On Feb 6, 2026 @ 12:45:32, I was at the Alamogordo Lowes Home Improvement Store #1761. I went there because I was working on a project for my home. I needed a number of items in various departments. I'm 74 years old and I can walk but it's hard. There were 4 individuals at this store that day that were VERY HELPFUL to an old man who needed help. Their names were: SUSAN, DONALD, JOHNATHAN, & JIMMY. They were extremely helpful and patient with me in the nearly hour that they were helping me, answering my numerous questions, and organizing my multiple purchases. The lady at checkout was also very quick and helpful. I didn't get her name. The customer service these individuals displayed was OUTSTANDING!!!! They should receive commendations etc. from the store manager, regional manager, and Lowes corporate. I missed the 7-day deadline to use the survey on the receipt, so I'm doing it this way. read more

Ill keep my business with Home Depot. False advertising! I gotta deal with the day promo on my phone on Lowe's app's website and when I went to purchase it, it said it was out of stock. No we're on the website or the app did it say that it was online only. So I called the store in Las Cruces, New Mexico and the service desk informed they would've honored the price if they had available stock but when I called Alamogordo New Mexico, they said they would not honor this price and I could come in with my phone and try talking with a manager. I'm not gonna beg I'm not gonna cause a scene in order to get something I want that I feel was falsely advertise. I just think Lowe's needs to be better at advertising these items online because I wasted a hour of my time this morning when I should have been productive. I paid for installation of my new washer and dryer when I purchased them. The "installer" told me that I did not pay to actually have the plumbing hooked up. So what did I pay $50 for? When I called to complain, all I got was excuses presented as if I had made the error in expecting plumbing hook up to be included in the install! read more

I was a loyal customer of Lowe's for years. I've spent thousands of $$ including major appliances. I don't know if it's management but customer service has gone to hell. You can't find someone to help or to answer a question and FORGET that customer service desk. It's the antithesis of customer service. I've taken my business to the orange box store down the street and couldn't be more satisfied with their product and staff. My only regret is I waited so long to make the change. read more

Have always loved Lowe's for their liberal return policies, but no more. Apparently new CEO, from Home Depot no less, has implemented a strict 90 policy on returns. Went into effect about one month ago. Over 90 days, no return/exchange/refund. I purchased several bags of mortar about 6 months ago for the remodel of three bathrooms. Just finished and had one bag left over so took it back to Lowe's but the would not accept it. Outside the 90 days. If you have any products from Lowe's that is approaching the 90 day limit and you are not sure that you will be using them, return them and get your money back now. If you should need them in the future you can always buy what you need at that time. Update: today (12/22/19) I took in a broken Kobalt tape measure, the tape had snapped. My understanding was that Kobalt had lifetime warranty. They asked for my receipt, which I did not have, and then asked if purchased in last 90 days, which I did not know. After some back and forth they finally agreed to replace the tape measure. But they were specific that the replacement had only a 90 days warranty. Be sure to confirm that the tools you buy have a lifetime warranty and that you get a copy of the warranty and file it away where you can find it. They have developed a habit of changing the rules in the middle of the game. read more

NEVER USE LOWES INSTALLATION SERVICES!!! 202 days from purchase/full payment to project end, over 6 months to; hang cabinets, Countertops, install lighting, long enough to build a whole house. I had to tell the installers how to hang wall cabinets and tell them to use a level, straight edge and tape measure for installing lowers. Definitely not what I paid for, without mentioning the attitude of the installer/contractor who took exception to my pointing out the inferior and downright crappy workmanship. My experience was definitely unpleasant, the work quality was questionable, and Lowes Store and Corporate responses to my concerns were, take it or leave it, no refunds or compensation without agreeing to a non-disclosure agreement absolving them from any liability for the work and any future problems, before reading it. I purchased a $400 building Permit at Lowes for the project, no permit was issued by Otero County nor the state of New Mexico, Lowes refuses to refund the money for an undelivered purchase. I also paid an additional $225 to the Electrical sub-contractor to complete the installation/replacement of defective lighting products, fearing my warrantee would be invalid if I completed it, or used another contactor. Lowes corporate initially offered me $500, $105 less than the permit and electrical completion cost, then increased it to $750, and eventually to a $1000 offer which expired 12 days after being mailed, 4 days after being received. Lowes never offered to refund the Permit fee, just a blanket amount requiring a non-disclosure agreement, which they never sent for review. No response was made to my question "Will the non-disclosure/liability agreement void my product and installation warrantee"? Take it or leave it, that is the corporate answer. I purchased a kitchen install with appliances ($25,000) the Lowes assumes no responsibility for the quality of work nor the appallingly long project completion time, over 6 months from full payment date. Lowes identified the installer, not my choice then refers back to the installer for any complaints and concerns, not stating they only took your money and you are on your own with any problems with the installation services. The Alamogordo store stated "The permit fee is just used for any additional stuff needed to complete the job". Lowes corporate answer is "You hired the installer, you deal with him, not us", take it or leave it. Additionally The "New" GE electric range needed 3 burners replaced within 60 days of instillation, and the under cabinet LED lighting was defective and failed before the job was completed. I previously purchased and installed a ceiling fan which caught fire the moment I turned it on, as did the second fan replacing it. I gave up and went to Home Depot where I got a fan that works, and doesn't catch fire. The attic ventilator fan I purchased a Lowes died within 6 months of installation, another crapy producty sold by Lowes. Poor quality products even poorer instillation workmanship, skip Lowes and go anywhere else, just my opinion based on my experience. I'm a bit peeved. I signed up for the military discount in January. Since then we bought over 1000 dollars worth of doors and cabinets. I go into Lowe's for a $200 tool and try to use the discount and I'm no longer in the system. The lady tells me to go sign up again. I go to the service counter where there is only one person working. She's on the phone and there is a line of people, not a moving line either, waiting for service. After a short time I just went and paid full price for the tool. I should have just left but Home Depot was out of the tool I needed. It also would have been $50 cheaper at Home Depot. I think Lowe's has lost my business. read more

Lowe's Home Improvement has always been the best for the house improvement needs. However, this particular stores employment has a lack of communication skills. I was waiting an hour for my pre-order. I ordered tile and a sink vanity. They didn't have all the tile?! One employee stated that they would contact me when the more tile come in. I was waiting for an hour (no exaggeration) for them to bring the vanity and the only tile they had. I had to load the sink vanity into my vehicle after being told they would assist me. I am a independent woman although lifting a sink vanity myself was obviously very difficult. Returning after several weeks, they finally had my tile. I drove 30 minutes to retrieve the tile I ordered. This process should have been an easy pick up because I had contacted them before I left and told them specifically what time I would be arriving. Although, I had contacted them. It was an hour before I recurved my tile. Overall, this made my home project a 4-5 month time frame when it should have taken me 1-2 months. Due to the lack of service, I will NOT be returning to this particular Lowe's. read more

What I was looking for required some research and some patience because I am not very knowledgeable. She showed me patience and kindness and most importantly, answers. I've been to this store dozens of times as we have 3 rental properties in Ruidoso so I come for supplies for repairs or improvements. Usually don't need much help but we just purchased all new appliances and cabinets - on different dates. I've had to change the delivery date 3 times and each time they were professional and courteous. Each time they have delivered in the past, they have arrived as scheduled and I've never had any issues at all. read more

Don't expect anything as far as professionalism or customer service and you won't be disappointed. If you expect indifference and odd behavior then you are in the right ballpark. I am not a fan. Typical Alamogordo low standards and devilish contempt for decent customers. Just saying... I would complain to the management but it seems like they are at the top of the pile... So here I am sounding like a bitter jerk of a person... When actually I am kind, thoughtful and considerate. Three years ago I bought new cabinets and top of the line appliances and six months later the installation was almost completed......A couple months ago I ordered storm doors and the clerk was very helpful but then the trouble started when trying to get them installed and after a couple weeks of promises and disappointments I got my money back for the installation and hired my own contractor. Customer service was terrible. I had ordered interior doors and a $2,000 front door that I cancelled. Today, I bought over $600 worth of butcher block counter tops but finding someone to help me took about thirty minutes and the clerk that finally did help was hesitate. After paying for the counter tops I asked for help in loading them........was told maybe and she called for help. NO ONE SHOWED AFTER THIRTY MINUTES so I asked for the store manager and was told he wasn't there so asked for the assistant manager and got the same answer.......I walked out and managed to get them loaded. Was going to order all hardware for three bathrooms BUT HAVE DECIDED LOWES DOESN'T WANT MY MONEY .....I AM DONE WITH LOWES. read more

I went to Lowe's last night to get a garden hose holder. I walked down the aisle. An employee who works in the department assisted me and I picked out the one that she showed me. I asked her if the price was correct. She said yes. I asked her again and she said yes that is the correct price. I went to the front, it was closing time, and the Cashier Sandra rang me up. I told her the price was incorrect and that the associate in that department told me that the price was $10.00 cheaper than what rang up. She said she would get a price check. She continued to scan and bag my other items and we waited for a call back. Finally got a call back from a different associate. She said that the price was correct. I disagreed. Then she said that the price was $6.00 cheaper. That was the sale price. I told her the associate who was working in that section told me the price was $10.00 cheaper. She said that it was not on sale anymore. And then she said again that it was $6.00 cheaper. Being that it was now after 8pm, and there was another individual behind me, I told her to take it off my receipt and I did not want it. I don't think she even went to check with the associate or look at the sign that was posted where I got the item. Very disheartening to know that people don't want to work with you on a price. If it was incorrectly priced that is there error, not mine. I have just recently bought a new washer and dryer and over the years many items totaling thousands of dollars from this store. As of today, I will be moving all my business to Home Depot. Sad that they don't think customers are important. read more

We used to love shopping and buying at Lowe's in Alamogordo. Friendly, customer- service oriented employees. But, no longer which may be due to the inexperienced manager, Jose. Attention to detail like installing windows just doesn't get taken care of. We have been dealing with a bad installation of 15 windows for 8 long months. Nice that Lowe's let us know that they no longer use the installers that gravely installed our windows which have yet to be installed correctly. Don't waste your time on anything that needs to be installed with Lowe's. This is actually the second install gone bad for us to include kitchen counter-tops. There was a different manager then who take care of things but obviously not now. Customers are just not a priority. read more
