This Loves is pretty big but definitely fills up fast at night. The people inside were so nice and seem like everyone wants to fill up here. If you can't find parking and make your own no one will come wake you up. There was definitely a 1 hour wait for the showers so I didn't get to experience that. Well, they have banana pudding in the refrigerated case, so that's a good sign. Love's provides a perfectly cromulent banana pudding cup, if you're in the mood for a smushy dessert. They also have lots of other foods that are somewhat healthy, like fresh fruit, meat-and-cheese plates, yogurt parfaits, hard-boiled eggs. This convenience store also has a Naf Naf Grill attached. (What a pleasant surprise!) There's also a Chester's restaurant (chicken) and Godfather's Pizza Express. The restrooms were very clean, and while I was in the restroom, I heard over the loudspeaker that guest number 7's shower was ready, so apparently they have showers here. read more

Love's seems to be a bit hit and miss lately with some being really great and a few being not so great. The one I visited last week in Jonesboro Arkansas earned a rare one-star review. This one in Greenup Illinois is not so great. The coolers of drinks were great and the roller grill was fully stocked. The cold snacks display in the center was reasonably well stocked at 2pm. The rest room, quite bad. Litter and trash on the floor with a "watch your step" marker. Fuel pump area also had some trash on the ground. This Love's was a disappointment. This Love's location was easy to get into with our 44 foot camper and on the inside it was clean and employees were friendly. The dog park was nice for our dog to get a little break from being cooped up in the car as well! read more

Paid $36 for my fiancé and I to shower as we're driving cross country and Shower 4 is absolutely disgusting, there's mold on the ceiling, stains on the tiles and damaged equipment everywhere. My fiancé says shower 1 is just as bad. By far the worst Love's we've been too. read more

We stopped in here for a pitstop and fill-up. The facility, including the restrooms, was clean and well-maintained. The store had the usual variety of food/snacks/sundries one expects to find at this franchise; we enjoyed a large diet-soda. The gas pump worked effectively, and staff were friendly. All and all, this location met our needs; and allowed us to smoothly continue with our travels. read more

What a coincidence, because every guy I know "Love's" me. I meant girl. OK well both then. I stopped here at this busy little Love's in the middle of rural Illinois on my last trip across the state of Illinois. It's across the street from Casey's where I stopped on a different occasion when I was about to run out of gas (heading in the other direction actually). Love the Naf Naf food tastes wonderful! But the explosive smelly gas I got from It wasn't wondeful! 3 days after i ate it for lunch and I still am farting up a storm! I dont know what ingredients or what portion of the plate caused this explosion. I got both steak and chicken plate! The rest of my plate i couldn't finish due to the instant explosive gas, my dog ate my left overs for dinner that night and now she too has explosive diarrhea! Were both nafed up! This was probably our best stopped on our road trip. Compared to the other roadside gems we chose, this was miles ahead (no pun intended). First and foremost, this was a huge location. With it being a huge location it had lots to offer. Think of this as a truck stop more so than a regular roadside gas station. With the huge size you would think that this place would be hard to keep clean, but no, it was spotless in here. Lots of things to pick from in here. And on top of that, the variety on items is amazing. I wanted just a bottled water and had just about every option available to me. Workers were nice and efficient. Making chit chat while you joke about the items you bought. I will definitely be on the lookout when it comes to a much needed stop on a future road trip. read more

The consistency from store to store is much appreciated.The store is large with all the typical truck stop items from sovereigns, clothing, shoes, toys, beverages, hot and cold snack food and candy.. A few grocery items and car products can be found as well. This location has a large grill area with hot dogs and brats. The fountain drinks and coffee is conventionally located in the same area for quick in and out. The staff was professional and keep the line moving as quickly as possible. If you're hungry and prefer a sit down meal then IHOP Express is attached to Love's at this location. The truck parking is located in the back helping with the congestion. The car parking lot is large and easy to get back onto I-70. read more

We stopped in Loves in Greenup, IL during a pretty bad storm. We have a motorhome and we're pulling two horses and they needed a break. Our wiper blade on the motorhome was starting to come apart so we stopped in the shop and asked for help and Frank said no problem. While traveling across the states, a female cashier name unknown- all I remember is that the cashier was pregnant at the time. She got really upset when I let her know that I was purchasing a hot cocoa. Not sure what she was murmuring, but it sounded like it was towards me in a negative matter. Customer service was horrible, you want to see smiling faces when you are traveling the roads. Love's itself had much to offer. The usual junk food, also hot/cold food items and many hot beverages. Manager Danita (who would not give her last name) is very nasty. She called the police when I explained I could not find a parking spot after getting fuel and was out of hours. She threatened to have me towed and waited with a satisfied look on her face waiting for the police to arrive. Way to go, Loves! You hired a real winner here! read more

They were out of just about EVERYTHING and the cashier was so mechanical, she sounded like the lady from Monsters Inc. After the fifth time the pump asked me to insert my card, I gave up and drove to another pump. That pump wouldn't even let me insert my card, so I gave up and went across the street to another gas station. read more

When I'm on the road Loves, Pilot, and Flyng J are my go to travel centers. I can allways find one conveniently located just off the freeway. Not only a good place to fill the tank but they always have a pot of coffee on. Not a bad place for a quick cat nap before hitting the road. On this stop I guess the staff read my mind and pointed me to restroom with out me asking. I found the restroom clean well stocked with soap and paper towels. My big problem was the the price of milk was more than I was willing to pay. For that reason I waited till I got to Wal-Mart to get some milk and other Travel essentials. I wonder if they realize that there are stubborn travelers like me that will refuse to buy over inflated items at their store and buy it down the road at a more reasonable price? Actually this wasn't entirely bad as it gave me an opportunity to stretch my legs at Walmart. I'll probably be back for gas and maybe coffee when I return to San Diego. read more

My husband Jose Saldana stopped to put 700 dollars of fuel after driving 20 hours he was tired and hungry -- so he went in to the store with his coffee cup and all the coffee machines were not working so he see an employee and ask if she can reset the coffee she looks at him and tells him she's on her break and for him to find some other employees... I thought that was rude she should have answered let me call someone to help you ... my husband got upset and answered "that's not what I want to hear.. she got so angry and started a tirade and she got angry cause he told her to be quiet and to calm down... after spending all that money at the fuel island the least employees should be courteous and respectful.., when my husband told her to shut up a fellow driver came up to her defense and without knowing what was going on started cussing at my husband and then the manager came in and told him to leave without asking my husband what was wrong... I always thought that the truck was a safe haven for the tired drivers ... you advertise how friendly you are and for the most part you are but some employees need to be trained to learn how to talk to people... read more

Best gas station I've ever visited. My two year old was excited to see the stuffed animals. I was excited to see the sliced fresh fruit and yogurts to share with my family. The restroom was also nice and clean. I appreciated a place for the diaper bag and the trash can being nearby. An employee also greeted us on the way in. That made us feel comfortable while in the middle of a very long drive with little ones. read more
