After much helpful service they refused to accept the return of a ten dollar plumbing item that we purchased, knowing that one of the two items would be redundant. Since I don't do a lot of home maintenance it was a few weeks before I needed to go Lowe's, not making a special trip just to do the ten dollar return. Turns out a few weeks was two weeks past whatever their deadline is. So I'm stuck with a ten dollar paper weight. Back to their competitor, literally closer to our home, until they inevitably screw up again. Terrible service. Went to purchase a weed eater. The one I wanted was locked in a cage so I needed an associate. I walked to the front of the store and customer service paged for help over the PA system. Nobody showed so after 10 minutes of waiting I went back to the customer service desk and she paged someone again. Still no help. It should not be this difficult to buy something. AND 3 people at the customer service desk with no line...maybe not a responsibility for them BUT service the customer! Sad to have to beg for someone to sell you a product. On February 19 I went to Lowe's with my father. My father has a Lowe's credit card and has made several large purchases with this company. Recently, my father's dishwasher broke. And being that he is 80 years old and a little hard of hearing, I went with him to help him pick out the dishwasher. He was happy with the purchase experience. And we both left believing that we found a great dishwasher. He put the dishwasher and the installation fees on his Lowe's credit card. It was explained to us that on February 22, my father would receive the dishwasher and it would be installed. He had 30 days from the purchase date to return the dishwasher for a full refund because he bought this unit on his Lowe's Home Improvement credit card. I called to follow up on the delivery a week later to see how my father was enjoying his new dishwasher. He let me know that they delivered it but did not install it. I asked why he let the delivery guy leave without installation and he told me it was another company that did the installation. However, while we were in the Lowe's store with the purchase, Nicole F called and verified that there was a installation date available for February 22. On February 29, I called Lowe's to find out why the dishwasher had not been installed yet. This is 10 days after purchase. Lowes could not find a date for installation scheduled. So they put me through to the installation company. The installation company scheduled him for March 8. I begged that they make it sooner. My father has a hand tremor and it is dangerous for him to hand wash glass every day. I returned to my fathers house on March 7 to find that the dishwasher is still in the box with the additional hoses that he purchased. It is sitting in his kitchen in a 700 ft.² trailer. He paid over $600 for this dishwasher plus installation. I was fully prepared for the dishwasher to be installed on the eighth. However, the installer was a no call no show. I returned to my fathers house on March 9. We went to Lowe's in Lufkin. The customer service agent gave my father a telephone with the installation company on the phone. The installation company promised that they would call my father back with a date for installation. The installation company did not call my father back. Two hours later we had to call them. I called through Lowes customer service. Lowes customer service tried to get off the phone to let me deal with the installation company directly. I asked Lowes customer service to stay on the line and they did. This service representative from the installation company wanted to give my dad a reschedule for March 22. My father was in his home the entire day of March 8 waiting for installation. After telling the installation company with Lowe's on the line that March 22 was more than a month from the purchase date and we paid for installation, they agreed to look for a date that was sooner. They scheduled us for March 10 and sent us a text message verifying the time and day of March 10 between 2 and 5 PM. Again, the installation service was a no call no show. We paid for the service. My father will likely pay interest for the service. And Lowe's gets to put all of that in their pocket. This is fraud. When you sell something to a customer that you cannot fulfill on, this is fraud. This installation company with whom Lowe's works is a fraudulent company. I would like to know that Lowe's would do the right thing and take care of my father and reimburse him for all installation costs and rectify the situation ASAP. Even if it takes sending their district manager to my dad's home. We should not have to call, beg, and waste our gas money on going back to the store to collect on something that he already purchased. I am now embarrassed to say that we did business with Lowe's. We both feel swindled. For my father to return the unit and start his search over again comes with physical pain and exhaustion. Praying this company does the right thing. read more

An ASM by the name of James walks by, I ask him for help and show him the clear picture of his shelf with the proper item number and price and he says "the price has changed, I'm not refunding you" I explained that it's not my fault they changed the price and not the signage, but it is only fair that I pay what is advertised and he laughs.... You know what's not fun when shopping for appliances? Guessing what's in stock. After going through 4 separate selections of washer and dryers the novelty of this Guessing game got really old. I watched four different couples leave in frustration because whatever stove, washer/dryer combo or fridge they wanted just wasn't in stocks or deliverable within any kind of reasonable time frame. We followed suite and spent our 2000$ budget at home depot instead. Start putting in stock or out of stock signs so you're not wasting customers time. read more

I purchased one too many items and instead of ne havto come back to return it at another time. The young man in the garden center just loaded one of my items in my car and wrote on my receipt that I only needed one. I went to customer service and a lady by the name of Elaina checked out an elderly man and he didn't hear her say that she was returning the refund back to his credit card, he walked away then came back to ask her where was his money? She rudely replied to him in with a very snappy response... that's what I said I was returning it to your card. He replied he was wanting the cash. "Elania rudely replied" ain't nothing I can do about it now. She then answered the phone, someone was asking about a lumber order and if she could take it over the phone. Her exact were let me try transferring you again after arguing with them in front of customers. (Load enough for me to hear.) as she transfered the call she said and I quote "I'm not F*c*lng taking it!" I attached a picture of her name tag. If she is in any type of management position, a supervisor needs to have a discussion with her about what is appropriate language and what is not appropriate language to use in front of customers. I will be calling the local store to speak with a manager. I sincerely hope something will be done about her language. Completely unprofessional!! Terrible customer service & even worse management. Be prepared for long hold time if you call the store. Then be prepared to walk all over the store just to find an associate who will be unable to assist you. It's unbelievable. I called the store yesterday to see if there sold 8 x 19 100 grit sandpaper. The operator put me on hold & NO ONE responded to twice. While still on hold, I drove to the store, went to that dept & no associate was around. When the operator came back on the line, I asked for the manager. When he answered, I did inform him that I had a very long hold time. He didn't apologize but he did ask me what he could help me with. I told him I was looking for 8 x 19 100 grit sandpaper. He said 'they went to see if we carried that type of sandpaper here, that's why the hold time was so long'. I responded with 'your response is interesting considering you're the only person I've been able to speak with in your store to express what I was actually looking for; therefore, I do not believe that anyone was "looking" to see if you carried this product'. There was silence. Then I did advise him that the hold time was so long that I'm actually inside the store & cannot find a single sales associate to help. He did advise me which aisle to find the sandpaper in & met me there just to say "yeah, we just don't sell that size here". No apologies for lying to me. 99% of the time the staff is super helpful. Not as many options as in a bigger city though. The sales are unpredictable. One week something is 1000 and the next it's 700 and then 1100. I've had no issues with returns. Most returns were manufacturing defects or me not screening good enough before I bought something read more

My washing machine died and my wife told me to purchase another one. So on Sunday the 27th I drove to the Lufkin, TX Lowes buy a new one. My wife wanted a simple one, no buttons but dials. So I found a GE model which was $499 on sale for $449. The guy who was on duty said that you had one in inventory. The one in inventory was a return and the tag stated that the reason it was returned was because the previous purchaser "did not like it." Its was also $50 less than the price of a new unit, so great. I purchased it and drove home to Groveton TX, 35 miles away, installed it and ran a load of water to clean it out. It was broken, made horrible noises so I drained it and reloaded it and drove back 35 miles to Lowes to return it. I located the original salesperson in the appliance department, which by the way did everything right and was very helpful ( I did not get his name), and explained the situation. I asked him if he could exchange the one I bought for the floor model or get a discount on another model. He said that he did not have that authority but he would call the manager on duty. I was put in contact with Randy, who was the only MOD on Sunday, I did not get his last name, and I retold my story to him. Automatically I could tell he was unsympathetic to my cause. He verbalized to me that he couldn't exchange the machine and that he could only give me 10% off of the retail price on the floor model. I tried to reiterate the fact that I only purchased the item because it supposed to be in working condition and that I drove 70 miles round trip to get it and return it and his response is that "I am lucky that I am even able to return it because that's what you get with scratch and dent items." I said "ok and have a good evening." I then had the purchase refunded on my Lowes card and went to Home Depot and bought another washing machine. Randy is the reason that Lowes lost a sale yesterday and will the reason I seek alternate sources of materials. As long as I am complaining about Lowes, why is there always a wait to check out?
