When it comes to home improvement stores, Lowe's is probably my least favorite. There is something about the overall atmosphere of this particular store that is depressing. Each time I come here I seem to dislike it even more. One of the things I dislike most about it is that it is really hard to find an employee, and I am talking about every department. For example, when I walk into The Home Depot, I am almost always greeted with a smile and a "Hello." Within the first minute or two of being in The Home Depot, I can usually spot at least 10 employees. Lowe's on the other hand, I can spend 20 minutes in there and am lucky if I see 10 employees. The whole store just lacks that friendly and helpful vibe, not to mention their prices are a bit higher than those of The Home Depot. As far as selection, it really just depends which department you are in. They do offer Craftsman tools which the other home improvement stores do not. The store is always clean and well kept, which gave them 3 stars instead of two. read more

Lowe's Home Improvement requires immediate managerial and operational attention regarding both customer service standards and employee conduct. We entered the store to purchase a specific product that was important for an immediate project and operational need. During the shopping process, we sought clarification from multiple employees regarding the product's functionality and whether it was the best fit for the situation at hand. Rather than receiving informed assistance or competent customer service, we were repeatedly met with lackluster responses, minimal product knowledge, and employees attempting to shift responsibility onto the next staff member instead of resolving the issue professionally. Because no employee appeared capable of providing a clear or confident explanation regarding the product itself, we specifically clarified the return policy prior to purchase. Based upon the representations made at that time, we proceeded with the purchase under the understanding that the item could be returned if it ultimately proved unsuitable. To be clear, the concept of the product itself was innovative and useful, and it did perform the intended task in the short term. We were genuinely glad we found it when we did. However, after practical use, it became apparent that several aspects of the product were incompatible with the circumstances and requirements of the project. As a result, the product needed to be returned. We returned to the store fully compliant with the return process, with the receipt and all required materials necessary for a routine and successful return. At that point, the interaction with Carla, the employee handling the return, became entirely unacceptable. Carla approached the interaction with a belligerent, hostile, and antagonistic attitude that immediately escalated what should have been a standard customer service matter. Her conduct was rude, aggressive, disrespectful, and unprofessional throughout the exchange. Rather than processing the return in accordance with store policy, she made the interaction personal and created unnecessary conflict. Her demeanor reflected a serious lack of professionalism and poor judgment for someone occupying a public-facing customer service position. More broadly, this experience reflected a larger pattern within this location. Numerous staff members, both indoors and outdoors, presented themselves in ways that were physically volatile, aggressive, dismissive, antagonistic, and ill-suited for customer interaction. This is not merely a matter of poor service; it reflects deeper concerns regarding management oversight, staff training, accountability, and workplace culture. Carla's conduct in particular warrants immediate review and corrective action. Employees representing a national retail chain should not be permitted to engage with customers in such an openly hostile and confrontational manner. read more

carpet calculation for two bedrooms. nice guy came out measured for carpet he quoted for 900 square feet. I was thinking damn, that's much larger than I thought. so I measured. I shared everything up. I came up with 653' sq. I than added 20% for waste. 783' sq. I spoke to installer he said actual square footage was 607' sq. he said they were adding 33% waste? I get that doesn't add up either. at 900' sq first quote was closer to 42%. I'm supposed to pay for 900'sq. do your measurements. that's nuts! read more

Despite the fact that I've spent thousands of dollars at Missoula Lowe's in the past nine years, including recarpeting my late dad's house up on the golf course to replace his ugly old carpets so we could sell the place, when I went in today to try to get my nice trailer (mobile home) recarpeted, I was immediately told, "We don't do trailers." My ex-husband (who was there to help me because I can't hear) and I were both stricken. "What?" After recovering a bit from my second-hand unbelievable information, and then another few moments of conversation, I said, "I've spent thousands of dollars here on my dad's house alone (never mind MY house). You'd think I would get some kind of credit for that." Nope. They don't DO installations in trailers. As we were walking away, I said, "They did the DISHWASHER installation in my trailer eight years ago!" Glenn said, "Maybe dishwashers don't count as 'trailer trash.'" Which was funny. So Glenn, who can hear, called two other carpet suppliers/installers here in MY HOME TOWN of 58 years (never mind the generations), and neither of THEM has ever heard of refusing to install carpets in mobile homes, either. I will never go to Lowe's again for any reason. read more

I have been working with Lowe's for most of this summer as I slowly get my yard in shape. I think it's about time I say how much I have appreciated their service. Today in particular, Chris and Dan, helped my son load nearly two hundred pavers onto our truck. They were extremely helpful and kind. Since I wrote my last review I have had all my information restored back into the Lowe's system. I still shop at Lowes as they are much cheaper than the locals shop, and I get a military discount on a lot of items. I have to drive nearly an hour one way to get to Lowes and must the time they're worth it. read more

On most trips, despite your best planning, there's always something you end up needing, but don't have. Sometimes this isn't a big deal, sometimes it is. On this occasion, it was a HUGE deal because the trip was my family's first major RV adventure and I needed a pair of pliers to hook up our water supply properly. Fortunately, Lowe's was literally less than a ten minute walk from the Missoula KOA campground where we were staying. Like most other Lowe's I've visited, it was: * HUGE. * Well stocked (except for the space fans). * Friendly staff. Not, however, knowledgeable as two the workers sent me on a wild goose chase looking for space fans. * Conveniently located just off of Hwy 93 (Reserve Road). Having lived in a number of cities, I've shopped at different Lowe's, and have a good comparison of them all. This store at times, I've had to look hard for an employee. However during my recent purchase I called it in. The sales person had to put me on hold three times to check with what he said was the Manager? When we finished he hung up on me before I could ask for an email receipt or to make sure my Vets discount was applied! I wondered so much that I called and spoke with their customer service the next day and in fact the order was messed up. Finally when it was delivered, the driver hit my roof and damaged it. The next day, not hearing from anyone I called the store and asked to speak with the Store Manager who said he was aware. While they had already put in a claim with their insurance company, either the Manager or the delivery Manager called me to apologize or advise me of anything! Very poor customer service and as is evident they do not care about their customers. Go to Home Depot! read more

Always a pleasure shopping at Lowe's EXCEPT for today's experience. David, in appliances, displayed a deep sense of laziness. Anything that was asked, he commented on why we couldn't get an item. He did not offer any alternative models/items in stock. Asked for additional information about a an item and he suggested we google it. I will continue to shop Lowe's; however, will steer clear from David, will ask another associate who will actually be helpful. read more

Customer service has been poor in this store for a while and I am sure it is related to the inability to hire staff. That doesn't excuse poor service but I will give a partial pass . The bigger issue relates to the third party company that administers their rebate program. I purchased a $3,0000 lawnmower in April. It was 3 weeks before they could deliver it but eventually it was delivered by a couple of nice enough men but they knew nothing about the mower or what should have been with it etc. I filed for my rebate within a couple of days of the delivery and have had no contact from them. I phoned the number on the website and was told my rebate was rejected for no qualifying purchase. I quickly proved otherwise but was told I could not contact anyone- they would contact me but only by e-mail in 3-5 days. It would be the "tier 2team." Heard from them today. Congratulations, I qualify but have to supply more information first. They apologized that the rebate was delayed due to Covid- a complete lie based on the phone call. I can expect my rebate in another 4-6 weeks meaning about 12 overall. I called the store and the manager on duty listened and gave a half hearted apology and obviously was not interested. Lots of options on where I can buy home improvement and outdoor products in the future and it's pretty obvious these guys don't much care. Buy local! Montana Ace is looking good! read more

What a nightmare shopping experience! Severe lack of employees makes for self checkout only, rude staff wwith little to no knowledge of the product or store, no customer service, disorganized floors, etc. Today was exceptionally rude, with low quality and quantity employees. This store has died from covid and wokeism. This has killed customer service and consumerism, i left my merchandise on the self checkout stand with my wallet much happier. Found some mold so took out a wall to investigate. Thank goodness it wasn't much, but I took out the whole wall for good measure. Putting tile up in a bathroom is not easy (for me), so Id been struggling for about a week (yep...day 7). Making progress ...but slow. Today I happened upon a guy in flooring who explained the principles of concrete, how tiles stick (or why they might not), and some of the safety factors of the job I was doing. He built up my confidence through education, and through telling me Lowes had their own tutorial videos on youtube. Until then I'd been reading and watching whatever I could find (which may not always the best advice). I have been so banged up and exhausted from this job until today, that it almost made me cry to have someone give me a but of their time. I had to leave before completing my checkout due to an emergency phone call that came through, but will be going back to get all that he suggested. Taking a much needed break and watching how to do things properly for now with Lowes videos. Thank you, whoever that guy was for taking the time for this one customer. All I know is he works for the City in concrete, and at Lowes as well...but that help was a God send to me - so I just wanted to say I'm grateful. I have also met other personable staff at Lowes, and know they have been busy ...but to all of you who stop to ask, and they stay to help ...know it makes the day better for people like me, makes doing home improvement less challenging, and is a blessing. ***DO NOT BY CABINETS HERE**** DO NOT DESIGN/BUILD YOUR KITCHEN WITH THIS LOWES! WARNING!!! We are currently stuck in the middle of our kitchen remodel because this store "lost" one of our cabinets.... twice AND STILL HASN'T ARRIVED. Said cabinet was supposed to arrive at my door TWO whole MONTHS AGO. I ordered all the cabinets THREE whole MONTHS ago. We are doing a live-in flip too, so we have literally been living off of frozen meals and take out for three months going on to infinity, because of this Lowe's. The cabinet department and the store managers here are the absolute worst, they are incredibly disorganized and haven't given us any answers to when we will finally get our final cabinet. Nothing ever gets restocked. Their lumber is garbage. 2x4s for $7.40ea that range from 3.25" to 3.625" wide. The website is a disaster. The search engine is completely maddening. Worst of all they are ignoring the county mask mandate. Employees pulling their mask down to talk. Or just not wearing one at all. Don't even get me started on all the customers running around maskless. I absolutely can't stand going to this store yet work forces me there way more often than I would like. read more

Full of incompetent slacker employees. They will bait and switch you and try to sneek extra charges in, offering "free delivery" then charging $80 at the end. They tried to sell me an old beat up floor model stove for the exact same price because they didn't have any in stock. I told them I want a new one and its been close to a month now with them calling to keep delaying delivery because they still don't have any in stock. Pretty sad to have such piss poor service in every direction from a national chain. I was on the phone for over an hour to resolve charges they snuck in while trying to figure out why I have to do their employees work for them. I bought a zero turn lawn mower, paid for it and went home to get a trailer to take it home. Came back to discover they sold it to another person, even though I had paid for it. Manager said he would call me the next day to see if they could locate another. No one returned the call, talked to another manager who said they would call me back within two days, no call. Big corporation who does not care about customer service. I would pay more to shop at local stores who care about customer service. I wish I could give them less than one star. read more

Worst experience ever buying carpet. After looking at carpet because they had "free installation including stairs with basic furniture moving". My estimate involved an extra $643 of labor. I tried contacting the flooring department 6 times and was always disconnected. Finally went there in person. I was told first that the labor charge was for moving furniture. When I said the carpet included furniture moving I was told that promotion was over and that they tore up the sign, so I would have to pay the labor charge. It just so happened that I took a picture of the sign saying free installation so the the manager saw the picture, he said indeed furniture moving was included but I would still have to pay the labor charge because I have stairs. I stated that the sign said stairs were included and he replied that he only looked at the picture to see about furniture moving and not the stairs so again I would have to pay the labor charge. At which point I cancelled my order. I am out $45 for the measurement but cannot deal with them any more. My advice is to stay away from the flooring department. read more

One Sunday morning 5.19.19 went into Lowe's - no associates to help, the check out person in the Pro section was more interested in her phone. Zero customer service. Today, went into get 1x4's and the lumber is sub par, at best. Communicated to an associate that she may wish to have a manager review the quality of the lumber - Response, "I am not telling him, then it is more work for me" I am going to change my habits and visit the competition. read more

This has got to be the most worthless store in Missoula! I spent an untold amount of time several months ago waiting to be waited on the find a linoleum pattern. I finally called on Monday to order my chosen pattern for pickup today. It took me four calls and numerous dial tones to reach anyone. When I finally received a call back, "Ron" assured me that the linoleum would be cut, packaged, and ready for pick up today. I told him it needed to be ready, as my husband was not thrilled having to stop, having dealt with Lowes previously. My husband just arrived home and was furious. First he had to wait for 25 minutes at customer service just to get someone to wait on him. Then he had to wait for another 35 for them to go back, locate the linoleum, and bring it forward. I swear I will NEVER step foot in that store again! read more

We will continue to stick with Home Depot after today. We waited almost an hour for a pickup order that was supposed to take 15 minutes. Nobody would respond to us or even acknowledge us when we asked for help. Yet they were very quick to respond to and help everyone else who walked in the door. We stood at the pickup counter for 20 minutes with zero acknowledgement, and at LEAST 7 employees walked by during that time. I don't expect a lot when I go to home improvement stores, but I had to report on today's issue. I ordered tile for a customer of mine 2-3 weeks ago. They claimed they would call when it came in, which I knew they wouldn't. I kept calling to check on the order and yesterday it was there. The flooring associate said she would leave it by the flooring desk. Today I go to this desk with my receipt. The woman at the desk was so confused, she didn't even attempt to look at the receipt or look it up on the computer. She simply sent me to customer service where I proceeded to stand for what seemed a life time as associates walked by, looked at me, but never acknowledged my existence. It wasn't until I forcefully interrupted one of them I was spoken to. They informed me they would find some one to help me...and the wait continued. Finally this young man helped me. He said he had no clue where the Oder was and had to go find it. Lowe's is so disorganized it isn't even funny. They are in dire need of some good managers. My advice...try a different store or Amazon. read more

I have had great experiences at this Lowes location. From employees assisting with questions to delivery of items, this Lowes is great. We did a remodel on our house, off a long dirt road far far from town, and the Lowes delivery truck came right to the front door with all of our items. Their delivery service was relatively fast too. The selection in the store cannot be beat and they routinely have great sales on products. Always a return shopper. read more

easily the worst service I've ever had from any store. When I go into the store I get ignored for 15 to 20 minutes every time. When I talk with the people who work in the appliance department they don't seem to know much about what's going on and they don't know how to operate their phone system. I ordered a washer and dryer and it was supposed to be delivered on a particular date and I never got a call the day before the way they had promised, so I called the manager and talked with him and they said it would be deliver the next day and that it would come between 3 and 7 PM. The next day came in there was no delivery and no phone call and no email. I called on the third day... 10 times over 15 minutes before I got any answer at all -- on their main line and on the delivery line!!! When someone finally answered, I asked why nothing was happening. They had no idea and the delivery people weren't there. This is easily the worst shopping experience I've ever had. I would avoid the store like the plague. Go to Home Depot or Ace or anywhere else. 7-28-17 it is now day four of nondelivery. Each day I have spoken with the delivery person or an assistant manager who promised it would a delivery time that day or the next day and in each case I hear nothing back no phone calls and no visits. That means I'm still without my washer and dryer. I just spoke with another manager and will see how it goes. I would advise anyone buying large appliances at Lowe's to think twice and to bring their own pick up and take it away. Outrageous. read more

The delivery department is staffed by wholesale lairs. Not one word of my conversation as to why I can't accept a delivery when ever they feel like showing up was heeded. So when they do show up three hours after I said I wouldn't be home, The blame of inconveniencing them rests on me. I would rather offer someone in the parking lot with a truck $50 to help me get an oven home. Nine days after purchase I still have no oven and I live less than ten minutes from the store. If you know what you want and don't need the help of a Lowe's employee, then this is a great store. If, however you need to ask a question about a product or service, or heaven forbid, special order something, you are far better off shopping virtually ANYWHERE ELSE! Ordered special order fencing 3 weeks ago. Took me 4 employees and two misdirections to find someone who could place the order. The cashier couldn't figure out how to change my contact number during check out. Consequently they didn't call me when the order came in. When I called they said yep, it's here. Come get it. 2 hours later when I showed to pick it up, the order was mysteriously lost. One hour and 3 employees later (including the store manager), I left. Only to be called on the way home, to be told to come back because they found the order!!!! read more

I had a terrible experience when it came to Lowes and my new flooring. It was smooth sailing until I handed over my check and from there the ball was in my court to call, arrange arrival times of the workers, and other details. The first day my floor guy was 6 hours late and didn't realize he was doing my stairs. He said he could not complete the project because he did not have a ladder. I made several phone calls that day and no one responded to them, so I physically went to the store. No one took blame for anything and told me that they would be back the following week and that I had to call and confirm the appointment, even though they were on the phone with the flooring company. The following week the flooring men showed up and worked for 1.5 hours the first day before leaving for another project. This process continued and 2 weeks later my floors were finally done (note this was supposed to be 2 days for my upstairs and 2 days for my stairs). Bridget from Premiere Flooring would not return my phone calls and it was always a challenge to know whom to call, for no one answered or called me back. If you enjoy taking just shy of two weeks off of work, having different people show up at your house at times they didn't tell you, then Lowes is the place for you. read more

Want the price listed in the Lowe's flyer? Forget about it. This is a bait and switch operation. The May 5, 2016 flyer listed 1.5 gallon hanging planters @ 2 for $10. A good price you think. When you get to the store on that date, however, you find the lowest price for a 1.5 gallon hanging planter is $19.95. The flyer price "is only for tan colored pots." Maybe a truck will bring some tan pots tomorrow, but you are SOL today. Don't even think about asking for a rain check. You can check back in tomorrow or the next day, but Lowes will only honor the advertised price if the mood so strikes. read more
