Where can I even begin with Sharon Economides? First, I am the husband here writing a review. I am…read morethe family Yelper, but know that my wife is in agreement with 100% of these words. This was our 3rd child, 1st homebirth. Demeanor: She is gentle, wonderful, knowledgeable, ever patient and clearly an expert. You would never decide to have a home birth with someone who isn't a de facto expert, and Sharon certainly is. You can read more about her training and background on their site. Visits: She was available, punctual, friendly, NEVER rushed, so kind. Answered every question, and followed up with anything we needed. She was always available via text, email or phone. Billing: She has a medical biller that is handling EVERYTHING. Love it. Whatever the insurance doesn't cover we pay. Fair enough - and before we did anything, she called and verified the coverage. Preparedness: She had a full on mid-wife as her assistant (Shannon) in delivery for my wife who was also wonderful. She dropped off the birth kit and didn't make us buy a laundry list of items. Most of what she asked us to have was super reasonable and we didn't need to order any "home-birth kits" - she brought it all a week or two before our due date. Chill-factor: 10 of 10: i'll go into it in a second, but Sharon is so "chill" so relaxed, peaceful -Zen even. It matters so much. And for us it definitely mattered. A portion of our birth story. I'll be writing a longer post for my personal blog, but want to share that our birth presented - at the very last minute - breech. It was crazy. We actually had hospital care through around week 30. The baby was perfect, in position, all good. When we switched to Sharon, the baby was still good. We believe that during labor, the baby flipped, all we know is that what seemed like a head ended up being a butt. The birth was so far along, that we decided to just go.... (baby was born about 6 minutes later)... Sharon had been present for a breech birth before so she kept the cool like I have never seen - i on the other hand was quietly losing my mind without my wife noticing. Long story short - perfection. yes folks, we delivered a breach baby, with no tearing, no issues, no complications, naturally, at home. To be clear, had we known this was a breach we would have gone to the hospital, but we didn't - but we are grateful that we had such a professional at our side. It was also key that she had another midwife with her for delivery. So awesome. After Birth: Sharon and Shannon (the other midwife) cleaned up everything, did laundry and stayed for awhile to ensure everything was okay. And it was. Baby latched in minutes, nursed well, pooped, peed, the whole nine. Postnatal visits: Sharon came by almost daily, recorded weight, checked the baby and mama. she kept GREAT records! Our pediatrician was completely impressed at the detail and regularity of visits for the baby. So were we! Bonuses: Sharon brought books over for our kids to prepare them for a home birth - it was awesome! They were so helpful. Details to mention: Sharon considered almost every angle in our birth plan, she was super inclusive of me in the process. She cared COMPLETELY that my wife always felt comfortable. She was never pushy, always calm and supportive. She likes to allow women to birth on their own and gently encourage during the process. She is a "birth-whisperer" - case in point, she barely spoke at times, she would almost communicate with touch and just breathing, helping my wife focus without words at times. In case I didn't say this enough - she was so calm that even when the baby presented breech - not one tone changed. She was the stoic honest person you need by your side. If you are thinking about a home birth just call Sharon, ask her for books and videos to watch. For us we decided on the home birth after 27 or so weeks of hospital care - so it's really never too late to do it. We whole-heartedly recommend Sharon! Pierre & Sonya

I had been using a shield recommended to me, but my baby was not putting back on her birth weight. On the first visit, within the first few minutes Sharon was able to get my baby to latch properly without the shield! Just by making a few simple suggestions around my babies position and using a pump to help pull the nipple out a little more, my baby was able to latch and begin to nurse properly. Sharon is not only very knowledgeable in her field, but she has a really good vibe to her, making mama and baby feel comfortable. With her down to earth personality and her calm presence, she is able to communicate the information she needs to relay with great ease. Sharon was also very helpful by phone, text and e-mail and was quick to respond when questions which came up between the few sessions we met. I highly recommend any new mama to Sharon. Nursing is not intuitive and if you are having trouble getting started, you will be happy you contacted Sharon so that you and your baby can begin a nursing rhythm that will bring you both great joy and love.

With my firstborn, I lived in fear for the first month that she wasn't getting enough milk. Maggie helped me measure my current transfer, improve my technique, and understand the bigger picture of my baby's development. And my baby's weight corrected exactly as Maggie predicted! Every visit with Maggie was immensely helpful, regardless if there was a specific problem or a checkin, because she uniquely helped me one connect the dots between my baby's birth, status updates from pediatrician visits, and the round-the-clock grind of newborn feeding. Maggie was such an indispensable part of that experience that I reached out to her again during my second pregnancy. This time, she helped me troubleshoot my second baby's lower appetite and different positioning issues, and reassured me that breastfeeding was working even when my baby simply chose to eat less. Seven months postpartum, her read on the situation has proven completely accurate. Maggie combines deep expertise with a mother's empathy (something well intentioned pediatricians can't always offer!) plus a real understanding of what breastfeeding can and can't control. No one made me feel more supported in the hardest moments of postpartum recovery.

Quite the contrary, the speaker was really approachable and practical. She talked through just about every scenario and offered a really great mindset - feed as much breastmilk as you can whenever you can, and it's totally OK to make up the difference with formula. Unfortunately, the baby care class dropped this down to 4 stars. It was borderline a waste of time. The instructor was scattered and not very helpful. Lots of tech challenges. Not much help in the way of answering questions or providing practical advice. Very limited hands on practice. I went with a friend because my husband was out of town and I was almost embarrassed that she wasted time in that class with me.

For the past 5 years, I've completely dedicated myself to my children and family. It's become a large part of my identity and I needed a reminder that "mommy" isn't the only title that defines me. I wanted to reclaim the strong, sexy, and stunning part of myself and Natalia made it possible for me to do that. I booked a session with her for my birthday this past October and the experience exceeded my expectations. She was very professional, scheduling a consultation before we even set a date to answer all my questions, go over details, and to set expectations. Leading up to our shoot, we shared a Pinterest inspiration board. I had outside-of-the-box boudoir ideas and Natalia was extremely receptive to capturing something beyond the ordinary. When the day arrived, I got to spend a few hours playing the ultimate dress-up and indulging the fantasy-nerd in me. I felt confident, empowered, glamorous, and alive! Natalia was warm and vibrant; made me feel like I was hanging out with my best friend. As a woman and a mother, herself, she really understood my feelings and helped me bring out the best in myself. While the shoot took place during the flatter part of the COVID curve, she took all safety precautions and I felt very safe during our session. Several weeks later, I got a beautiful album and series of photos that truly reflect my inner goddess! Definitely one of the best investments that I've ever made. Natalia allowed me to have a wonderful experience and exquisite keepsakes that I can admire for a lifetime. This was truly a gift and worth every single penny!

We first booked her for Christmas photos and then again for maternity pictures and most recently for newborn pictures. Yesenia works with your ideas and with her photographer's eye makes your dream picture come to life. I will continue to book Yesenia for my photography shoots and she is the first person I recommend when someone is looking for a photographer. Safety: As a mother, I have taken extra precautions during this pandemic so I was skeptical at first to book a photographer- but Yesenia has always ensured we feel safe as she creates a safe environment. She has kept her mask on for every shoot we have had with her, she disinfects all the items before use. Even now that she is fully vaccinated she keeps her mask on and constantly cleans her hands. Christmas Shoot: I first booked her when she was offering a Christmas mini in 2019. My husband, son, and our dog Moo showed up to the session at a park in the city. Yesenia was invited and warm as she helped us pose alongside the props she had. Also noted was that she was wearing a mask and disinfected the items we used as props in front of us before the shoot. I loved the pictures she took of us for Christmas that for the first time in a long time, I sent out Christmas cards! Pregnancy Shoot: I did not think I would ever have another child so when I became pregnant in 2020 I was ecstatic & quickly knew I wanted to well document this journey. I reached out to Yesenia right away, she congratulated me and told me when the most ideal pregnancy period was to take maternity pictures. I booked a spot for I was about 34 weeks pregnant. Before the shoot, Yesenia called me to discuss the color scheme, pictures I wanted to recreate, family portrait options, and the details of what I needed to take to the shoot that day. After our call, she sent me a detailed list of what to expect during the shoot and how I could prepare. When we arrived at the studio she made us feel comfortable as we took family pictures and then more intimate pregnancy pictures. My pictures came out so good everyone was in awe at how beautifully Yesenia captured that moment. Newborn Shoot: So of course I reached out to her again when my son was born. And as always she was great. She had everything in the studio prepared for our pictures. Yesenia even takes extra steps to ensure the newborn is comfortable the entire shoot. During the shoot, Yesenia was extremely calm and patient as she helped us pose and dress our son. Our son was asleep just about the entire session because he was so comfortable. I just received the raw images of this shoot and as always I am not disappointed. I cannot wait to see the final versions of these pictures =)
