BEWARE OF STAR ...... I was in a local ER and transferred to…read morean ER attached to a hospital. The ER docs said I had NO CHOICE but to go by Ambulance. The ER called Star EMS for the Transport. Now, after insurance paid Star EMS, I get a bill from them for a balance due. I met all deductibles and out of pocket expenses after a major surgery in February. In discussing with BCBS, they stated that STAR Ambulance is "Out of Network" for BCBS. How can an Ambulance Service not have a contract with BCBS in Michigan, when BCBS is the largest insurer in Michigan. This is purely a MONEY GRAB by STAR EMS, as they know that with no contract, they can bill the patient for the difference. I would not have thought that you would have to ask the ER to call an ambulance that accepts BCBS. But I will in the future. I will also ask that they NOT CALL STAR EMS for transport in the future

What sets them apart isn't just the vehicles or logistics--it's the people they've hired. I've spent over 40+ years as a Corporate Executive Chef in hospitality, and I've learned one truth: if you want a company to succeed, invest in your team. I hope KMN clearly understands this. I've been riding with them for six months, and two drivers--Fadhil and Rand--are the gold standard. They treat every pickup and drop-off like it's their own business. With them, I feel like I have a personal chauffeur, not just a driver from a Non-Emergency Transportation Company. Owners and bosses may set the vision, but it's the frontline team that defines the guest experience. Fadhil and Rand embody Excellence , and KMN's road to success will be in the proof that when you hire right and nurture talent, your company doesn't just thrive--it leads. KMN isn't just the best in Michigan... with this kind of team, they could be the best in the country. I also want to make a call out to another great new driver Jasmine who was in training and did a outstanding job. KMN please make sure you are investing in your team. Thank You and God Bless

The staff has always been friendly beyond measure, thorough with their care, and have addressed my concerns with ease. They have been able to get me in on short notice when needed, and they've also been able to get my husband and I in for appointments together so that we don't have to make multiple trips (which is nice, given that we live in downtown Detroit, so it's a bit of a hike.) As a family practitioner, Dr. Baker has been able to catch and address many significant medical issues for both my husband and I-some of which we had not realized were even happening (hello, new onset cardiac arrhythmia...I do NOT like to see you on my EKG! Go. Away.) I hope that whoever McLaren has hired to replace Dr. Baker after the end of November 2023 is as amazing as she is, because the staff there deserves to work with a practitioner who is as good as they are...and I hope that wherever Dr. Baker is going knows just how much of a unicorn they've got, because she truly is the best!
