In store contact was wonderful. gentleman that assisted was courteous, took his time making sure I knew the benefits of my selection and the ability of the company to get my product to me as quickly as possible. As my fridge quit working suddenly and I needed one immediately, I went with a delivery date of two days later between 4-8, After leaving my son's soccer game early to make sure I arrive for delivery I wait. At about 630 I receive a call informing me my time has been pushed back to 7-9. Fine. No problem. At 910 with prior commitments awaiting I call the number that had called me. After a ten minute hold I find out my delivery is now being set for a whole other day, 2 days away with a time frame of 12 hours. So I pay for a service that is no longer of any benefit to me and my choosing of the product because of its quick delivery time feame has now become a nuisance. I can honestly say the poor way this is being ran, overbooking and the inability to account for people's jobs and time, I will find another store for my major appliances in the future. I've been a long time customer with Lowe's, purchasing my washer and dryer, and a lot of my household remodel stuff from here but that will no longer be the case. While the amount of money I spend may not be significant to some companies I will ensure in the future I find one that does value my money, my time, my business andy loyalty. read more

I had a job interview there yesterday. Was a half hour early as I am for most interviews. Sat another 15mins past my interview time. It started bad instantly. When she asked why I hadn't worked a job in a long time I explained I have been disability social security for mental health problems. Immediately the vibe in the room changed. And I felt so wrongly judged. It was like no So are you doing better? It was pure judgement and her saying something like OH SO YOU HAVENT WORKED?! It made me feel so low. So inadequate. Like I was worthless. She seemed so cold and very judgemental. Then she said there's no guaranteed hours. But it's part time. I told her I have completely open availability but would need time off for counseling and my wife's broken back she sustained in a car wreck. That didn't seem to go over well at all by her responses and body language. Then to the drug test. Which she said absolutely no drugs. We test to start and randomly. I explained I had my Medical Marijuana Card to treat my severe anxiety and ptsd(but I wouldn't be using it on the clock) That didn't go over well either. Completely shittiest interview ever. Felt like an interrogation. Constantly being judged. Me and my wife had over 500$ in our Lowe's cart online. We will NEVER BUY A SINGLE THING FROM THEM EVER AGAIN!!!! DONT TAKE MENTAL HEALTH SERIOUSLY OR RESPECT PPL STRUGGLING WITH IT ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY WANT TO WORK! She wraps up the "Interview" with well well keep your application on file for 30 Days. This place is run by a bunch of amateur kids who know very little about professional behavior and customer service. After four (4) different delivery/installation teams have attempted to deliver and install my washer/dryer set I had to hire someone else to finish the job. The first kid from the XD said that he didn't do installations and if I had a problem with that to call Lowes. I called the Athens store and spoke with some kid who wouldn't tell me his name but insisted that I call him Mr Assistant Manager: he basically told me that if I didn't like how Lowes does business that I was welcome to shop elsewhere. After over 29 phone calls between the XD, the Athens store, and corporate, I asked for a refund and was told that they would send another delivery team to pick up the appliances. Almost 30 days later, and multiple phone calls to corporate, they still haven't come to get the appliances, so I hired Menards to come finish the job. read more

Poor customer service. Called ahead 4 hours ahead of time to see if my order I placed for pick-up 2 days prior was ready and they told me yes. Drove to pick it up with another truck and trailer to wait an hour and be told it wasn't ready. Such a waste of time and poor service. If it wasn't ready they should have just told us so we could have left and come back the next day when it was ready. Instead we lost an hour of work time for no reason. read more

Lowe's in Athens, Ohio has consistently provided me with poor service. It began when I purchased a composite counter top for my kitchen. The cost for this, including installation of the top, but not the plumbing was about $2000.00. Fair enough. At the time of the purchase I told the salesman that later we would want to install an island and have a matching top made. He said that would be no problem. The top measures 34"x 39". Lowe's price: $2000.00. That was a problem!! We located a small shop in Vienna West Virginia (The Top Shop) who made it for $500.00, a fair price. We bought ten replacement windows from Lowe's. When we unpacked one big window we discovered a screen that was badly damaged. Lowe's refused to repair or replace it. We had to take it to a hardware store and pay for the repair. Today I called to make sure they had cement blocks in stock, was told that they did. They didn't. A thirty mile trip for nothing. We now drive forty miles to Parkersburg, West Virginia for major purchases. We have recently bought a washer, dryer, kitchen range and a refrigerator from Home Depot. Home Depot has consistently provided me with good service. read more

I would give you negative stars if possible. I purchased three replacement windows from Lowes salesman, Bill Peneston, on 11-28-2017. I was told that the windows would be made by the end of Dec., 2017 and they would be installed the first part of Jan., 2018. Bill then said the install would take place in mid Jan., 2018, then changed to the end of Jan., 2018. Then I was told the first part of Feb. 2018. After numerous phone calls and no response to this date, Feb. 19,2018 , I figure that Lowes has breeched their contract of which I paid in full on 11-28-2017. I will mail my complaint form to Lowes Corporate office in Mooresville, N.C. and a complaint form to the Ohio Attorney Generals office tomorrow (Feb. 20, 2018) as this nonsense has gone on entirely too long. I would advise anyone not to do business with Lowes in Athens, Ohio. read more

I've never posted a bad review before today and have worked in customer service my whole life (so I get that things happen). However, my boyfriend and I ordered new flooring for our home two weeks ago, with everything stocked at the store and we set delivery for yesterday 9/12/20 (and paid for that scheduled delivery). I took off of work so that it could actually be delivered and we had a contractor coming tomorrow (Monday 8/14/20) to install this flooring. It still says online that our scheduled delivery date is 9/12 though. I called customer service and the woman did nothing but say that she's not sure why it wasn't delivered, as everything just needed to be put loaded on the flatbed truck and delivered, and gave me the number for the store. I called and was transferred to the delivery manager, who didn't answer. I called back three more times without even getting an answer. This is extremely frustrating because we paid all of this money for flooring and the scheduled delivery fee and I can't even get someone on the phone to do something about this. I also missed an entire day of work for nothing which is more money out of my pocket. I've always gone to Lowe's and we've spent a lot of money there but unfortunately I think we will be taking our business to Home Depot, considering they have exceptional customer service in my experience. read more

They say they have curbside pickup. They do not. Wasted an entire morning. Go to C&E until Menards opens. I will not be back.

Menards will open in Athens, Ohio soon enough and hopefully will put an end to the price bubble for certain products at the Athens Lowes. ALL surrounding Lowes stores in Marietta, Lancaster, Chillicothe, and Parkersburg have the same price for things like 3.5 inch by 10 foot PVC pipe or 4 foot by 12 foot by 1/2 inch thick drywall: around $9.
