You never know what you are going to find if you have the patience to sift through the bins on the days they allow the boxes to be open at the examination tables. They used to allow examination all the way until $1.00 day, but they changed it to $2.50 day now, so if you don't go by then you can pretty much bet that anything left in an unnamed box is likely something you don't want or need. They have made some changes over the past month or so and allow shopping carts in the store, which take up way too much space, and you can't move around them easily on the new cycle (usually on Saturday which is $12.50 day). There are too many people trying to score a deal with those carts and blocking the bins, and is upsetting. I wish they would not allow those carts until later in the day on Saturday after that initial rush occurs and could allow it the rest of the week as it usually isn't that busy (other than $1.00 day of course). I've scored several great deals there and usually get things from 70 to 90% off retail price. As for their "retail" section, I feel overall they are mostly overpriced. They market it as 50% off "retail", but quite a few items are still too high. When they do the additional 25% off then you are getting a good deal on top of the 50% and that is when I usually shop the "retail" section. Overall though, I'm glad they are there because I have been able to find several great things at an excellent price!

I watch the way they engage with their customers and I was very impressed. These personable ladies are very nice and warm and I highly recommend doing business with them. Lastly and equally important, they take careful measures to protect against fraud by asking for legit ID, fingerprints and photos, when doing business. This is a measure I approve of because it protects their business, the seller and the customer. I personally give these folks 5/5 stars. Good businesses like this are hard to find.

I told her I would go home and think about what I wanted and call her the next day. I was so very grateful for all the info she had given me the night before. I placed the order first thing the next day. Debbie was patient and kind. I had no idea what I wanted and she walked me down the path to get the end result that I expected. She made the process easy and I was able to do everything over the phone. I am almost 200 miles away. This helped me out. I hope my friend's family enjoys the arrangement. That is, until a (now former) doctor of mine in Jacksonville referred me to Lamar's. That's where I encountered Mr. James, as I call him, and his friendly staff of ladies at the shoppe/pharmacy. Mr. James and his staff go by the book, they do not judge and they offer EXCELLENT service. No one is saying ignorant things like here in Douglas where I was told my disorders "do not exist " and that I should just "go to church". When I was referred there, Mr. James filled my first script, and I was initially worried about being judged, but after my first script, I made sure I had ALL my meds transferred there. Even still, not an ounce of judgement. The level of professionalism and kindness has resulted in my now being a customer for years, and the pricing is life-saving. I can afford all my meds with ease. And just today, I was reminded why my loyalty will always be with this pharmacy. For one, when my truck gave me trouble, I was already an established customer, I was transparent about this with them and asked if my classmate could come pick up my scripts for me. They kindly allowed me to pay for my meds over the phone and after my authorization, allowed me to have my classmate pick up my meds. Anyhoo, today, my neighbor took me, and I went in there in person to pay, I realized they no longer accept tap payment because some people's payments weren't going through and they weren't being paid. That's when another young lady stepped from the back and said, "if it's a customer we trust, it's okay". I don't know if she realized I heard her but it meant everything to me that they trust me just as I trust them. I told her and the new young lady that they never have to worry about my payments not going through, and I meant that. When I got back in the car, my neighbor asked why do I ride nearly 30 miles each way to get my meds every month. I told her what had just happened and how I have always had a great experience with them since day one and that's a relief someone like me is rarely afforded. She nodded in agreement as we enjoyed a peaceful ride home. All in all, it was Lamar's Pharmacy treating me with dignity that made me accept my diagnosis/disorders and that things like that happen when you endure two brain surgeries. Their professionalism and refusal to insert personal beliefs into their patients' medical scripts is why I refuse to take my business elsewhere and highly recommend you check them out if you need a pharmacy that's reliable, respectful and 200% about helping their customers. You can even tell them I sent you! P.S. Even if you don't need scripts filled, check them out! They have nostalgic toys and crafts they sell for small business owners and local creators. And best of all, they have ice they use at the soda fountain that's the best in the state. They sell it by the bag and you get a LOT for the best ice in Soutb GA. I call it "gourmet ice" because it's so soft and chewable. Perfect treat for these hot summers. Just take a large cooler bag with you so it doesn't melt on the way home. You can thank me later.
