They don't deserve 1 star a zero is more appropriate. Our experience seems common to the other reviews. This is the most corrupt and dishonest organization we have ever dealt with. John the owner is the ring-leader of this disaster of a business. Nothing but double talk, spin, and lies from him. We asked 4 times for an estimate in a span of 3 weeks. We did not authorize any work other than the diagnostics and estimate. We received an estimate for $4500 and an email asking for approval to complete the work. It turned out the work was done a week prior to this estimate and replaced parts without approval. All they did was through a part at the problem and it didn't fix anything. John, here is a work flow that might be helpful to your incompetent staff - Trouble shoot/Estimate/Customer approval/complete work/generate invoice. Don't expect that process. We ended up having to pay them and tow the vehicle to another shop because it still was not fixed. Bait and switch, scam and criminal behavior is all that you will get from them. Once they have your vehicle it will be held hostage until the extortion is complete. Run don't walk and find a different company to address your vehicle issues. read more

Had a very bad experience Car broke down on Rt 3 N. Police called Lowell Fleet for a tow. Took my groceries from my car but the police told me they would drop the car at my house and to put them back. The tow car driver refused to drop off my car. Wouldn't let me get my groceries, had to plead with him. He finally agreed. Told the owner he never did that. Called the same day to pay the cost, also had AAA to get the car but they were closed. The owner Insisted they picked me up on 495 in Westford when it actually 3N in Billerica causing a much higher cost. Charged for 2 days storage even though they were closed. They claimed they called the state police to verify the pickup and claimed it was Westford, I called the state police who verified it was 3N. The officer called the owner who now said he knew it was 3N. He accused me of not knowing where I was and I lied. Treated me like a dementia patient. read more

Happened on a Sunday afternoon, we limped over to Lowell Fleet service and John let us park overnight for no charge. Predatory towing practices: I returned to my vehicle before it was towed. The tow company's employee said that the drop fee for the vehicle was $100, and it needed to be paid in cash. They stated that otherwise the vehicle would be towed, and I would be required to pay $150. Currently, the maximum rate for involuntary towing from private property is $108.00. I paid the $100 drop fee. Per M.G.L. Ch. 266 §120D, if the vehicle owner returns before their car is towed, the tower may charge the vehicle owner one half of the fee usually charged for such towing. Therefore, I should have paid no more than $54 for the drop fee. The employee did not give their name when asked. I called the tow company and spoke with the company owner, who confirmed that the company regularly charges $100 for drop fees. read more

Lowell Fleet Towing helped me late at night in the pouring rain, when two other companies were unable to. My car was stuck in the mud in my own backyard. The other companies were afraid of also getting stuck and told me to wait until everything dried. I would have been without a car for a while. Lowell Fleet heroically came to the rescue without any hesitation. They were prompt, professional, and proved confidently to be more than qualified to perform the task at hand. Lowell Fleet Towing towed my car from a stickered resident lot. When called they claimed there was no resident sticker. They also wouldn't take the time to check the car for the resident sticker that was in plain sight. From inside and outside the car - they'd broken into the car to release the parking brake to tow it. Find a different company to help you if you break down, I wouldn't rely on folks who illegally tow a car out of a lot and can't see a resident sticker displayed in the required window. They totaled my car and dented my doors and they never paid a penny for it. I needed to rent a car for a week and had 2 days lost of work.

I accidentally parked in front of someone's driveway after hearing about a family loss, and my car got towed by this company. I gave the police a call and found out where my car was parked. Then, I gave them a call and said I would be there as soon as possible to pick up my car. When I got there by Uber, no one was at the location, so I gave them another call and said it was freezing cold and I could not stay out for very long. They said they could not do anything about it, so I immediately called the police so I could at least stay in the car while I wait for them to show up with my car. After 30 minutes, a supervisor named Armando showed up and told us to go in. He is extremely unprofessional and when I mentioned about a family loss and I needed my car to attend the funeral as soon as he can, he told me to "F$@# Off and he would take his time". After this happened, he walked us out after the police left and told us to walk to the back to get the car and screaming, he almost ran my mother over. Keep in mind this is a very weird area of Lowell and he told us to walk 10 minutes down to the back of the tow company to get the car. Very rude, unprofessional, and while I was there, he mistreated one of his employees as well. In the next couple weeks, I will be hiring a lawyer and possibly sue Lowell Fleet Maintenance, not only for a huge scratch on the side of my car that I am almost positive "Armando" caused, but also the way they left me in the freezing cold for more than an hour. Pray that your car does not get towed by them. If so, you will be mistreated, yelled at, and possibly get a frostbite injury from being in the cold for too long. They should not work for Lowell Police Department. read more

awful and beyond unprofessional service. they made me walk all the way to Target just to get cash because they don't have an ATM. when i got back with the money, there was nobody there, even though it was open hours. I was waiting outside, in the freezing cold, for over 2 hours. during that time, i was calling them to ask them to send someone over to help me, and i kept getting the same answer: "oh, we're sending over a guy now, he shouldn't take too long." i'm not sure why they don't have a receptionist or SOMEONE at their office at all times to help or keep people out of the freezing elements, but it was honestly the worst experience i've had with any business. ever. read more

I was involved with a car accident, my fault. After processing paperwork with the other driver and the Massachusetts State Police - a wrecker was called to tow my car. I have had some dealings with tow companies in the past but was pleasantly surprised by the kindness, speed and professionalism shown by the driver while at the scene. Later, when I went to retrieve my belongings from my car, the office staff and ownership showed genuine interest in my condition and the treatment of my car during the tow process. I explained that I was truly grateful and amazed at the quality of the tow and the kindness of the driver. The organization I work for was trying to use Lowell Fleet to tow a large trailer from one location to another. We asked that they come look at the trailer beforehand (we were in Lowell so it wouldn't have been too difficult), which they didn't do. They didn't show up the day they were supposed to (without a call) and were 2.5 hours late the following day to pick up the cooler. They couldn't end up moving it for us the second day because they brought the wrong size truck (because they didn't come look at it beforehand). This incident is after a saga of subpar work on our box trucks for too much money from them. The organization wanted to use them because they're local but they also are not reliable or professional, they're expensive and do a sub par job and have caused us nothing but frustration and headaches (I don't know why the review says I'm in SF, I'm not) read more

Well think I should preface by saying that these folks towed my car, so they naturally loose a star for that. I was parked in what I had been told was visitor parking for about 45 minutes to walk a dog for a tenant, but apparently not. I called the towing company and had to wait for the driver to call me back. The driver called me back and told me it would cost $125 to get my car, andI should call back with an eta since the office was closed and a driver would have to meet me. When I called the number the driver had instructed with eta, the person who picked up the phone had no idea what we were talking about and couldn't give us an address, so we had to call the driver back. Arrived about 1.25 hours later via Uber to pick up my car and was told it was $144. I expressed my concern that on the phone, the driver told me it would be $125. He then told me I was given the wrong information. It was frustrating that no one seems to know what's going on at this company. Shady company. Towed my car after being parked for 15 minutes (in a 15 minute visitor parking). Customer service was one of the worst ive ever experienced. Put me on an endless hold when I tried to call, then when i showed up the place was locked. I knocked on the door to no avail, and only got inside when one of the drivers showed up. When we stepped inside the owner was sitting at his desk literally 5 feet from the door. Charged me for the whole day of storage even though my car was there for less than an hour before i picked it up. While she was waiting for AAA (and on the phone with the dispatcher who was telling her the driver was looking for her), she saw a Lowell Fleet tow truck pull into a nearby parking lot. They towed my car from my apartment complex around 4-6 AM, I had work the next day at 7AM, while going to apartment lot I couldnt find my car. This place is horrible. Got my car towed for parking in a spot with no sticker. I completely understood it was my fault however when I get to the Office an employee is in the corner yelling "fuck you,I don't care about the child support" I mean this guy was constantly yelling fuck this and fuck that I looked at the lady and asked if they guy works here. She said nothing so I told her that guy is extremely unprofessional and rude. Again she says nothing. I didn't cause any issues just paid the ticket since I agreed I was at fault. So I start walking to the back yard where the store the cars and wow was I irritated. The back yard is HORRIBLE massive potholes FILLED with water. I mean there are potholes so bad driving out of the yard the my cars undercarriage got banged up twice. Of course I can see the potholes because it was raining. Anyways, I walked over to my car after stepping in quite a few potholes up to my ANKLES. Finally make my way to the car and the car is in Nuetral, mirrors were readjusted and all. Getting out of the yard was so bad with the potholes everywhere I couldn't believe it. Now these guys work with the Police department which of course the Lowell Police Department is the most hated police department of Mass so there's nothing you can do PERIOD. I guess if smash your car frame off a pot hole back there you could sue but of course you'd have to have proof and don't expect the police department to help get cam footage because again the police use Lowell Fleet for their tows. All I can say is this place is a joke! Get ready to have a miserable day and not because you have to put $162 out of your ass but because you have to keep your fingers crossed that they don't break your car in the process. read more
