Incompetence at its finest. Lovett Dentistry allowed me to book an appointment and drive 100 miles each way with a child in dental distress, only to refuse service because of her age. A simple 'we don't see patients under 13' during the initial endodontics call would have saved us 4 hours on the road and a day of unnecessary suffering for my daughter. If they can't manage a basic intake calendar, I certainly wouldn't trust them with a medical procedure. Absolutely do not go. They pull the bait and switch. We were quoted a price over the phone, confirmed pricing day before appointment. We went for the appointment and before I could even fill out paperwork, we were told it would be a minimum of $400 more. They did not evaluate or even look at our daughter's teeth. After I got home and called corporate, we were told the call center quoted us the Feb price without telling us it was a limited time. However, I called the call center and was still quoted the original price. It is not a limited time offer, it is the constant cash price. They are very dishonest and unethical. read more

I came to this business now over 2 months ago. The initial appointment did all of the usual exam, and that was it. I was told they would get back to me within 2 weeks. After that period expired, I contacted them, but was told that there had been an error. They said that the contact with my insurance had not been made, and it would now be done immediately. Later, I attempted to call them again. They repeatedly wouldn't answer the phone. I finally was able to talk to a company representative who also couldn't get an answer. I had to cancel because of an emergency. When I callled to reschedule, they told me they couldn't do what I needed so I went elsewhere. 3 days later, they called ME asking if I wanted to reschedule. I explained that I tried to reschedule days prior and they told me they couldn't service me, and then they said well just come in and pay my copay and they'd see what they could do. HUH?! I had been going to Lovett Dental for about 3 years. However, the last time I went , the service was bad. The dentist wanted to put me on a treatment plan to say my teeth needed deep cleaning. I felt they were just lying to increase their revenue. I get my teeth clean every 6 months and floss everyday. This company has very low integrity when it comes to billing. They will not only over charge you because they are not thorough when it comes to ensuring the proper fee structures with your insurance, they will send you a bill for additional payment. I have spent more than 4 hours on the phone with them and my insurance company to try to sort out a bill I received. I understand everyone must make a buck, but this company will conveniently over bill and perform procedures that are not covered by insurance only to find out later that you will incur additional charges once you receive a bill in the mail. If possible do not use this business. While the staff are friendly and trying to manage what they can, the pure frustration that you are likely to go through during this process is simply not worth it. After being in braces here for 10 months (give or take) I am beyond ready to pay the fees associated with breaking my current contract with Lovett Dental and finding a more competent provider. Any orthodontist matters have to be done only on Mondays during their business hours and for any type of concerns at all outside of this time you are simply out of luck. I have had two surgeries scheduled. The first was cancelled less than 48 hours ahead of the time of the scheduled procedure. The second I was told was a surgery and was actually a consultation. I was told a different time for the second one the day before and could not receive confirmation until the day of about the official time. The amount of planning that goes into the before and after of these procedures on the patient's side is simply too much for a person to be told things last minute or the day of. It is incredibly inconvenient and inconsiderate and a direct result of poor office management. There seems to be ongoing confusion regarding appointments and miscommunication between those who are in office regarding what is actually suppose to be going on. Overall, if you have a job, school, or anything that requires you to request time off or efficient time management, Lovett Dental is not the place for you. read more

Worst Experience Ever!!! This Dentist did not care about me or my health! He hurt me! They pulled an abscessed tooth! Should have put me on antibiotics then scheduled the procedure but decided to pull it. He broke the tooth in my mouth and left shards of tooth which should have been removed. Horrible! read more

I had 3 different visits at the Lovett Dental on Dowlen Road in Beaumont (though not by choice but due to no other local options with my dental insurance). My first visit my appointment was at 1pm for a cleaning. I wasn't seen until 3pm. The ladies at the front desk weren't the friendliest, nor did the main receptionist ever smile all 3 visits. When I was finally seen the Dr/Dentist [didn't know his title] he came in and barely introduced himself as well as some random lady who couldn't be bothered to introduce herself. She sat down behind me and the Dentist quickly began talking dental terminology that no one but a person in that field would be able to understand. I made the appointment to get my teeth cleaned. What they don't tell you is that you'll probably be coming back for another visit ( = more money) because you'll only get x-rays at best unless you want to stay longer. I only took x-rays, etc that day and was asked if I wanted to stay longer to get my teeth cleaned. Since I had been there since 1pm and it was going on 4pm there was no way I wanted to stay any longer, so I made another appointment which I would have to pay again for another visit. My second visit, I learned that if I left a positive review on the website I could get $20 off my visit. Unfortunately I didn't have anything positive to say after the first time to be paid for a positive review (which is kind of sad if that is what a business has to do to get good reviews. I would question any of those as being sincere). There was hardly anywhere to sit. Kids were lined up and sitting on the floor everywhere, some adults were either standing up or going outside to sit in their vehicles because there was hardly any seating to comfortably sit inside. I finally received the cleaning I came for the first time. Marilyn the dental hygienist was the only good thing about this dentist office that I can honestly say. She was very sweet, helpful, and professional. My last visit was luckily short and sweet. It took everything I had to go back for the last time after the first 2 visits. I was again seen by Marilyn as my last checkup for the cleaning and was only there for about 30 mins. Overall, I will never go back to this dental office. Ever. Nor would I recommend it. Most the staff (who see's adults) look like they can't be bothered to be helpful or friendly and wait times are mostly ridiculous due to what would seem like over-booking on their part. read more

DO NOT USE THEM. They will tell you a service is covered then it's suddenly not after you leave...having you owe hundreds. Even after "verifying" it over the phone prior. There will be an "oops!" Also, they refuse to give you your own medical records if you owe money so you can go elsewhere. Money is more important than your health there. Then, they'll discuss it all with you in an open lobby despite HIPAA and not bring you into the empty office. Seriously...zero stars! From the lack of personality with staff to being charged $84 for something 100% covered by my insurance. I had to sign an agreement to pay the $84 even though I told them my insurance had already confirmed with them that I'd owe nothing. The dentist stood there with my crown in his hand as the billing clerk told me my crown would not be put back on until I signed agreeing to pay. I was in terrible pain. I signed and paid. A week later when my insurance company contacted them they agreed they owed me and should not have charged me BUT it would take up to 6 weeks to get credited back to my debit card. About 2 years ago, I had an horrible experience here at Lovett Dental. I decided to come back and give them another try. And I must say, they're are A LOT better! The staff was super nice and offered me deals that I didn't even know about to help with payment. Nikki explained to me what needed to get done and Dr. Thompson was very informative and made sure he answered all my questions that I had. Had a root canal done at the Beamount office in March 2017 right before I moved to Houston. The office told me they would call me when my crown comes in and set an appointment to get it put on. Months passed and I made multiple calls to the Beaumont office and they kept telling me my crown hasn't come in yet. Coupe months later they end up telling me they "lost" my crown and need to redo the crown fitting. Well by this time my temporary cap had fallen off and the mold around my tooth chipped enough to where they said they needed to take off the mold and redo everything. Because it had been so long I had an infection start up in the tooth I had the root canal done on they needed to "retreat" the whole thing. The original cost for my root canal was about $400-$500 and they brought me the bill for the retreat and it was $1600.... Never have I had to deal with customer service this bad. Do yourself a favor and find the next dentist on the list that accepts your insurance. If I could do less than 1 star I would. read more

Within the last 3 months, this office has blown customer service out of the water. Everyone is so attentive, and caring. From the moment you walk in the door, the whole process was amazing. For a dental office, this is the place to go. If at all possible I would choose another dental office. My insurance does not have any others to choose from so this is where we went. Called back for tooth pulling at 1715 when my appointment was at 1500 and I showed up early yet emoyees have been steadily leaving to go home since we arrived. This is quite possibly the filthiest dentist office that I have seen. Even though the General and Ortho are in the same office, they do not communicate or coordinate between the two. The receptionist will quickly tell you that she doesn't know instead of let me go check. It seem like a cash cattle herding with overbooking. Horrible experience ever!*this is my first Yelp review...I just have to! This place is a scam! They tricked you in with discounted cleaning and exams, then they claim you need deep cleaning! I tried several dentals already and have no gum diseases at all! The doctor just said my gum is fine, then a woman called Nikki tried to talk me into a deep cleaning, that need two times visit, which I don't have to! I declined the additional service and asked for just the regular cleaning on the coupon. They said they couldn't do a regular cleaning unless I do the deep cleaning service. I wasted almost two hours and only got a 50 dollars exam! They just use coupon to get people in to spend more money! Never never go here! The dentist dr. Chang ( i think that was in name) was very pleasant and his assistant nia. I will only use them,however the Fom and the front desk not so much. I had emergency pulling in july went well. However, i wanted to follow up in august to pull 2 more teeth. They never had my information or insurance. Never return my calls so i had to go on my lunch and make an appt. Desk agent was rude doesnt greet the customer. Finally was able to be seen the end of august and no one told me they never did a full exam. So i could get my teeth pulled but i would nees to pay upfront. Okay no big deal so they come back with a quote 550 dollars. They are trying to take 4 teeth instead of the 2 i want out. I would like to keep my teeth and not look crazy. I only need the 2 broken out. The front office manager who i dont care for comes in aggressively after i said i only want two pulled "listen im trying to help you" it took everything for me not to respond in a rude manner. I said i would come back the next day but didnt but i was still irritated. But no one even called to see why i never showed up. They need a new manager and receptionist. Im a manager myself and i would never be rude to someone paying period. Im searching for a new dentist even though i love the dentist i have and nia the assistant. By far the worst experience ever!! I got on Yelp for the first time just to leave this review. There is probably a bunch of good reviews because they bribe their customers with a free whitening. The doctor pretty much rushed through my exam and the hygienist looked to be distracted the whole time. Even after my exam I probably would have even returned for the follow up. Until they had me sit in the waiting room to go over my dental plan. 30 minutes later of waiting, they told me to go home and that they would call me. I had to leave work to go to this appointment so the extra half hour of pointless sitting was irritating. 3 weeks later I still did not hear anything from these people to go over my dental plan so I call them. They told me they would email me my dental plan and now its 2 months later and I still haven't received anything. In the end, they used up my annual check up covered by my insurance and I'm willing to pay for a different check up somewhere else just so I don't have to see them again. I made it clear that I was in pain from a cavity and they did NOTHING!!! I never write reviews, even if the service sucks, but this place was just so terrible to deal with that I'm still upset. read more

I had bad experience at this location and was hesitant to request an appointment. However, the service that I received today was professional and changed my mind. From the moment that I called, Tiffany got me in right away. Also upon hearing about my previous experience, she apologized for it. On my arrival, I was greeted immediately and within a few minutes had X-rays and was ushered back into a cubicle. I was seen by Dr. Hamdan who introduced himself and then put me at ease. I go to Dr. Andress for orthodontics. I've been going to see Dr. Andress, Anita and Jeanie for five years. I'm no spring chicken and according to my bone density test, I have bones of steel. They have been patient with the slow movement and even found ways to move my teeth faster. Doc is the absolute best at orthodontics. Talks me through everything. Anita runs the ortho office and knows when I need to come in and what times I need because I work. Jeanie is knowledgeable and smart smart smart when it come to her job. She compliments Doc to a tee. These people have treated me with respect and more like family. I love going in to see them. You want the best? Go see Doc and these two georgeous wonderful women. You wont be sorry. read more

I would not recommend this office to anyone. I have lived all across this country and been to many dentists and this place was atrocious! Upon moving to the area my insurance only included Lovett in my network so I made an appointment for a cleaning to get to know the place. It was a month before I could get in for a simple cleaning. Then when I went in the dentist performed a basic exam and then told me to make a second appointment that he would only look me over and wouldn't do any cleaning that visit. Now skipping ahead to my third appointment; (after several problems including a clerical error resulting in a late night phone call saying I owed more money, a replaced filling that did not need replacing and an unexpected visit due to the dentist not grinding down the filling material, and many more small problems; I had decided to find another dentist. But I decided to go through and get the cleaning done anyway since I had fought so hard to get it) I expected the cleaning to go smoothly. While in the chair the dentist informed me to let him know if I experienced any pain. I was used to the pressure, mild scraping, sensitivity to the cold water, and other discomforts associated with cleanings so I thought this is what he was referring to, I was wrong. The dentist took a drill (the kind used for making hole in teeth for fillings, not the kind to buffer stains away) and shoved it into my gums to scrape around the teeth. I had never experienced such pain, the smell of ground-down tooth filled the air as the dentist scrapped away my enamel, I bleed more than I ever had, and on top of that I had to hold my own suction tube because the dental hygienist had wondered off. Afterwards, my teeth were still not entirely clean but all I wanted to do was leave. I could not eat or drink for 24 hours after the cleaning and now 2 1/2 weeks later I still feel a consistent sharp pain in my teeth. On my way out I owed $5, I handed the receptionist a $10 and then waited while she went to each staff member trying to borrow enough money to make change which she handed to me and expected me to leave without a receipt. This dentist has ruined my teeth. The staff was rude, wait times are insane, and I would advise anyone else to stay far away. read more

RUN AWAY FAST! I had a root canal done there last week. The dentist was horrible. He didn't numb me completely. When I winced in pain he chuckled, looked at me and said "I guess you didn't like that very much, did you?" He kept going. I started crying in pain. He again laughed at me and said "Oh, does this really hurt that bad?" And he kept going. He didn't give me another local until he finished drilling through the pulp. It was pure hell. When he finished he wrote me a script for a pain medication I was allergic to. When I confronted him he told me to take Tylenol and sent me home without any pain meds at all. I was in complete agony for two whole days. All I could do was sit on the floor in a cold sweat and shake. I couldn't eat. I couldn't drink. I couldn't take care of my three year old watching me in horror. I lost six pounds and got so dehydrated I stopped peeing. Not to mention he wants me to come back for a procedure that will make my gums receed. He refused to cap my root canal until I have this done and my gums receed. He said my roots would be exposed and I would develope extreme sensitivity to temperature and spice. He said my teeth could come loose. Why the hell would I consent to that? These people are sorry pieces of shit. They are sadistic and greedy. They get off on your pain and suffering, and they maximize it. And they try to pressure you into unnecessary and potentially harmful procedures. BE AFRAID of these people. Be VERY AFRAID. Your fear will be justified. So, make your own choices. As for me, I am taking my records and running away from there as fast as my feet will carry me. And, oh, btw... I posted this review on their Facebook page with a one star rating. They hid it.
