I didn't camp, but did spend some time walking around the park and taking pictures of the mountain range on the other side of Resurrection Bay. There are restrooms, picnics tables and shower houses at the park. Seward Waterfront Park extends from the boat harbor to the Alaska SeaLife Center near the downtown area. For activities, there are historical landmarks and interpretive signs along the Sea Otter Trail, a skatepark, wildlife viewing, RV parking, camping and a playground. When I was here, there was a cruise ship parked in the terminal. The best part for me was the view of the mountain range from across the bay. The snow on the mountains made for some beautiful photos.

Let me preface this by saying that this review is not in of itself indicative of what others may…read moreexperience since there are so many factors that come into play. The tour guides are perhaps the biggest factor that is in control by the company. The wildlife viewing and glacier kayaking experience is also dependent on how lucky nature views you. This of course is not this fault of the company, but may impact experience. With that long statement out of the way, let's talk about what happened during my excursion. To start, they go over the typical safety protocols to mitigate chances of issues that would occur. Then you embark on a roughly two hour ride to the kayaking destination. From there, you kayak about 4 miles to the glacier. It's just beautiful to enjoy the Alaskan waterfalls and viewpoints before arriving at the glacier. But once there, you're hit with the majestic beauty of the glacier. Due to safety reasons, we paddle until about 1 mile from the glacier, but it's big enough to be seen from a good ways away. If you're lucky you can see some ice calving. Then you enjoy some lunch from a spot near the glacier before embarking home. Along the way there and way back. The group was also fortunate to see some amazing wildlife! From porpoises to orcas, to whales, it was just a stroke of good luck! If you're in Seward, heck even Alaska, it is definitely worth taking this kayaking tour!

The calving of the glaciers, and iceberg and Mountain View's were incredible. So much wildlife out in June for our viewing. The whales were active and a once-in-a-lifetime experience. When i approached 2 different crew members about switching, I was basically told nothing could be done. They eventually switched us after an uncomfortable conversation with another table. I would recommend going to Kenai Fjords tour instead. What a waste of $1200. For context, we had a party of 7 consisting of 4 adults and 3 small children. For whatever reason they decided to put us at a 4-top table and combining the other 3 people with another table. We had an infant and were fine with having a 6-top and having the infant seated on a lap, but they felt otherwise. The table we were supposed to share with had spread their bags in the empty seats and were very resistant to sharing. One of them actually told my wife that she could sit on a backpack and refused to move and allow us to sit next to our family. While I am upset at the family, I am more upset that the staff didn't have someone monitoring the situation so that we were not put in an uncomfortable position of arguing with the table. Very uncomfortable and unprofessional.

We stayed two nights, one in a small cabin and one in the hostel portion. There are kayaks for rent and the caretakers are very helpful getting you set up with everything you need. In addition to two cabins and the bunk house there is an outhouse with a great view and a sauna which can help you destress even more. There is a common kitchen area to prepare meals and they have everything you need to cook. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a little adventure but not wanting to pitch a tent.

Angels Rest is located on Lowell Point just 2 miles down the dirt road form Seward and is an amazing place to get away for the weekend. My wife and I got engaged there early last year and just recently went back. We stayed in the Wing Cabin both times and just loved it. It had a great little kitchen and 2 rocking chairs in from of the two large windows overlooking the bay and the mountains. The binoculars are a great treat for watching the sea life play just off shore. Don't forget to bring a book!! It is real close to town and it's really not that far from Safeway. They offer a 5% discount for paying in cash. The bed was extremely comfortable too!! The cabins were very clean and the kitchen has enough plates, silverware, and cooking utensils for making what ever floats your boat. The kitchen also has a small fridge and they also provide a cooler to use. On the deck there is a gas BBQ grill and each cabin has it's own fire pit outside for use when warm enough. I believe they also sell ice and firewood if you forget yours. They are very good about getting back to you quickly if they are not able to answer the phone. We spent four nights in the Gatehouse Cabin at Angel's Rest in late June. The cabin has a…read morekitchenette with mini fridge, two burner gas stove, toaster and microwave. There are lots of great restaurant options in Seward, but it's so nice to be able to make your own breakfasts in your jammies. The kitchenette also came in handy for dinner one night, after we picked up fresh salmon near the pier at Capt Jack's. The cabin is surrounded by plants and trees that make it feel cozy and private, even though there are other cabins around it - so much nicer than staying in a hotel with hordes of other tourists surrounded by parking lots. There's a porch with fantastic water views, a small grill and two chairs. We picked up firewood and marshmallows for the firepit out front, which has a small bench. The stony beach is populated with ducks, gulls and cormorants tottering around the tidepools. On our last night we saw three eagles fishing, a sea otter lounging in the surf, and a harbor seal swim by. There were beautiful, tiny hummingbirds that visited the feeders on the porch every day. A number of kayak rental places dotted the road toward Lowell Point State Rec park - which is a short walk down the beach, and has some great hikes. Paul and Lynda have provided a wealth of information in a binder on tons of hikes and scenic drives all over the area, and well as recommendations for dining, tours, etc. The cabin is artistic-rustic-style, with pine ceilings and handmade headboard, but far more comfortable than we expected. The lovely accommodations and setting, coupled with the hosts' attention to detail and quick response to questions, make this the perfect place for your visit to the Kenai peninsula.

The fish was incredibly fresh--you could actually watch them fillet and prepare it right in front of you. The rockfish was flaky, tender, and perfectly cooked with a light, crispy batter. Just so other visitors know, this is a casual counter-service restaurant. You order at the counter, pick up your own food, and bus your table afterward. Basically, no service. The food, however, is outstanding and easily deserves 5 stars. If you're in Seward, this place is a must-visit.

The units are very close to the waterfront and we enjoyed being able to walk there and to the quaint downtown. The only downside, our apt had the worst bathroom imaginable. Likely worse than a Motel 6. The tub was in awful condition, the shower head weak, and the towels smelled odd. I cringed each time I needed to use the bathroom. I also did not like the late..very late self-check-in (could be between 3-5) and early check-out.

Our stay at Resurrection Lodge on the Bay in Seward, Alaska, was wonderful! We stayed at four…read moredifferent places over the course of our trip, and this lodge was the most wonderful! The view of Resurrection Bay, and the peaceful porch with chairs, heat lamps, and blankets was incredible! We saw such beautiful wildlife while sitting on the porch and walking on the beach, including Sea Otters, Harbor Seals, American Crows, Black-billed Magpies, Surf Scoters, Harlequin Ducks, Glaucous-winged Gulls, Bald Eagles (nesting nearby) and other beautiful birds. Our rooms were small, but the lodge does offer larger rooms too (book early); our rooms were beautiful, comfortable, clean, and cozy. The owners and the kitchen staff are warm, friendly, kind, and helpful. Breakfast each morning was lovely! We will definitely stay here again! We highly recommend this lodge!
