell me that the self CHECKOUT REGISTER...which is operating under LOWS in the same store...15 feet away...cannot ring up a 10% discount ? She stated emphatically yes sir...I know this seems ridiculous but it is true and people complain about this all the time. Now...some of you are saying relax...you and your discount blah blah blah... But if many customers inadvertently town so close to the military bases around them cannot provide a service that THEY ADVERTISE...and you find out that this billion dollar company cannot provide a discount because of the register location issues or data base software to integrate one to another ... I think we see where this can be a problem. She took care of us by packing up our items and cutting us in front of the long regular (non-self checkout). I spoke to her again and she told me sir this is probably our biggest complaint and I'm sorry. Well LOWES. As good as it gets in New Bern for the sort of things that you buy here. There isn't a Home Depot (not that I could find, at least), and this city is very spread out. You'll either find the location convenient or not, depending on your starting point. The first visit, we needed to rent a truck to deliver some stuff to the boat. No dice...they rent neither trucks nor trailers. There is a U-Haul place a couple of miles away, though. The second visit, we needed some hardware and PVC pipe for the boat. Score! read more

I am writing about my experience with Lowes of New Bern. Lowes of New Bern has a customer service problem in New Bern. One of its biggest problem is its lack of competition in the area (There is no Home Depot in the area) so the apparent attitude is "So what who cares". I bought almost 12K worth of kitchen cabinets and $6.5k of appliances in May of 2022. Most of the cabinets arrived within six weeks with the exception of one cabinet that housed the trash can unit. That unit arrived a couple of weeks later (around the end of July). Instead of Lowes notifying me when it arrived, they decided to sell it to another customer. I had my contractor order the unit again late in July and that unit never came in. Meanwhile this product delayed the remodeling of my kitchen because the countertops could not be installed without the cabinet. So without a kitchen I had to live between my camper and my home. I stopped in to check on the status of the cabinet several times. I spoke with the Cabinets Center manager "Jamal" and asked him what was he going to do about the inconvenience. He said that he would discuss it with me when the cabinet when it arrived. The cabinet arrived around the 3rd week of October but I was never called. I later learned that when the cabinet arrived, Lowes decided to deal with my contractor and offer him an inconvenience award instead of contact me, the person who bought and paid for the cabinet instead of me the owner of the house who was gravely inconvenience by their lack of customer service and ineptitude. I am hoping that Lowes upper management cars enough about their customer service enough to correct misgivings like this. During this time, I spent about $40k in this Lowes because it is the only show in town. I worked with another department and the customer service was stellar. I was really frustrated when I first got here because I called before I came looking for firewood. I was told they had firewood in stock. When I arrived at the store I had to speak to three different Associates who sent me in three different directions for firewood both inside and outside. A family of four, just had a baby and finally saved enough money for a dishwasher because ours bit the dust during the hurricane this last fall. We ordered the dishwasher on the 1st of the year and hadn't been contacted for installation in 14 days (we were told it wouldn't take more than 7 days). Staff could not locate my order. Just listening to them discuss it demonstrated chaos. After about a half hour I had to leave. Impressed with the quick and very professional manner of service from the cement department. Needed bags of cement, more than I can handle in carrying and these guy happily. Happily. Almost proudly comes to aid!!! First he greets, apologizes form my wait (1 minute or less of a wait), carries the bags onto cart and insists he does them himself. Then he takes it up to the cashier, and outside to load into my car. Before he loads it in to my car he places a plastic covering to protect my car interior. About 2 weeks ago I posted a lengthy very critical review of Lowes-particularly their delivery service. This site works! Within a few days I got a call from Lowes and they were very apologetic. I told them about our delivery problems-had 2 trees scheduled for delivery and they brought only one tree and it wasn't ours. I told the caller I was convinced that our trees were still in their area where they stage deliveries. He called back about 30 minutes later and he had found the trees and they were delivered for free the next day. I must admit that I wish I didn't have to go through this process, but the complaint did get to the right person and Lowes absolutely resolved the problem. Customer service is terrible. There were 6 employees chatting away in the customer service center as people waited in line for them to assist them. They were not only rude to me and other customers, but then said my military ID isn't a form of ID to pick up online orders. Even though the email stated I could use it. I walked there and didn't drove, so now I had to walk back to get my driver's license. This isn't the first time I was treated so rudely. For now on, I'll just have my items delivered. LOWES in New Bern NC is not a competent store to deal with, and they need to learn that an apology is only good if it is sincere. This store delivered incorrect fence parts, then LOWES falsely promised me several times that the correct fence parts have been ordered. The fence installers were only able to set two correct end posts and one corner post in concrete....the uninstalled gate is correct but all the panels are wrong. I ordered my fence in late winter and was assured that it would be installed soon since I was ahead of the later orders that were placed by other customers in late spring. Now the very pleasant fence installer is booked solid 6 days a week until July and will do his best to work my project in....if or when I finally receive the correct parts from LOWES. After about three weeks of false promises I recently listened to a phone message that indicates the correct fence parts have been ordered. Evidently the delay ordering the correct parts was because LOWES never came to my home to pick up the incorrect parts. I requested LOWES take away the incorrect parts from the very day I learned from the fence installers that most of the parts were incorrect. LOWES in New Bern has scheduled a truck to pick up the incorrect parts three times, and I selected YES to the automated system request to do the pick up three times, but so far LOWES has stood me up with a no show three times. I have expressed to a project coordinator, store employees, truck scheduler, and LOWES national corporate customer service representatives that I am sickened by their scripted line "on behalf of LOWES I apologize for ______." and then fill in the blank for whatever was their latest goof or false promise. It now comes down to a matter of integrity and competence was to whether or not LOWES will do the right things. I have mentioned to customer service and several other LOWES employees that the fence is partly for my home security since I had a lot of tools stolen from my shed, a second attempt one night when someone was trying to force open the shed door, and that same evening that person tried to force open the sliding door to my sunroom. I have waited 6 months for my HOA to do home repairs along the rear of my townhouse/gutter and damaged wood around the shed door and supposedly those repairs were to begin this week....but the HOA repairmen cannot access the area they need to do the work because of the pallet of incorrect fence parts that LOWES will not pick up. I am handicapped and have to struggle to reach my large trash can and large recycle container on the other side of the LOWES pallet. My AC serviceman could not perform the annual spring cleaning of my unit because the pallet of LOWES incorrect fence materials was in his way. No one at LOWES is demonstrating an appropriate level of caring and they continually express meaningless apologies. What we need in New Bern, NC is a HOME DEPOT so this LOWES store will not feel so overwhelmed with customers when they put callers on hold for extremely long periods of time. What I need is for LOWES to pick up the incorrect fence parts, deliver the correct fence parts, and let us all pray the very nice installers have time to come back to complete the work they started for my fence. read more
