There was one little item that I needed to grab before hitting the road and I knew I would find it at Lowe's. I also knew that it was going to take me some time to find it at Lowe's. No two Lowe's are set up alike. I came in here and aimlessly wondered around looking for the item. Not finding it in the logical location I did what I always do in here. Give up and start to make my way to the front of the store. Almost always, I then end up finding the item I was looking for. I can't explain it, but I always end up finding it after I have given up in here. Good thing to, because finding an associate to help me was nearly impossible and when I did find one, they scattered once they say me walking towards them. We placed an order for a wood & wire fence. When the wood & concrete was delivered, he used a forklift to place the concrete inside the garage. The forklift frame hit our raised garage door and forced it backward. That force broke the guide wire on the door which caused the door to be off-set. The door will not go down completely, now. When it gets to the floor, the door won't complete the cycle and goes back to the top. We called Lowe's about the damage done to the garage before the job was completed. We were asked to send pictures, which we did. The delivery company agreed that the damage needed to be corrected. They said that they had arranged for a contractor to set up the repair. It's been a week with nothing done. Meanwhile, we still can't park our vehicle in the garage. We, again, call Lowe's and they were going to have to get back with us next week/weekend. However, we stopped them and said that this wouldn't work ... they needed to get us a manager now. FIVE people later, we were finally connected to the company that delivered the products and damage to our home. The shipping representative said that she set up the repair with a contractor last week! The shipping representative said, "Since I didn't hear from you, I thought it was taken care of." We assured her that it had not been taken care of. She told us that she would get it settled TODAY, and we would hear back from her today. A person named Laura called us and said she would definitely get something done on it by tomorrow. I will continue this through another post when and if the work is completed. Regardless of who delivered the fencing materials, it was still Lowe's that was responsible for our fencing once we purchased the products. Lowe's should probably follow up on product delivery in order to not get negative reviews. read more

I will update my review if things change and keep this short. We have done tens of thousands of dollars worth of projects through this Lowe's and not once were we sent an itemized list even after asking several times for one. Much of the project we had to coordinate ourselves. They also fired our first group that worked on our project and WE had to find that out ourselves by directly calling that contractor. Whether it's due to what the employees are told by corporate, or a personality issue, this Lowe's is terribly managed and if they are not willing to make things right, then we will go through every avenue available to rectify this issue ourselves. I would highly recommend that nobody use this Lowe's (or any for that matter) for any major projects at this point. They have been very unprofessional overall so far and extremely frustrating to work with. read more

Went there and asked about a product I didnt know name of, but had a picture of. The young lady didnt know either. She asked the bag man sitting behind his computer if he could help with identifying it, He said "I need to know the name of the part". We both said " dont knoe the name, but have a picture". He replied he couldnt help us since we didnt know the name. What a f.... a hole!!! read more

Installed a new fence and cemented the drop rod right into the ground so double gate will not open. Was scheduled for this past Wednesday for repairs. No show, no call. Spoke to a manager, no help. Third day of no repair! Do not get an install from Lowe's unless you don't care if they ever show up! read more

I needed a few random items I needed eye hooks, snaps, hammer, cooler and some nylon rope All were there and I was pleasantly surprised that an employee helped me find all of them. When you're in a strange store it can take forever to find small things so that was very nice!! I also grabbed fly spay, auto cleaner and bungee cords This was very close to the horse park grounds so it was fast I did the self check out and that was easy too Very nice experience read more

Was there on 11/16/2002 at 3:30 PM. Picked up 10 bags of 40 lbs of lime. Could not find anyone to help me. As I got to the register, a guy came in from outside. He removed his mask as he approached me. The cashier was wonderful and helped me out with a problem. As I went out to the car, the maskless employee remained behind and watched a 67 year old senior load 10 bags and lime and 3 bags of fertilizer in my car. 7 years ago, this store was great. But they have changed management and customer service has gone downhill. Next time I am going to the Co-op for my supplies. read more

Prices are higher than other stores. It's hard to get help. One or two employees will be running from department to department while others stand around and talk or can't be found period. No wonder they can't get and keep good help. Then when you're shopping and don't need or aren't asking for help, that's when they follow pester you for credit apps, etc , meddling where they don't belong. etc. Just an overall annoying place period. read more

Early May 2019 I visited Lowe's in Lexington VA to buy a new fridge. I already searched the web for a few days and realized the task was almost impossible because of the very limited space in my kitchen. With the help of Joe Mann and Kellie Funk I found the PERFECT fridge, a Fisher & Paykel which has the filtered water access in the door and the ice maker in the bottom drawer. I love it! Lexington, VA Store Initiated an installation agreement on August 8, 2020 for approximately $5700 for removal and installation of a backyard fence, estimated to begin September 30, 2020 and completion date of October 30, 2020. Was told we had to pay advance, which we did on August 8. A few days before October 30, was told there were delays and was now scheduled for November 30. Lowes now had our money for almost 3 months, with now anticipated for 4 months, with no assurances that it would start on November 30. Therefore, we decided to cancel the Sales Contract. Various employees at the local store, home office, ect. were contacted. No one would agree that we could to cancel the sales agreement. Some employees said they would call us back in 24 hours, they would not. They were call 3 times by us, left messages, no one would call back. Others, put on hold for 30 minutes, dropped call. One person said problem resolutions would only begin after the installation of the fence. Problem resolution department, they only took information. After 2-3 weeks, finally the local store person indicated that they we would receive a refund, but it had to be cash, it took too long to get a check from Corporate. Promised she would call back when she had enough cash. We agreed. Was called in 3 days and was told, if approved, we would receive a check from the Corporate office which would take 14 days. So therefore, after all this time, we still cant get a firm answer of when or if we are getting a refund. I had reservations about paying in advance for a service that had not been completed. I will never do it again. We have loss of confidence in Lowes to perform the service timely after the first delay. read more

Just bought a new stove after our old one just blew a control board. Nate helped us and the experience was fantastic he was very helpful and knowledgeable. Kelvin and Kieth delivered our new stove and they we extremely careful and professional. I highly recomend Lowes and their entire staff. read more

One star is stretching it... I ordered a load of lumber to be delivered in Buena Vista. I was told it would be delivered on a Thursday. The following Wednesday, I had someone check on it and only a small portion had been delivered. After calling the store and speaking with a manager, I was told it would be delivered the next day - Thursday. At 6:00 Thursday night, I received a call from Lowe's delivery company that the load would be delivered the following day, between 12:00 and 2:00. After calling Lowe's again, I was told that there wasn't anything they could do about it since they had an outside company doing their deliveries. As it turns out, I will need to get a trailer and go by and pick it up if I want it on time. From speaking with others, this is a common problem with this Lowe's. I'm sorry for those in the Lexington/Buena Vista area that must depend on this Lowe's. read more

I bought really good paint from Lowes,so it would be covered in one coat. The paint was not shaken enough, so not only was it many colors of blue, but sort of looked tie-dyed. I went to the store and spoke to customer service, who were great. They gave me my money for the paint. Since to no fault of my own, I ask about them paying to have it painted again. I was told they could not. So, I called the home office because I knew they had more flexibility than the store. Over a week later, the same customer service man called me. I was told they could not pay to have it painted again. It was their fault it needs to be repainted, why should I have to be responsible? read more

They deliver a product by mistake. It takes a long time to install. I couldn't use the kitchen for three days.

One of my favorite stores in Lexington. The store has pretty much anything you could ever need to make home repairs, heck you could probably even build a home with the selection they have. The staff is really friendly and helpful and I can pretty much find help within seconds of being it an sometimes I don't even need to ask because they actually check up on their customers and help them find what they are looking for and can even answer technical questions. A great store and highly recommended. Edit: so there ended up being an issue that caused a loss of a star. I special ordered two pieces and was told that even though the order said that it would take a couple weeks for delivery that it should actually only take a couple days. Which I was honestly fine with either. However after going back to the store a week and a half later to check if the items had arrived I find out they haven't even finished processing the order. It's just two simple items!? I almost considered taking two stars for this but the customer service employee was super cool about the situation, and helped me cancel the order without any question. ( I had found the same exact item online and ordered it there and will be getting it super quick) In today's age there is no reason that a delivery should take a month to fulfill nor weeks to process. While the special ordering is cool, check online(amazon) and make sure you can't get it there faster. Otherwise it can be super helpful. read more

My mother needed a new dishwasher so we went to Lowe's on a Sunday. After looking at the different models and thinking we knew what we wanted, we met the weekend guy for the department and had a lengthy conversation with him. After that, we really knew what we wanted - he was so informative! - but wanted to think about it before making our decision. The next day, a Monday, we went back to buy and it seemed like everyone else had decided to buy an appliance at the same time. Just when we were about to leave because the wait was long, Brad, the GM, came by and helped us. He is amazing! Knows his product, knows his service, and made the process quick and easy. Even better, the delivery was two weeks' earlier than projected, and the delivery people installed the new and took away the old. Great job! Mom loves her new dishwasher. read more

We purchased a $500 lawn mower that was too difficult to start. Lowe's took it back with no receipt (they looked up our credit card) and no hassle whatsoever. Impressive. read more
