Arrogant, patronising and smug are a few words to describe the owner of Low Fell Cycles, Keith. Having purchased a second hand bike from his shop a couple of years ago, I have had nothing but trouble with it since. All my fault of course, according to Keith (not looking after it properly etc). The estimate for the repair process is a joke, as the final repair bill is always higher. Why he bothers to take your phone number is beyond me, as you will be the one doing all the chasing up. His favourite trick is to discover many other things wrong with the bike, after he has already started the original repairs having 'agreed' a price. My advice if you must go is a) dont tell him you know nothing about bikes, b) dont tell him you need it back asap for daily commuting, c) do take it for a spin round the block to check its repaired ok. My last experience of Keith was him keeping hold of my bike for a couple of days before deciding he couldnt fix it after all. The man is a total rip off merchant, and will not be getting another pound from me. I would rather go to Recykeybike in Byker, or even Halfords (Keith has a notice up in his shop slagging them off). A week later I took the bike to Recykeybike in Byker. One of the lads asked "what animal did these repairs?", a reference to Keiths botched attempt at a repair in which he claimed he was on for about 5 hours to get a pedal off, which he later gave up on, but not before perhaps considering cutting it off with a hacksaw! Needless to say, the lad in Byker whipped it off in less than a minute, no hacksaw required. My own theory is that Keith claimed it was beyond repair so that I would fork out for yet another bike from his disgusting shop. Totally think the owner is the thickest, smug fool I have ever met how on earth he is still in business beggers belief, anyway its good sport to go in his shop and wind him up, dont give him any business,because you can get cheaper and better service no prob, honestly the Basil Fawlty of bike shops,god help his poor( one) man working for him, only went in to ask a bit of advice, how to set a gear mec got quoted £70 got the info of you tube for £00 and 10 minutes of my time, and this idiot of an owner who is renting his shop, that you cant swing a cat in, and is a horrible rip off merchant, ie my sons bike a ridgeback was £80 cheaper at start bikes in newcastle( one of a few good shops, I am not selling this place), apparently a retailer who rents a million pound shop in the heart of the city ,sells bikes cheaper is a worse place than his, ha ha, tell you what heres my bet, if you must go in, but and heres the kicker, just remember what ive said, and form your own opinion of a guy who in my opinion has major issues , enjoy read more

its ok but doesnt have a great range of bikes in meaning models and makes and pricy for starters need a bigger shop and better range of bike models and makes and be reasonably priced read more
