Lowe's has become our "go to" place for any type of home repair or renovation needs. When they first opened we weren't too sure about trying them since Home Depot was our first choice. The quality of the materials here is head and shoulders above the selection at Home Depot. When we needed help at Home Depot we got blank stares or "it's not my Department" for answers. This was not in the distant past it was at 12:15 TODAY. The employees at Lowe's are friendly and knowledgeable. Help here is real help and not a sales pitch. Today's trip was for stainless steel screws and washers. After a wasted trip to Home Depot (small items and they are really close) I went here and quickly got exactly what I needed. This is the closest home improvement store to my house and I'm happy it is because the employees are great for the most part and they have decent prices on everything. Id also rather support Lowes than Home Depot so it works out. There are 2 employees that work in the garden section that are ill equipped to run the forklift so when you're trying to get mulch and they're blocking off the isles to bring something down with the forklift, prepare to wait. read more

Purchased a thousand dollar Whirlpool washer from them. The washer's control board went about a month after and Lowes refused a return for a faulty product. They said you only had 24hrs to return it. Tried manufacture warranty, had to purchase a service plan and they came out to fix it and couldn't because the control panel is on back order for 2 months. I will never buy any large purchase from them again, especially appliances. Beware. read more

I stopped in to get a small step stool. The associate who I asked for help was great, as was the associate who I ran into when I had other questions. I noticed they have three different sizes of WD-40. They have a mini one. It was 3 ounces for $3.98. They have a 12 ounce one for $6.58 and a 14.4 ounce bottle for $10.28. I bought the biggest size just in case I needed it. The one I have from another store is only 10 ounces. I'll definitely be back here, if I need anything else. read more

There was one associate in particular that rubbed me the wrong way while I visited this establishment. There was an associate named Chrissy that got quite aggressive by just a simple question. This individual suspected that I was trying to be "smart" when I was just asking a question regarding our previous conversation. It felt like this person (who mind you, is a very large, bulky and built individual, not the average build of a woman) was pressing me. This person made me incredibly uncomfortable. So uncomfortable in fact, that I proceeded to leave the establishment. I can't believe Lowe's would hire such rude and emotionally unstable people when their job entails customer service. I asked a simple and straight forward question and this person totally 180 changed to an aggressive person. Very strange behavior for an adult. I hope Lowe's sits this individual down and teaches them proper customer skills at the very least. read more

This Lowe's has the friendliest employees! I went to grab supplies for a few jobs yesterday, and it was a warm sunny Saturday so of course it was a mad house. I went in and grabbed paint, and the nicest man in the world made my colors. I wandered around the garden section where a few employees were watering plants, and they all said hello. I go and grab my paint, and thank the nicest man on the planet and continue to check out. The woman at checkout was extremely helpful. While I was scanning my items I hear another cashier recommending adding coffee grounds to the soil for a blueberry plant a customer was purchasing. Awesome. I head out to my car, and another employee in the parking lot wished me a great day. Thank you Lowe's, I will have a great day. read more

Bought a new refrigerator for our son & daughter-in-law for Christmas. Paid for delivery, removal of the old refrigerator, and a 3 yr. extended warranty. The refrigerator was delivered on Dec. 12, 2023, and stopped working on Dec. 30, 2023. My son has been getting the runaround from Lowes and from Frigidaire, and he and his family are still without a refrigerator. Lowes aggravation twice in one month. First going for outdoor bird supplies. Ok there is the isle sign to direct me. Nope, no bird stuff there. Asking two clerks on the floor I got sent running all over to two wrong locations in the store. Staff at service desk was uncertain until one young man came on. He finally walked me to where they were moved. 20 min of wasted running around. Recently seeing abundant inventory for the utility mat I wanted on-line at my location and others nearby I jumped in the car to pick one up. Sorry the 16 indicated in isle 44 bay 19 had no such mat, nor even a shelf marker for it. A young woman staff member did a yeoman's job trying to find them. Nothing. I came home ordered in online. Going to pick it up I was told it was the very last one in all nearby branches. Odd. All the branch Lowes still show abundant stock of this item. Until Lowes stops moving stock without training staff, until Lowes has accurate on-line inventory information, I am not going back for a very very long time. read more

This is among the lousiest Lowe's locations based on a number of my stops the past five months. Employees scattered in the store who can help with miscellaneous questions (such as where an item might be located) are next to impossible to track down. Additionally, if you "ring" them to come to an aisle, it's taken upwards to 10 minutes in my stops for someone to actually come by. Three glaring issues I've had recently: -The paint team mixed an incorrect color for a can I bought. Their machine only prints a sticker with the correct color, so the lady who was working in the department mixed the wrong color, knowingly realized it, then fudged it so the machine would print the sticker. Absolutely unreal to wrap your head around, in my opinion. -I bought a grill for pick up later. When I went back to pick it up with a truck a few weeks later, no one had moved the particular grill to the holding area in the back of the store as they were supposed to. Nonetheless, they still had some in stock but they were displayed outdoors and rained on all summer. I questioned if that could pose a problem and they said no. The grill subsequently does not work correctly and the regulator is perhaps damaged. I have to find someone with a truck so I can return it to the store or communicate with Charbroil. Goodtimes. -I bought some Closetmaid shelves and one wound up being too large and needed cut further. I brought it back in and the service desk person said it was fine, just take it back to the aisle. I ringed for help and once there had to wait 20 minutes for someone and then two guys came who were both very rude and said they couldn't make a cut that short. I said they could and asked them to please try. They did and it cut fine. read more

This Lowe's location is terrible! Called several times to set up an appointment to have a house measured for a rug installation. No one answers the phone or your left on hold. Finally made the appointment and they showed upped on time. Then I had to go into this location to pick out the rugs / pads which was another nightmare. Waited over an hour for an employee to assist met. Went back to pay and the prior employee never entered any info in the system which took another hour. Trying to find help is like looking for a needle in a haystack. Been over a month since my initial phone call and still no call back to set up the rug install. Management needs to be terminated. Never any employees around and no sense of urgency. Your better off paying the local businesses. Will never use them for another home improvement project. read more

They put broken items back on the shelf when people return them. The last straw was today. even the locked spray tips were used, clogged with paint, returned, taped back in the package and put back in the cabinet. We weren't greeted when walking in and weren't asked for help initially, but that was just at the entrance because we stopped to look at a grill. Luckily, an employee was walking by and we were able to ask him for help. He answered our question and we went on to search for the item we originally came in for. Thankfully Lowe's website tells you what aisle and bay your item is online. So we were able to find our item right away. Thanks for that Lowe's! Lowe's is Lowe's. Building Supplies are Building Supplies. But I do love this Lowe's! The staff is really great and very friendly! They always have what I need in stock and if not, they can order it and have it the next day at no charge! They definitely have more of a selection then the Home Depot in Hamburg. We just bought a our first house and have been remodeling it/fixing it up for the past 4 months, we are in there almost 4 days a week! They know me by name and face! I should have known they couldn't help me when they didn't know what a flat of something was in the lawn and garden center. I realize that not everyone will know what Creeping Jenny is, but a flat should be a given. This Lowes proved to be one of the worst stops I've made to any Lowes. Makes me want to go back to Home Depot, but they couldn't help me out on this request and left a flat cart with wood sticking out of it so that my wife could trip on it - real nice. Back to Lowes - this particular store wasn't as organized as they normally are and the people were about as helpless as I've seen. The selection of plants looked horrible and very picked over. Ordered fence and installation in April, was told 6-8 weeks. After 12 weeks they delivered parts and sent installation team only to find out the wrong stuff was ordered. Almost zero communication since and am still without a fence, terrible customer service whenever I call get transferred around with no information. Recently purchased a garage door opener here and paid to have it installed. Rather than work with us on scheduling a time to install we were assigned a time. The installer arrived at the appointed time but told due to several other incomplete jobs he needed to follow up on asked if he could reschedule. We did, at his convenience, so which necessitated my losing a day of work. The installer was 2 1/2 hours late( I could have worked and been home in time for this). For a job that should generally take 4-6 hours took our installer( subcontracted byLowes through 'Handy.com), 6 hours the first day(2:30-8:30 PM Friday) and from 10:40 AM -5:30 PM on Saturday. We had to cancel and reschedule some appointments for that Saturday because of this. We had made several calls to our Lowe's and was told ' no allowances are made' for our multiple inconveniences and loss of wages. A letter has been sent to Corporate headquarters in Minnesota but have received no response thus far. We are exceptionally disappointed sinceLowe's has been our go-to store for multiple purchases and installation. Unless we receive appropriate satisfaction from Lowe's we will never return there and share our story with friends, family and neighbors looking for recommendations. read more

Just had a washer delivered this morning. I was supposed to have a dryer delivered as well. I was never informed at the time of purchase that the old dryer needed to be unhooked. I was also told they would walk me through hooking up the new one. This did not happen. There was no sense of urgency or desire to rectify the situation. I had them return the new dryer. The store manager didn't seem to eager to solve the problem either. Not to mention I never received a call about the 2hour window regarding the delivery time. They called 10 minutes prior! This place needs more employees. I've been here multiple times in the past month and I always seem to be waiting for assistance.

I will not be using this store again for any projects that need to be installed. We ordered new flooring with installation. The person that came to measure the floor, was not the person who installed it. Many extra items were placed on the order that weren't needed, but they didn't order trim pieces which I DID need. The people who installed the flooring (3 rooms) did a great job and even picked up the trim pieces before returning the next day to finish the project. He went out of his way to make sure that we were satisfied. After the job was finished, we had several items that had to be returned to the store as they were not needed. There was a complete lack of communication within the store itself. We also ordered windows to be installed. Lowes sent out a guy to show us what windows were available. A complete waste of time. Then another guy came out to measure the windows. He was very professional and came out a second time to make sure he had the correct measurements. He stated that the person who orders the windows had been ordering the wrong sizes, so he was following up. He came to install the windows, but Lowes had not even delivered them to our home. He was scheduled through Lowes for the installation. There was again was a total lack of communication of the Lowes employees at the store. When the installer went to Lowes to pick up the windows, they had misplaced them! I will NEVER use Lowes again! read more

I am so disappointed and frustrated with the fence/gate installation department and manager at the Orchard Park Lowes location. I have been trying to get a fence gate installed for 2 months with little, and now, NO correspondence from the Lowes recommended contractor or Lowes manager. The contractor that Lowes recommended came to my house 2 months ago and measured for the gate. It eventually came in and I picked up the special order gate. Since my gate arrived, neither the contractor or the Lowes manager will call me back after numerous calls and messages to install the gate. I do not understand how Lowes can recommend a contractor who doesn't follow through on his work, AND have a store manager who won't return a customers call. I have a gate that I can't get installed. I know everything is taking longer to get done during Covid, but these people won't even call me to schedule the install, or tell me if they are going to do it or not! Purchased 9,700 Pella windows to be installed. The installation is horrible and they have never completed the job. The customer service is the absolute worst I have ever experienced. They came in January and in March both times they did not have the materials necessary to complete the installation. The workmanship is terrible, windows not properly fastened, flashed or square to name a few of the issues. One window that was completed does not open properly it is installed crocked! and there is water coming into my home! I didn't expect this, what a rip off! Customer service is awful, no follow through. Go somewhere else, anything would be better than this! I have so much time involved and aggravation trying to resolve this! read more

I was in the market for a garage heater and on the Lowes web site found they sell a 50,000 BTU gas garage heater. The web site however showed I could not pick one up at my local store. They offer "Web Chat" where from the site you text back and forth with your question. The person indicated the closest store to have the unit I wanted was over 80 miles away. They suggested that I go to the store and see if a heater could be transferred from one of the other stores or order one from the manufacturer. I went to the store and the front desk could not help me and explained that I would need to talk to a manager who was not available at the time so I left my name, Tel # and explanation of what I was looking for. I stopped back to the store a total of 4 times over a period of a week asking to see a manager but they were not available and I never even got a call to at least say they can not do anything. We had two projects (doors and windows) replaced to our complete satisfaction. The third project (additional windows) was completely unacceptable. I should have realized when their sub contractor didn't return my calls to arrange a starting date that I was in for trouble. After completing the work we noticed several problems with the installation, we contacted management and they promised to sends a re- inspector,when he didn't arrive ,we called to be informed that he had forgotten about us, arriving about five hours late. He inspected the faulty installation(s), and said he would get back to us , we didn't hear from Lowes for a month. We called back, bottom line , they sent us a check for $200 (which we returned) and now we proudly show the quality of Lowes workmanship to all of our friends , warning them , and NOW warning all others. read more

Lowe's is suppose to be a great store. However, this location in Hamburg, NY is a nightmare. I purchased a grill and asked for it to be assembled came back the next day it was not they gave me the box I took it because they gave me a 10% discount (logically thinking the cover for the grill would be free) I started to assemble the grill only to see it was bent and damaged beyond usable. I returned to the store to return the grill and receive an assembled grill to pick up. I got to the store only to find out that grill was also damaged when I came to pick it up. They acted like they didn't care that it was assembled wrong our damaged. The manager even told me that they are aware of damaged goods because of the delivery truck workers just throw the boxes everywhere in the trucks and do not take care of the products when bringing them into the stores. I am completely dissatisfied with my visits at this location. If I need a Lowe's specific product I will be driving an extra 10-20 miles to another location for the product or hopefully Home Depot or Ace will have the products I am looking for in the future. read more
