Lowe's is the worst. The wife and I are having a kitchen remodel. She picked out a tile she liked, but they didn't have enough at the location. However, stated they could get the tile they were short from a different location delivered. Well, their delivery was delayed a week and all the tiles were to be delivered today... DID NOT HAPPEN!! We only received half the order. Now we are a week behind, without a kitchen and trying to work with our contractors who are ready to move on to other projects. We will NEVER do business with Lowe's again and I recommend you don't either... unless you like unreliable suppliers who don't respond in a timely manner. These guys stink bad. This rating is based solely on my experience at the returns counter. There are two registers when you walk into Lowe' s - a pick up and a return. There was an employee at the pickup register but none at the return. Because it was very obvious which lane was which, I waited patiently at the return register thinking the cashier must have just stepped away. After a few minutes, the cashier at pickup told me someone would be right up. A couple more minutes and another employee did arrive. I thought she was the cashier. This employee came to the register where I was waiting and I heard her say "how are you?" I thought she was talking to me and I answered "fine" and asked how she was doing. She looked me straight in the face and, with a good amount of attitude, said "I'm not talking to you". I think my mouth may have fallen open a little. Then she asked why was I standing at the register. I said it was the return line. She pointed to a queue now 6 people deep and told me there was only one register open. Mind you, there was absolutely no indication that the register was closed. Should I have deduced that the register was closed because there was no one manning it? Possibly I couldn't read her name on her badge as it was partially covered by her apron but she did have a big stack of "excellent" patches hanging off a pin on the apron. Yes, it's only 3 days after Christmas and I could see her being tired and burned out but such a nasty attitude isn't excusable, especially when your job is customer service. Will I be back? Of course, it's Lowe's. Should I have known the register was closed? I'm not sure how, but I'll give it a maybe. Should I cut her a break because everyone has a bad day? Also a maybe - she's obviously a good employee based on the number of patches hanging on her apron. But does she have the right to be flat out rude? Never, nobody does. read more

My husband and I plan to paint the interior of our home and stopped by today (4/26/25 5:50pm) with an idea of what we were looking for. We found a color we liked in one of the available pamphlets. My husband was able to flag down one of the two young men sitting behind the desk, playing on their phones. We needed help locating the color. I said, "what aren't these in numerical order?" He responded, "how would you like to put them in order?" He said so without a smile, shockingly rude. He then shuffled unenthusiastically back to his seat and back on his phone. I have never experienced such disrespect from someone working in customer service. Very poor. We left without making any purchase. Waste of time. read more

My husband and I went to Lowes- store #663 located at 7920 hwy 72 w in Madison, AL on January 29, 2026 at around 6pm to purchase some toilets for our church. The toilets at our church had a very shallow bowl and weren't flushing properly, we were looking for something with a deeper bowl. At the store we couldn't tell which ones had deeper bowls. There was a lowes employee in the aisle with the toilets, so we asked him for help(told him we needed to figure out the depth of the bowls. He said I'm in fulfillment I don't know, look inside the toilets and see.(didn't offer to call anyone or anything). The toilets that were on display were up very high and we couldn't see in them, he was on a lift and saw us struggling to try to see in them, but offered no assistance. We saw another employee and asked for assistance, that employee said the person who works in that department won't be here for another hour and walked away. We really needed help as we had someone coming to install the toilets the next day. We saw a ladder and were going to use it to look in the toilets, the original fulfillment guy saw us and said that's for employees only, still didn't offer any assistance and walked away. By then we had been in the store for over a half hour, the employee in appliances could see us struggling and just watched. We went to the front to see if customer service could provide assistance or find someone. They said the same thing oh the guy in that department won't be here for an hour. We told them our dilemma and timeframe for needing this toilet.(in normal circumstances I would have left the store immediately, as they couldn't provide any customer service- but we do a lot of business with this lowes in our businesses normally through the pro desk). So I said can you call a manager, they said ok, - we went back to the toilet section and 15 minutes later still no one showed up. We noticed a couple of the employees from appliances were still just standing there observing us. So after 45 minutes with no help and unable to look in the display toilets because they were so high, we looked in the box. Immediately Eddie from appliances came over, and started demanding why are you opening up boxes! We were shocked at the aggressiveness and behavior towards customers and the fact that they had been watching us try to get help for over 45 minutes and then came over like we were criminals, it was unbelievable. Eddie said you have no business opening up boxes. We said we've been here for over 45 minutes trying to get help, Lowes employees open up boxes and others all the time for customers to see the product. He started arguing loudly with us, we were in state of shock, so I said we need to see a manager, as we were walking away Eddies kept shouting at us and said I'll tell the manager myself, I said stop yelling at us we are customers, but he kept yelling even as we were walking away. My husband said leave us alone, he kept yelling. We get to the front an immediately asked to speak to a manager we couldn't believe what just happened. This time a manager came almost immediately Misty-an assistant manager. We she came- we immediately recognized her as one of the one's in appliances who saw us trying to get help and did nothing!!! She had seen the whole exchange and did nothing, we told her what happened, she offered a very stilted sorry and said she would talk to him. We had no faith in that because she saw it happen. I asked for customer service number so I could report it. I don't know if it was because we are African Americans they were white, but I've never experienced anything like this. We've been coming to this Lowes for years, doing big business this is the worst behavior I've ever seen. If it wasn't for the relationship I have with the pro desk and the great service they have provided over the years, I would never come to this store again and even now despite my years of coming to this store am considering not coming again. read more

I did an online order on a Friday evening planning on picking it up Saturday morning. Customer service was great, she gave me the jar of wood screws I had ordered and gave me the ticket to take to the lumberyard (Lowes Pro). I gave the girl my ticket and it turns out they never pulled my order, even though I got an email that my order was ready for pickup. So 20 minutes later they finally started pulling my order and I stepped in to help because I wanted to get out of there. They did help me load the truck and it all worked out. I just wished it was ready for pickup like the email said. read more

The paint department is not friendly nor helpful. I had to make 4 trips to get a quart if paint. The first visit they didn't have any eggshell base. The second visit they didn't mix it correctly. The third visit I couldn't get anyone to help although there were 5 employees behind the counter. The fourth visit I got the paint but also got the most rude response imaginable. If there were negative stars to rate I would gladly for the service and quality of the so custom windows installed on my house. Bought the windows and had installed in October of 2023. Three were damaged upon arrival because they thought they could carry all at the same time. Pedro and his colleague broke every window and I'm still picking up pieces from my lawn and pool. House was just painted professionally inside and out and now my window frames are cracked or broke. The caulking was so subpar and incompetently applied , it looks old and is already cracking with discoloration. I've had the installers out to my house numerous times and I'm still looking at the same problems. I'm waiting for someone to answer the phone and send fix this Charlie Foxtrot and replace three windows paint what the installers FUBR before I start pushing up wildflowers read more

I went in to look for two toilets, and first could not find anybody for assistance. Then, when I went to the register, the price rang up incorrectly. The clerk asked if I would personally go back to take a picture of the item on the shelf, and then come back so I did and then The claims that this was a different item number, even though there was no other similar item or similar name listed on the shelf. Poor customer service all the way around. You just lost my business and I do a lot of these kinds of purchases. read more

We had good experiences with Lowe's in Tuscaloosa, but in Ft Payne, not so much. We PAID IN FULL for a deck in DECEMBER (seven months ago) and it is STILL not finished. The excuse of "covid" only goes so far... Our main issue is communication. We have to continually inquire about the status and prod the process along. We have been reasonably happy with the contractor that Lowe's used and understand that they cannot do their work without the materials. Lowe's, however, has not been proactive at all in following up and making sure that the materials are here. I looked at the vendor's website and could have had the missing parts in two days, if I was willing to pay for express delivery. Apparently Lowe's will not pay for express delivery, either, even though they have an unhappy customer and this has drug out for more than half a year! read more

Great Lowe's! I'd choose this place over Home Depot any day. For starters, these guys were open the morning after the tornado outbreak and even took the care to move everything they thought you would immediately need to the front of the store, right inside the entrance, for easy access. Thanks for that, guys. You helped make a very stressful time a little bit easier. Second, the employees have helped save me some money a couple times. Most recently I was looking for filters for my A/C system. The woman who helped me find them also told me that those expensive filters cause a lot of unnecessary stress on my A/C system, and they were only intended for people with serious allergies. So I bought the cheap ones on her recommendation and haven't looked back. Thanks! The paint department is great, too. Every room in my house is painted with Valspar paint. My living room was the first thing I painted back in 2007 when I bought my house, and 4 years (and two tennant families) later, it looks just like the day I painted it. I've had to do some touch-up work but the touch up paint blends right in with the color, meaning this stuff doesn't fade. Great paint! In general, everyone here is just friendly and helpful. I've never received great service at the Home Depot two doors down from here. Keep up the awesome! read more

This Lowe's is pretty good. I would certainly recommend it for power tools over Home Depot. It seems that if Home Depot doesn't have something Lowe's will have it. Lowe's has also made the switch to putting Spanish and English on all of their products (some people hate it, some people love it). read more

Whatever you do, never purchase an appliance from Lowe's. We spent over $1000 on a a Whirlpool washing machine that broke the first day it was delivered. Then we replaced it with a Maytag model that broke within two weeks. When I contacted them, they chastised me for not paying an extra $60-80 dollars for their extended warranty. The unsympathetic manager explained that unless something goes wrong within the first 48hrs., you're screwed. He basically called me cheap for not forking over the additional money because I was under the false impression that their appliances would operate properly for more than 48 hours. I will never purchase an appliance from them again. read more

This Lowe's is near where we live and was the supplier of our lumber for our backyard fence. The man who sold the lumber did a great job of making sure I was getting fair prices, including convincing his manager to honor the incorrectly printed shipping cost to get me about twenty dollars off delivery! That kind of work for the customer is what gets and keeps my attention. I have lots of yard work that will begin next spring, and I'm sure this Lowe's is where I will begin my shopping! read more

Great store for home improvement, the staff is always helpful and takes you to isle that you need to go to instead of a point and run. Every person that I have talked to has always gave me helpful advice and tips to get the jobs done faster and cheaper, you can always learn something from someone at this store. The prices are competitive and they price match. If you have to return something Thames have a hassle free return policy if you buy to much, thats another plus for me as I tend to over do it sometimes. read more

Lowe's has a pretty nice store here, even though I'm more of a Home Depot person since I know where everything is at over there. The sales tax at this Lowes is also higher since it is inside Madison city limits. You will end up paying more because of the sales tax and even more when Madison has their next increase. read more

I purchased a dishwasher and double wall oven at Lowe's. The first day there wasn't any problem. The installer measured for the oven on Friday and I returned to the store to complete the purchase of the oven. At first the sales associate had problems with finding the order. The associate found the order but, had to call the supervisor. By the time the supervisor came to the register I have been waiting for about an hour. When the supervisor asked me if there was anything wrong I told them I have been waiting for an hour by that time. The associate heard this and stormed off. The supervisor completed the transaction and directed me to go to the front register. When I went to pay for the double wall oven the price came up too high. The person at the register told me I had to go to the customer service desk to get it straightened out. When the customer service rep. checked into the transaction I was told a person from the appliance desk will need to get it corrected and they will contact me in an hour. This was around 11:00 am. Around 5:00 pm I received a telephone call from the sales associate she will start correcting the error by the end of the day. At 7:00 pm I received a call from the associate the problem was fixed and that I will need to come in the next day for the paperwork. When I purchased the dishwasher the first day I was told it should arrive at the store in a couple of days. When I went into the store and spoke with the associate I was told the dishwasher was at the store and that I would receive a call from the installer to set up a date for the install. A few days later I received a call from the sales associate my dishwasher was not at the store and that it will need to be reordered as a special order. I asked, "So, when will it be at the store?" I was told in two weeks. It appears Lowe's cannot give the correct delivery date on items they sell. When I sent a complaint to Lowe's corporate customer service they sent the complaint to the store. I then received a call from the sales associate telling me the delivery dates the dishwasher and double wall oven will be at the store. These were the same dates I was quoted. Lowe's did nothing to resolve the complaint. When the associate contacted me about the delivery dates they closed the complaint. They did not ask me if I was satisfied with the answer. It appears Lowe's does not care what the customer thinks. Take it or leave it. Now I know why Home Depot is doing so much better than Lowe's. read more

We bought a $300+ pressure washer at this Lowes a couple weeks ago.. Went to use it and the hose line wouldn't screw in all the way. We called spoke with the manager and came into the store 10 minutes later. Manager Scott had already notified the floor worker. He found a similar hose and took the old one, no charge and out the door in 20 min. Amazing customer service! read more

We had a good experience choosing and buying a new front door unit at Lowes in Madison. Bill in the Millworks department is great to work with. I was also impressed with their installers. I have used this lowes for 6 years, until now. store #0663 is managed horribly, someone in the store sold my product(it was the last one) AFTER I had paid for it and was waiting to pick it up with my other car!!!! I watched the employee WRITE my Name, phone number AND the word SOLD on it and take the item to the back, SO IT WOULDN"T BE SOLD AGAIN!!!! Went to pick it up, AND IT WAS GONE!!!! The store managemnet is completely incompetent, they have no control over their employees. HOW DO YOU GO INTO A NEGATIVE balance on store items, UNLESS a manager, or assistant manager OVERIDES IT!!! I recently placed and picked up an online order from the Lowe's (store # 0663) Madison Alabama. After looking at the large volume of insulation purchased, I was at a loss as to how to get it home in a timely manner. My contractor was scheduled to come very early the next day, so delivery was not an option. On top of that, it was late and the store was closing soon. I resigned myself to the many, many trips back and forth that would be needed in my car. Seeing my dilemma, the associates on the "lumber side" of the store came to my rescue! First, Isatou was wonderfully kind and so smart to help me figure out a way to get the large amount of insulation bundles home without making those many multiple trips. We found Joshua and he filled my car to the brim and was waiting for my return before the store closed. I made it and upon arriving, Myles and Hugh stepped in to help out and filled it again and even took the time to tie down bundles to my roof rack. I think they went above and beyond, considering it was the end of the night for them. Project complete thanks to them. I would like to add that I really appreciate that Lowe's is open during this COVID-19 crisis and that these associates were ready and willing to help in my time of need. Thank you! read more

Started out nice BUT....Ordered french doors for our sunroom and was disappointed that I couldn't have the full glass because we needed a dog door installed. The gentleman in the store was nice and showed us the dog doors available and helped us pick out the right size. (This required my daughter sending me pictures and me talking to the gentleman via phone because I am handicapped) When the french doors showed up, there was no dog door to be installed and the man who originally helped us was no longer there. Now I have no dog door and I can't even see out into my backyard from my chair. They insist that we need to pay for the dog door and having it installed even though we went to all of the trouble of coordinating it. We were having them put in a 6 ft vinyl fence in the back yard, but we told them to forget it We want someone dependable. I can now see why there are so many reviews about good sales people and poor management teams at Lowes. They lost a $7500 fence budget over the principle of a $130 dog door.
