I've seen this buisness grow every year. The last time I was in they had awsome massage chairs, they were such a treat as I was having a pedicure. It's a hard working family business. If I could give them a no star I would. This place is horrible, dirty and they are extremely disrespectful.. I have a tattoo on my ankle that says "stay true", Peter read it and his response was, "Be careful what you ask for because you women can't handle the truth that is why us men lie." I was shocked, but shrugged it off. He didn't stop there... He proceeded to say, "You women can't handle the truth. When us men do tell you the truth, do you know what happens? You women cry then kill yourself." Now I was extremely shocked. He was so unprofessional the whole experience. I am a local, booked my appointment at 5:30 for a FILL and arrived a few minutes early. I was seated at 5:50, they took two other walk in requests before me... their scheduled appointment. -strike 1 I am seated with a gentlemen closest to the door. I explain I want coffin shape and tell him my color. He sits down and starts to work, speaking with the woman sitting next to me about family matters I happily keep to myself until asked if I am close with my parents. I explain they were not good people and are now gone. He proceeds to lecture me (nails now in awful shape) about how I need to forgive them, if I want my inheritance it would be bad if I spoke badly of them, yadda yadda.... I let him know, again, they were not good people and to stop. -Strike 2 Now on to shaping my nails he asks again what shape I would like. I respond the same as I did in the beginning... COFFIN. So rather than focus on my parents, he now proceeds to complain the ENTIRE rest of my FILL about how inconvenient COFFIN shape is and how he hates it, that he's gonna charge me extra. He shapes them and cuts my fingers up to bits in the process (8/10 cut fingers sliced and diced like tomatoes right next to my nail beds). -Strike 3 Then to wrap things up, at the end I point out my polish is uneven, even missing in some spots... and that the textures on the top of the nails needs fixing (some smooth others rough like sand paper)... and I am told "It's going to be what it's going to be. I'm done" TWO HOURS FOR THIS FILL LADIES AND WAS CHARGED $50!!!!! I AM LIVID, after a week my fingertips are scabbed and my nails still look like I let my 6 year old at them. Getting my nails done is the only thing I regularly do as a single mother to take a time out. To be lectured and provided this service is UNREAL! I felt compelled to write this review, if I can save someone else an experience with this its more than worth the time it took to set up the account and write the review. Just as everyone else says, Peter's attitude is downright shitty. He is always complaining about SOMETHING (the color you chose, the shape you prefer, the design you want). On top of that, he is rude to his employees and his wife (who also works there). He called my friend an angry white woman when she was actually being really nice. We were LOYAL customers despite the total lack of professionalism. Pedicures are always rushed and it's honestly a rip off to get anything other than the CHEAPEST pedicure. I made an appointment as a first time customer. I wasn't even helped until 30 minutes after my original appointment time. It took me 4 hours to get a mani and pedi. It wasn't even a good job. My nails are uneven, color is completely off, my shape is weird and doesn't match up. I didn't even like the way they did it but I was not going to waste more of my time to get it done. I wanted to leave. Felt stuck there. They were so focused on old customers that they weren't putting any effort into new customers at all. I had people come in hours after me and was done before I even got to start my mani. They had me bounce around to many different seats and different people to get my mani and pedi done. They definitely over book than what they can handle. They always had 6 people waiting for something to get done. They don't at any clean anything or cautious of covid protocols. 5 workers And they all had a custome with 4 people near the door and 3 other people sitting in seats waiting. No one was 6 feet away and nothing was sanitized down. To have acrylic nails removed it would take 2 hours. They are very friendly and talked to you the whole time. Which made it enjoyable. I will not be returning to get my nails done ever again. I am not sure how people keep coming back to this salon. It honestly not worth it. Here are the nails I asked for, and the nails I got look bulky, mis colored, and way too thick. I will be taking these off because they are hideous. The staff are incredibly pushy and rude. Peter, the manager was saying how all white people are "lazy and complain about working all the time". He was very unprofessional and not funny at all. Made an appointment for five, two pedis and one fill in. Didn't actually get seen until six, and then they were so rude and sarcastic and opinionated. Lovely Nails is a decent option for complete nail care services, pedicures, waxing and skincare. They are located in the same strip mall as Pizza Hut. During a recent visit to Oroville, I came here for a pedicure and it really surprised me how good of a job they did! Lucy did a thorough job of cuticle grooming, gave a great massage and applied the polish precisely without getting it on my skin! Nancy does excellent nails both natural and acrylic/gel. In addition to the classic pink & white, they do just about any color of acrylic you could imagine and can add glitter if you wish. They offer an extensive nail design collection which can be added to any mani/pedi! They are one of a few select salons that offer the OPI Axxium gel nail color system which is their version of Shellac. It is gel polish that is set with a UV light and lasts about 2 weeks. I love this system since regular nail polish only lasts me a couple days! They charge $30 for an Axxium manicure. All instruments are autoclaved between each client and everyone gets new files, buffers and other disposable implements. The salon was clean overall, the floors were vacuumed, tables free of clippings & dust and the spa chairs scrubbed with hospital grade disinfectant between each client. They offer a menu of their services and a few different types of pedicures from express to deluxe. The deluxe includes paraffin wax dip, scrub, clay foot mask and a longer massage. Appointments are recommended, especially if you want a certain technician and to avoid waiting, however they do accept walk-ins. Their prices are fair for the quality of their services. Where to begin. So my daughter and her best friend went out of all the nail shops in town and chose to get their nails done. Horrible job. Looked nothing like what they asked for and nothing a regular person would consider a 50$ dollar job. Came home was very upset with the outcome. The next day I had to go back with her to talk to the owner. Was attempting to talk in a civil way and just wanted to work something out. Either fix them if possible or money returned. Multiple people started talking loudly at me saying that my daughter left with no complaints. Yes this is true she asked for natural was told they don't do natural or thin looking nails. She left w her friend not really speaking up for herself after that. Once she was home I couldn't just let it be. Not for 50$ that did not add up. Took her back and did in the end receive my money. I stayed calm didn't think it would do any good to act crazy even tho it was annoying. The lady did try to calm the situation down after her co-worker or /owner who knows the guy started talking loud and defensive. In the end she offered our money back and I took my business else where. Never going back. Go to Meriam Nails they saved our day. Fixed my daughters nails &were so friendly! read more

The owner addressed all the clients yelling that if anyone was racist we could just leave because they were going to speak their language in their place of business. I never heard a racist comment but the owner certainly scared everyone because when he stood up he slammed his hands into the table. I requested gel polish and did not receive it. I also requested a pink ribbon instead of a flower and the lady doing my nails told me I did my design her way or no way. My nails on one hand we're cut way too short compared to the other hand. This is probably the worse nail salon I ever went to. Yesterday 8-18-17 my bestie and I decided to go do our nails in Oroville. We chose upon Lovely Nails. First off, I told her to call and set an appt, and the owner (man) said they are busy right now and the next time would be in 30 mins, 6:15pm. So she told the man, (owner) on the phone that she would call him back since my bestie needed to ask me if 6:15 would work. So I told her yes. Then, she called them back, but they did not pick up her call. And then, she called me saying that they didn't pick up, so I gave them a call and said I wanted 2 gel manicure, so the owner(man) say, ok 30 mins, 6:15, what's your name? And I replied Linda. Once we got there, we did not get to sit together even though it was a bestie hangout manicure. On and on, we chose our colors and sat different from each other. I got a young-ish girl. We started at 6:20, and then she filed, and cut my cuticle. Then she LEFT ME to go wax another customer's eyebrows for 20 mins!!!!!!!! And I just sat and waited while my bestie who got the owner started hers already. And 6:40, the girl came back and started with the nails. Btw, you do not start working on a customer and go to a different customer. That's not how it works. Worse experience ever. Plus in the end, she only did one of my nail (thumb) one layer and I told her she didn't go a 2nd layer, and her response was, " I know, you don't need to tell me. " Like wtf!!!!! Ok damn you were gonna put the finished clear coat on it until I told you. Damn! All and all, never going to this place ever again when spending time in Oroville. Very disappointing experience. I made an appointment because they are an extremely busy salon. However I waited an hour despite having an appointment. I wanted just a fill. The owner suggested I get a new set. An extra $15 to soak off the old. Then $35 for the nails. Kinda speedy for the soak if you ask me. My nails looked horrible after he finished. I wanted them rounded and natural as I always do. They were thick and square and so unnatural. There was glue all around my cuticles. The worst nail job ever. I could have done a better job myself. Lovely nails is the best option, while I don't prefer them for my nails I regularly go for my pedicures and always leave satisfied. They also serve complimentary beer/wine with luxury services. Disgusting customer service by the owner. He yells at customers and his wife in front everyone in the salon. I've seen it a couple of times now, but now he comes at me over just wanting to shorten my nails. His wife kindly took the length down for me. I don't know what she said to him while she was Looking at my nails but he went nuts! Yelled at me that his wife is unstable. First off, I don't ever EVER do this. But I Came to get my nails done (first time since like October)for my birthday tomorrow since I can't go out and do anything. The guy was in such a hurry to do my gel he did a super crappy job, so I asked a different guy who was doing my toes to fix my nails. They were just gel but looked ratchet. I just wanted the gel taken off. He said, "how about I get you a drink instead? " this was the owner by the way. I tried explaining to him I can't drink because of my condition. He said na cmon you need a drink!! Slowly getting frustrated now I ask please, just take off my nails he said no I can't sorry. Now I'm pissed but I'm trying to be polite so I'm starting to get upset. He begs me to let him finish my pedicure and I said fine just give me a nail file so I can get all this gel off the skin from around my fingers. As they are about done with my pedicure, she reaches to grab my shoes and her sleeve smudged like 3 of my toes LMFAO. Instead of legit fixing them, she just paints over the mistake and yes I did politely ask for her to wipe them off and do it properly. I've been back to Lovely Nails a few times. Each time I am very happy with the job they do on my feet. They do a lower leg massage even wih the basic $20 pedicure package. The atmosphere is upbeat, which I enjoy. They can do pretty much any nail art by hand. The customer service has always been good. They do get pretty busy on weekends. The place is always full when I'm in there. So if you decide to walk-in I'd do it on a week day. Knowing a little more about sanitation now...I have noticed that they don't change out filters as often as other places do. It seems that they do a quick clean down of the foot spa. Last time I left my feet itched for a few days. So pay attention to the cleaning procedure before putting your feet in :) I later found a new pedicure place :) read more

I was fully aware of the bad reviews but didn't have time to go to Chico as I have the past few years. The experience at this shop was horrible. The Vietnamese lady that did my pedicure was elderly, small and frail. She definitely is not strong enough to give a leg massage but regardless she didn't even attempt to as she only very briefly rubbed something on my legs. The nail tech is lazy and rushes thru her job and the owners don't care. She very briefly attempted to file my nails then didn't even push back my cuticles at all. I asked her to file the nails and push back the cuticles. She looked over at the female owner who had given me dirty looks and said she did not speak English. Then the owner proceeded to tell me that she said she did push back my cuticles. The lady did a crappy attempt to partially cut back some of my cuticles. The owner then proceeded to tell me that the nail tech would not do my nails/feet again. There were other customers that were very loud talking to the male owner, Peter, in a crude conversation across one end of the shop to the other. This is definitely not a pleasant experience with no music or anything other than trashy people talking loudly and the owners are rude in this cramped shop. This never occurs in any of the shops I've gone to in Chico. This place is an uncomfortable experience that do horrible work and are rude as I wasn't even greeted when I showed up. One positive note is that the pedicure chairs are nice but that's the only positive thing I can offer. read more
