(I should title this review NO WONDER THE LOWES PARKING LOT WAS ALMOST EMPTY AND THE HOME DEPOT'S WAS FULL) Went in this store planning to return a FEW items and BUY much more. However this particular day I was greeted by 2 of the rudest, least cordial women the finest Florence ghetto had to offer. Not a "hello" or " welcome to Lowes" nothing!! You could tell they didn't like people of my ethnic background right from the jump. Nor do they like working there and could care less about actual customer service. So their not so nice demeanor told me this was going to be as waste of time dealing with them. But I tried anyway. Sure enough I was told my receipt was 4 months old and they only allow a 3 month window for returns. The 2 items I was returning hadn't been opened or used. A simple store credit would've taken less time than their argument or the time it's taking me to type this. So I asked to speak to a manager and yet again I'm out of luck bcuz "friendly" girl number 2 says with an attitude she was the manager!! I asked them can they make a 1 time exception? They both shook their heads no. I asked them have they ever heard the saying the customer is always right? They rolled their eyes and said no. I said so if I tell u I'm a life long customer of Lowes and will no longer spend a single dime in ANY of their stores because of their inaction this day are they OK with that? And their answer was YEP!! Then I took my useless items, go to leave but the electric doors wouldn't open and were stuck closed!! That right there sealed the deal with my relationship with Lowes. I had to walk out of the garden section just to get back to the parking lot. Funny thing is the returns mightve totalled $30 or $40 yet I was going to spend over $200 that day. So i hope that lil chump changed they saved this day was worth hundreds or thousands of future $ from me. Oh well their loss was Home Depots gain. Went straight to Home Depot and was greeted with all smiles and positive people. Great job Lowes you're hiring the worst of the worst and even giving them promotions Im sure Im not the only one these useless bums have treated the wrong way. A whirlpool dryer was delivered to my home on Friday, 1/19/2024 by 2 Lowes delivery technicians. It was wired, plugged in and placed on a run-in cycle. The appliance was installed without any leveling adjusters. I sent a text to the technician that he had left his hand truck at my house. Later in the afternoon, he called and retuned to pick up. While I was on the phone with him I asked about leveling the dryer. He said he noticed that the leveling pins were not in the drum. I asked him if he could pick 4 up, he said I would have to get a new unit and take the leveling pins out. I'm not sure if he was being funny, sarcastic or if that is Lowes protocol. Why did he not tell me of the missing levelers ahead of time he new they were missing? I AM NOT SATISFIED WITH THE DELIVERY AND SET UP, NOR THE APPLIANCE. The door is bent and doesn't close tightly. My mom loves Lowe's. Everywhere we go, she must stop by a Lowe's and check out their flowers and plants! There's always a rack of discounted flowers and plants at the back of the gardening section at each location. They tend to have some pretty good deals on the rack (per my mom). The store is clean, well lit and well organized. The sales associates were friendly. They have a ton of real Christmas trees--small potted ones and medium/large cut ones. There's also a nice selection of artificial trees and indoor/outdoor holiday decor. read more

I needed a new fence around my property and decided to go thru Lowe's.I made the appointment and Ed came and never showed me any pictures of fences just the 2 different colors because I said I didn't;t want white. He measured my property and pretty much gave me a fence he chose. No pictures and charged me almost $10,000. for a cheap fence that when the wind blows hard or it rains hard the tops of the poles flies all over my yard and the neighbors yard. Why is this even happening? The guys that came and installed the fence did a good job but Ed came and cheated me. I know he did.He marked up the measurements and charged me what he wanted to charge me for some cheap plastic he called a fence that he chose for me because he didn't show me not one picture or examples that I could choose for myself. I wasn't in my right mind having just had total hip replacement.I am devastated at this junk. Stopped off at this Lowes since I was in the area and had such a bad experience at the one in Conway (see that updated review). Has a better experience this time here. Had no difficulty finding sales assistance and located all the items I needed. Not sure what has changed over the years, service at Lowes and Home Depot used to be so much better. I recall multiple salespersons offering assistance while shopping in the past. I guess cost cutting measures have cut staff. That seems to be the mantra from the salespersons I spoke to when I asked. But either way, it is still a place to compare multiple items. read more

Much better Christmas tree/greenery selection and price than Home Depot. We were there to get lumber for a project and weren't really sure what we needed. We know we needed plywood and needed it cut. The store was very busy and we were about to walk out but then a guy named Randell asked if we needed help or anything cut and we went with it. He was extremely nice and quick with the cutting, seemed very experienced and professional. The cuts were perfect. I felt reassured in my project. Thanks Randell! read more

Like it often happens at Lowes, I went in for 1 $5 part and they don't have it in stock. Instead I spend 3X as much so I can " make it work". Then the icing on the cake... A couple is walking their dog around the store. (Not a device dog) When did this become common practice?! I don't want your dog sniffing me in the hardware store and I sure as hell don't want them in a cart that I put my food in at the grocery store. Since the store employees apparently don't have the backbone to tell you that this is against the law, I'll fill you in. 10:30 on a Thursday morning, I walk into the Florence South Carolina store on David H. McLeod Blvd., quickly find a lawnmower part with the assistance of a great sales associate. I proceed to check out and no self check out registers have been activated. Walk to the one open register and the clerk is tied up on complex warranty and coupon purchase. Way over his head. Ten minutes later still in line with 5 others behind me I step out of line go to customer service now they are backed up starting to ring out customers. I ask for the store manager and am pointed to the manager in the corner of the store talking to an employee. I walk over and ask him if he realizes all the self-checkouts have not been activated and there is one active register in the main store and customers are backed up in the one register line and now customer service is also backed up trying to check out customers. He tells me "no he doesn't know that because he's too busy running the entire store." Then he says he'll take care of it yet he doesn't move and continues his dialog with the other store employee basically dismissing me by not continuing our discussion or taking action. Well if check out isn't the heart of the business what else has him so distracted etc. He was rude, unresponsive and very unprofessional as a result, of this experience, I shall never go to this Lowes ever again and if I can find any other store beside Lowes I shall never use any Lowes, where ever I am again. This is for the David McLeod Blvd location in Florence, SC. And it was originally 5 Stars because I thought we were on the right path. And all is true... Until... Please read to the end! PLEASE! After an on line order was sent to me, I discovered it was the wrong item. The store manager, Gary and dept. manager, Tim immediately realized it was a Lowe's.com error, not only took care of me but also reported the problem to the home office to make sure the same thing didn't happen to another customer. And although I am very disappointed my bathroom completion will have to wait until the new shower door comes in, I appreciate their helpfulness and positive attitude. I hope it all works out. Update... It's been a little over a month now and I still don't have the shower door and now my contractor he had to move to another job. Tim is trying very had to get it for me but my high end "special order" shower door has become a nite mare. Update#2... Finally, got the right shower door delivered but now having trouble finding someone to install it since the local Lowe's has lost their installer and my project guy had to move on to another job. Although, having this fabulous door sit in the box, in my bedroom... A shower curtain will have to do for now. Help me, Lowe's Update #3... The Assistance Store Manager, Bonnie informed me there was no hope of them providing an installer after months of waiting for the right special order shower door to come in... She is now telling me to return and go somewhere else to order another shower door that has an installation person so they can install it. She wants me to return the shower door to Lowe's for a refund. I can not even believe this is her advise! 3 months at least into this project and this is the advise she gives. Are you freaking kidding me!?!?!? Update #4 I got the right shower door finally. I finally had it installed. This review went from a 5 star to a 1 star. I now moved it to a 3... At this point, the only thing I can say about the whole experience... I will NEVER do a special order again from Lowe's. It was a nightmare and just took way to long to finally get the right door. What should have taking no more than 10 days, turned out to be roughly a 4 month project and a job to stay on top of Lowe's to get it all corrected. read more

Keith from Lock and Key .... On March 29th around 3pm my mother and I entered Lowe's at the David H. Mcleod Blvd. Florence, SC location in search for a particular lock and key pad combination. As we entered the lock and key area, we noticed the associate looked busy and we assumed he must've been helping other customers. We looked around for a while before an associate by the name of Tito came by and asked if we needed help. My mother explained what she was looking for and he kindly informed us that he was new and he would try his best. Tito helped for a little bit then asked Keith, the man who didn't acknowledge us when we first entered the area, with his "expertise" in helping my mom. Keith made it known that he didn't want to help us by stating that the lock and key pad combination my mother was looking for didn't make sense and repeatedly said "it defeated the purpose." Besides telling us that over and over he never suggested what he thought would be a better option. Tito stepped in and asked him, "what would he suggest then?" Finally, Keith gave us the brand name. Tito was exceptional, patient and exhibited great customer service for only working there shortly. For those who choose to work in customer service, please understand you chose to work in this industry. If that's not what you like to do, please apply elsewhere and spare customers to receiving bad and unforgettable service. read more

So I went to Lowes and asked 10 different black dudes where the bathroom was because I had to pee and was sent in 10 different directions I couldn't find it anywhere. Then a customer was walking around with their pet cat on a leash, it wasn't a seeing eye cat either, when did Lowes just let anybody in the store with their pets. Then I could find the part I was looking for and had to buy 10 parts to jerry rig it to work. So I go to check out at the business cashier but they are backed up with all these guys buying lumber, so I go to the regular cashier, they only have 1 person working and it's backed up into the lighting section, so then I go to the self check out but none of those were working, So I go to the customer service desk and the girl was on the phone pretending not to see me, so I go to the garden shop to check out and they were totally backed up with women buying flowers, the cashier was waiting for somebody to come and tell her how much the daisies were, nothing was moving there, so I go and find the manager who looked like he was 15 years old and was more interested in some young female customers and helping them, after spending like an hour just to pay for my 2 items, I have to traverse the entire length of the store for like the tenth time just to get to area of the parking lot where my truck was, when I get there somebody had left their cart out and the wind blew it into the side of my truck leaving a dent and a scratch. I had to call the police to come out and make a report for my insurance company. It took them over an hour and a half to respond and show up. The cop acted like he had better things to do and gave me a ticket for my out of date license tag. I'm reporting him to the city council! read more

These guys are awesome. We worked hurricane Florence in north and South Carolina and we're headed to Panama City to work hurricane Michael. We were three minutes late And it would have taken us much longer tomorrow to get to a store and then get to work. David saw the situation we are in and help us get what we needed so that we were able to get directly to work to help start getting the areas affected by hurricane Michael back on track. I called Lowe's Home Improvement Warehouse of Florence on David McLeod Blvd and the lady answering the phone was very unhappy and short. She transferred me to the appropriate department and I was accidentally disconnected. I called again and the young lady talked very rude and transferred me before I could finish my sentence. I was once again disconnected and I called the number again. The young lady spoke very quickly and I could not understand her and I don't believe she understood what I was saying. She hung up on me again. She honestly hung up on me. I will not be using Lowes again. Tomorrow I will be calling Home Depot. There is no excuse for the lack of professionalism. read more

I had the worst experience today at Lowes! I had ordered 10days ago a whole bathroom set up! From the tile to the shower door and the vanity as well as the toilet seat! Today they called that everything is ready!! Yet... my whole order was messed up... different finish on the shower door... the toilet seat they don't make them anymore and the vanity that they told me is here is.... well not sure but not in store... i have been a loyal customer of Lowes for years but I guess nothing stay good for along period of time!! Would definitely NOT recommend it at this time!! I guess waste of time and frustration... maybe Home Depot next time yet have not had much experience with them... very disappointing... read more
