came in over the weekend and had a wonderful appointment! i am usually quick to make decisions and so i knew if i was going to find THE dress, it would be pretty immediate. my stylist was sydney and she was wonderful. i am only 3 months postpartum (c-section) and sydney made me feel really comfortable with the process of trying on gowns. this was my first time shopping and i ended up picking the 2nd dress i tried on. i came all the way from northern maryland for a particular designer, which i didn't end up going with but nonetheless i felt amazing and it was a wonderful experience! read more

First off, I'll say I had a wonderful experience trying dresses on in the salon. My stylist was so great, making the experience really comfortable and enjoyable. She was lovely to talk to, seemed genuinely interested in connecting with me, and didn't come across as salesy or pushy at all. Now on to why I unfortunately have to give the salon 3 stars. I was part of the cohort of women who almost didn't get their dresses in time for their weddings. Honestly, the dress almost not arriving on time isn't even really the issue for me. I understand that shipping is hard to estimate, and that factors outside the salon's control may affect the arrival time. Fine, I could have handled all of those issues. The thing is, I can't give those kinds of concessions or that level of understanding when a salon chooses to just not respond, not update, make up excuses, or straight up lie about the location and arrival time of my dress. Over the course of several months, I had three separate pickup appointments scheduled, but Lovely canceled them at the last minute and rescheduled them before I actually got my dress. No one was ever straight up with me, even after I directly asked them to do so, and still. They once told me my dress was already here, so they booked an appointment for me to come in and pick it up, and then called me 30 minutes before the appointment to say it wasn't there. I don't live in DC. It's a huge pain to drive all the way into DC just to have your appointment canceled for the THIRD time. In the end, my dress arrived with enough time for it to be rush-tailored for my wedding. It looked great, but the stress and awful not-up-front back-and-forth with the salon really soured the experience. It sucks because I loved my stylist and want to sing the salon's praises, but unfortunately, she was the only good thing about Lovely in my opinion. read more

I went here for 2 separate appointments, a bridal appointment and accessories appointment. The experience itself was great. They have a great selection of dresses and I actually found my dress here, but I did not "say yes" to the dress at this location. I had emailed them to get more info about a customization I wanted to make and never heard back. So I found the same dress at a different location and went with that one. I decided to go back for an accessories appointment to give them a second chance as I did really enjoy the experience. In person they're responsive and great. I asked for a price point for the two veils I liked and a production time and was told they'd get back to me Wednesday. The appointment was Saturday and it is now Thursday and I have not heard back. I sent an email as well with still no luck. This place is great to have the bridal experience and find your dress but not the best place for following up, follow through or committing to your dress or accessories here which is very unfortunate as your dress is not what you want to stress about on your wedding day. read more

I am leaving 3 stars because LB fixed my issue when corporate management became aware of what was happening in this store. TLDR: the franchise owner for a while was not fulfilling orders and people were not getting their dresses - I was one of them. I ordered my dress in late summer 2025 and was scheduled for an April 3 estimated pick up date. The pick up date came and went with no meaningful communication from the store. I called probably about 10 times, and the store kept telling me that they would 'check on the shipping' and get back to me at best, at worst getting audibly annoyed that I kept calling. They never got back to me with an update on my dress. Finally I went into the store physically to check on my dress. Two days later they called and told me my order had never been placed. They ended up giving me a floor model of my dress, a discount, and paid for my alterations. I got my dress literally just in time for my wedding. Thank you to Lanie for making this right. It ultimately worked out. Hopefully the store can continue in the right direction and new management will run this place more honestly than the last franchise owner. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. I "said yes" to the dress in March 2025. My experience in-store was uncomfortable from the start--the stylist was rude and dismissive until it was clear we were serious about buying. That should've been my sign to leave. I was originally told my dress would be ready for pickup in December 2025. It is now April 2026, and I still do not have it. That's over 13 months of waiting for a wedding dress. Communication throughout was consistently poor and reactive. I had to repeatedly follow up just to get basic updates, and timelines were vague, shifting, and never met. As my wedding approaches, the lack of transparency has been incredibly stressful. I was scheduled to pick up my dress twice. Both appointments were canceled the morning of with no real explanation and no urgency. Completely unacceptable for something this time-sensitive. After months of this, I requested a refund because there was no clarity or confidence that the dress would ever arrive. After that, communication from Danielle, the store owner, essentially stopped. Prior to that, she mentioned she would "tentatively" travel--one week to Cincinnati and the next to New York--to address the issue, but nothing ever came of it and no resolution was provided. Ultimately, Lovely Bride DC never had my dress in its possession and still cannot provide a clear answer on where it is or when it will arrive. After more than a year, I was left without the dress I paid for, without answers, and without accountability. This is completely unacceptable for any bride. I strongly urge others to go elsewhere. read more

I recommend avoiding Lovely DC until the purported new management is able to fix ongoing issues. I bought a dress here in June 2025, with a suspected arrival of early spring 2026. I checked in periodically as my estimated date of arrival came and went with 0 communication. I initiated communication at least a dozen times to request an update on the status of my gown. The Lovely team did not respond to the majority of my outreach. When they did, their responses were at best terse, and at worst rude, jaded, or in an attempt to gaslight or play the blame game for the delay. They repeatedly stated they had "no control" over the status of my dress. At one point I received an email that my dress was in production and on its way. At their direction, I scheduled a pick up appointment, and received no further update that my dress had arrived until a text received at 10:30 PM the night before my appointment stating my dress was actually not in. I had booked a train to DC to pick my dress up for this as I live out of town. The next day (after I called, emailed, and texted several times with no response), I finally received a call that new management was taking over Lovely DC. I was also informed that my dress was actually not on its way and in fact, they had no idea if it was produced yet or not. Therefore I have an email with a Lovely employee directly lying to me about my dress. Luckily the new management does seem to be improving things as I finally have my dress after months of this back and forth, and with only about 3 weeks to do alterations before my wedding. I do feel terribly for other brides in this position whose dresses are still lost, were never ordered, or worse, who received dresses that were not at all what they ordered but had no choice but to accept the dress due to time constraints. Overall, there are significant issues that need to be addressed at Lovely DC and I can only speculate about what might have been going on with the prior management to scam brides out of their dresses. I absolutely do NOT recommend buying a dress here - it is too important to risk being in the same shoes as me or other recent brides with similar stories! read more

Twice they made appointments for dress pick up and alterations only to cancel early the same day. 2 weeks ago someone was going to fly to Cincinnati to pick up the dress, last week someone was going to take the train to New York. Go literally anywhere else. They ruined my financé's entire dress experience. After custom ordering a dress, my fiancé went to pick it up 7 months later, two months before the wedding, when it was ready. It was the wrong dress - cut incorrectly, an entirely different material and color. Laughable product compared to what she ordered. They insisted it was the same, despite hoarded of friends, family, and dressmakers unequivocally confirming it was not. They tried to get her off their hands to a tailor asap so the transaction would be complete. She did not accept (because it is NOT what she paid for) and we have been attempting to find an agreeable solution with the shop. They claimed the issue was being routed to higher management - in reality, they have gone completely cold. They have not responded to calls, voicemails; or emails for two months. What's more? She also ordered a veil 10 months ago. It's still not in, so now she has to find a new veil the week before our wedding. They took made the dress incorrectly, didn't make the veil, and now they have the dress, the veil, and our money with no effort to contact us again. Our wedding is in a week. Our lawyer on retainer will be enthusiastically contacting them within the next few weeks. Do yourself a favor and go to literally any other dress shop if you want to love your dress and have a stress free experience. read more

This is literally the worst bridal salon I've ever been to, customer service-wise. I visited recently as a friend of a bride, and the bridal stylist, Michelle, was terrible, absolutely the most standoffish, uninvolved, and disinterested bridal stylist I've ever encountered. (I'm recently married myself and during my own dress shopping, I visited at least four diff bridal salons, and never encountered such a disinterested stylist.) The stylist barely spoke to anyone and didn't speak to the bride's mom at all. Usually bridal stylists are friendly with the bride (and bride tribe) and the mother of the bride, asking things like how the bride and groom met, what the groom's name is, what type of wedding is planned, whether the bride is mom's first child to get married, etc.-- you know, general small talk that someone trying to assist the bride would ask to get a feel for the vibe and upcoming wedding. This stylist could not be bothered. She wanted to get us in and out with as little conversion as possible. What really annoyed me was when my friend (the bride) found a dress that she liked and wanted to try it on with a veil. The bridal stylist did not even ask her what type of veil my friend envisioned for her wedding day! The bridal stylist just went and picked up some short veil and as I saw her preparing to pin it to my friends head, I quickly spoke up and asked my friend "what kind of veil do you want?" My friend indicated that wanted a very long veil, so the stylist quickly pivoted (without a word) to go get a long veil instead. Again, she failed to ask any details, so she returned with a long, plain veil. My friend had to ask to see a long veil with trim detailing. When the appointment was coming to an end, she gave us a 10 min countdown and kept reminding us that we could leave and go get lunch and think about it. There was no "nice to meet you" or "thanks for coming" or any pleasantry of the sort. Wedding dress shopping is such an amazing, once-in-a-lifetime event, and bridal stylists should make brides and their parties feel welcome, not like a burden. This was the very first bridal salon my friend went to, and I was pissed that her experience was so lackluster. We managed to get a last minute appt at a bridal salon in Old Town, Alexandria and the experience was a million times better, like night and day compared to Lovely Bride! I wanted to visit Lovely Bride from the moment I heard about them. I just knew it was my bridal shop and I knew I would find my dress with them. I knew from some previous bridal shop experiences that I wanted a dress by Made With Love. I had already fell in love with two/three styles and was eager to try on more and maybe find something that was a perfect balance of all the aspects of the dresses that I loved. When I saw that Lovely Bride was having a Made With Love trunk show, I wanted to scream with excitement. Unfortunately, as soon as I had found out, upon attempting to book an appointment online, I realized that they had no more appointments available during the week of the trunk show. I was devastated. So, I called the shop directly and asked if it was possible at all to be put on a waitlist or anything that would allow me a chance to go to the trunk show and I explained how badly I wanted to be able to be there. The stylist I spoke with over the phone excitedly told me that she had a couple appointments that she could offer me and of course, I accepted. I had my appointment mid November and my aunt accompanied me. Like I said, this wasn't my first time visiting a bridal shop and I pretty much knew exactly what I wanted to try on and what I was ultimately looking for. Danielle, the manager, was my stylist for my appointment and she was AMAZING. She made me feel at home, she gave me her honest thoughts and she was also straight-forward with me. I felt very comfortable at Lovely Bride and with Danielle as my stylist. The best part, I ultimately found my dress. Their dresses are a little pricier than they would have been closer to my home in Richmond, but the experience made it worth it for me. With the trunk sale going on, I also received a special discount, which I only found out about when I went to "check out." That was just a bonus! All in all, I strongly recommend Lovely Bride. Skip the other shops, and just book an appointment with them. You know you want to and you won't regret it! read more

The quality to price is impeccable. I went to 6 other stores and none brought the same value as Lovely Bride DC. I was honestly struggling to find something that my mom would approve of. I value her opinion so much and of all the stores we went to she loved many of the dresses here - which was a refreshing first! I wish I could buy more than one dress there are so many styles and wonderful fabrics that made me feel amazing. Tabby is very good at what she does... I loved working with her. Very professional, not pushy, and I found a dress I really love! The store is very well organized. Their concept of paired down choices of quality designers, and the online questionnaire (which was easy and quick to fill) with the likes for you favorite dresses in advance is super helpful to begin with. But a good associate can understand how your mind is changing and Tabby very knowledgeably took me in a surprising direction that in the end was what I wanted. I am so thrilled to have purchased my wedding dress from Lovely Bride in Georgetown. It was only the second store I even looked for wedding dresses! Lead Stylist Elizabeth Reilly and the rest of the team truly made it the experience of my dreams from start to finish! The store itself is gorgeous and makes for a wonderful and memorable afternoon with whoever you bring along. My fiancé had dropped off treats and wine and Elizabeth had no problem accommodating him and allowing us to drink/eat in designated spaces during my appointment. Elizabeth got my style right away and I had so much fun trying on different dress options, as well as veils and even some beautiful opera gloves. Towards the end of the appointment when we still hadn't found "the one", Elizabeth mentioned they had just received a shipment from a new designer that was actually two weeks ahead of time. She thought one of the dresses might be just what I was looking for and rushed in the back to help her manager open the package! The second I put it on, I knew it was going to be my wedding dress. I have never seen such a beautiful fabric or perfect design - even with tissue paper still tacked around the bottom!!! When my maid of honor was in town just a few days later, I knew I had to see if Elizabeth could squeeze us in to try on the dress again - despite the team saying they would need a few weeks to receive the new designer's size chart. Within a couple minutes of texting, Elizabeth had us booked with a full appointment block during my MOH's visit. When I came out wearing the dress and both my parents, maid of honor, AND Elizabeth were teary-eyed, I knew my decision was made! I can't thank you all enough for the outstanding service we received. True story, this is the first place I came to and I went alone and ended up falling in love with the second dress I tried on and the rest is history. I selected a Savannah Miller dress that is simply gorgeous and exactly what I envisioned. I was referred to Lovely Bride by a co-worker who had not purchased a dress from the store but cited that she had a really great experience and there was no pressure. She was right, this place is not snobby and I felt right at home. This goes to show you how powerful word of mouth is! A few tips: ~3,000 is their sweet spot, so if you are on a strict budget I don't suggest coming here. They do have some dresses for less but really you are setting yourself up for possibly falling in love with something that is out of your price range. They do not have a HUGE selection, this is a boutique not a warehouse. I would say approximately 100 dresses. Walking into Lovely Bride DC was like walking into my dream closet. Everything from the "Let's do the damn thing" sign downstairs to the magical boho paint to the metallic touches made me feel glamorous before I even put a dress on. Full disclosure: I had been shopping for a bridesmaid dress a few weeks before, where I had a horrible experience and left feeling like the stylist didn't understand me, and worse, made me ashamed of my body. So, I was nervous before I even arrived. Luckily, my wedding dress stylist, Danielle, was an extension of that perfect dream setting from the moment she introduced herself, and immediately made me feel calm. Danielle took the time to listen to what I wanted, and made me feel comfortable in everything I tried on. Above that, she was extremely professional, knew what would look good on my body, and encouraged me to try on a variety of styles to see what I really felt good in. She even helped style my hair when we did the lightning round at the end! The dress I ended up buying was one Danielle picked, and I could not be more thankful that I trusted her to help me. Since I purchased my dress, I've thought about it every day, and I can truly say bridal shopping has been the highlight and the standard that I'm using to plan the rest of my wedding. What I didn't feel during my appointment: anxious, rushed, forced to like or purchase any styles. What I DID feel during my appointment: positive vibes, encouragement, and beautiful. I'm not an emotional person and I even had that OMG bridal moment where I couldn't stop happy crying in my dress. Danielle has even kept in touch since my appointment, and I'm so excited to see her when I pick up my dress in a few months. From the time my mom and I walked into the store, we loved every bit of the experience here. The private try-on areas made me feel like a VIP and my consultant, Tabby, was excellent. I came in with a really good idea of what I was looking for (including a couple specific dresses) but I ended up falling in LOVE with one that Tabby pulled by the same designer. I never thought I'd be the type of girl to have that 'this is it' feeling in a wedding gown but I DID! My favorite thing about the experience was that Tabby let me take a good look at myself in the dresses before opening the curtain to 'unveil' it to my mom. Having those few moments to form my own opinion before showing her made me feel so much more at ease. It's not something that happened at other boutiques I went to. I called back the next day to purchase the dress over the phone and the consultant I spoke with (Danielle, I think?) was friendly, polite and understanding. My mom's card got denied (big charge, out of state retailer) and the consultant patiently waited on the phone and was happy to answer all my questions so I didn't feel rushed at all. I'll start by saying the DC Georgetown store is gorgeous and makes you feel that you are a bride looking for that special dress! However, this was my third stop, and it was not that great of an experience, particularly compared to how great of a time my family and I had at the previous two stops. The stylish helping us made me feel rushed, and I felt pressured to decide right then and there because of how long the shipping would take. I needed a day or two to review the photos and take my time to make a decision. It's understandable, and I realize that regardless of where I ordered, I would need to decide soon, but I did not like how I felt so pressured. It made me feel like the stylish cared more about my money than me finding the right dress. I did find a dress I loved, but due to how I felt in the store, I went with another dress at another place that made me feel special and cared for. The dress I bought is custom-made in Australia, and not once did the store or stylish make me feel that I needed to rush my decisions. read more

This was the very first place I shopped as a "bride to be". I always knew I would never feel super self confident when looking for a wedding dress (I'm not a huge fan of shopping in general). I had hoped however that when searching for my dress that I'd find comfort in a stylist who knew and understood how stressful this situation can be. I had heard great things about Lovely Bridal from friends who had been to the Philly and DC shops, however I was wrong when coming to lovely Dc . I don't think I have ever written a negative review about anything in my whole life but I don't want others to go through what me and my family experienced. Despite leaving the appointment feeling full of self doubt I did find my dress locally at another store that made me feel like an absolute queen no matter what I put on. Wedding dress shopping for an introvert is hard, but working with a stylist that doesn't care makes it even harder. I could understand if someone was having a bad day but having to put money down just to be there and not getting any help whatsoever really hurt. I will never forget how i felt that first day wedding dress shopping, especially when my family had one day in town to shop with me. I am a size 18 dresses, they had 3 samples in my size (BARELY) and were trying to make way smaller samples work. They say they cater to plus size women, and they so do not. Loved the consultant's process too - first you walk through and pick 5-6 dresses you like, then she will help you in the second round to pull more she think will suit you. Cons: the location isn't great and parking is difficult. I didn't receive a follow up email with the dress info or suggestions on new stock coming in. I visited lovely bride in March of 2016 and found my dream dress with the help of a very charming Aleksa..... Flash forward to my appointment to pick up my dress and I was SO excited! My dream dress was about to go home with me! I traveled from baltimore to pick it up - not an easy commute but I felt it was worth it. I entered the store with so much excitement and enthusiasm and instantly my mood was turned upside down when I was greeted by an unfriendly associate who didn't seem interested in my excitement. I felt disappointed as to why she wasn't being more friendly especially when I was about to pay off the $2,000 on my dress. I feel like this is such a huge milestone in the wedding planning process that anyone would want to go along with the positive mood for the customers sake. It made me very uncomfortable and all of a sudden I wasn't so excited anymore. After she looked me up and down I realized quickly she was probably judging my appearance. (This appointment was for a final fitting and to pay off the balance and take the dress home....) I was freshly showered and only had on yoga pants and a t-shirt....I mean I was making it as easy as possible to get in and out of the dress. I felt judged because I didn't "look" like I belonged in a Georgetown boutique and therefore I was wasting her time. I was also disappointed because Aleksa wasn't there! I gave the benefit of the doubt to my new stylist who was nice...nothing overly friendly. She let me try on the dress and I walked out to the mirror and both the unfriendly girl who greeted me and my new stylist just stared at me. They didn't even say anything along the lines of, "you look beautiful!" Again, I felt so self conscious I couldn't enjoy the moment. I was absolutely in love with the dress but felt like I couldn't really express that. And still the two girls just kept staring at me. I was so upset because of how uncomfortable they made me feel. I just wanted to get out of there as soon as possible. They never even asked, "how does it fit?" Or "do you have any concerns?" They just kept staring at me while I looked at myself in the mirror. I just wanted to take it off as soon as possible. My dress needed very detailed alterations (also the sample I tried on was missing a huge piece - how unprofessional) when I brought up the missing piece on the sample dress my new stylist laughed and said, "oh yeah all our dresses are missing pieces." Anyway, I asked how the alteration place would know what to do and she recommended the place they send all their customers and told me "they would already know". I politely told her I'm already coming from baltimore I would prefer a more local alteration place and how will they know what to do...what should I tell them? When she heard me Reject her offer to their alteration place her attitude changed and she mumbled, "they just will" and walked off. I was left confused and anxious on how to trust her let alone try to explain to my seamstress how to properly alter the beaded pieces. So then comes time to pay my balance; $2,012 and some change. Naturally my bank only allows me a $2,000 daily limit so I asked if I could just put $2,000 on my debit card and pay the remaining TWELVE dollars in cash. She said sure and I handed her a twenty. She came back a couple minutes later and I quote, "um actually we don't have change do you think YOU can go get some change for me?" .....EXCUSE ME? I was speechless. I know most people probably don't pay cash at that store but REALLY? Just because you aren't prepared for cash transactions doesn't mean you make the customer go figure it out. She should not have even said anything to me and gone down the street herself to get change. Having customer service experience myself, I couldn't believe she asked me that. Did I mention it was 96 degrees outside? Did I also mention I just spent $2,000 and you want me to go handle it? After I dug in the bottom of my purse for change and loose dollar bills I said under my breath "you've got to be kidding me". I was humiliated and pissed. I left upset and angry at their unprofessionalism and terrible customer service. I guess I don't mold into the snobby Georgetown demographic for them to waste time showing me good customer service. Had a really great first time dress shopping experience here. We worked with Tabby, who was amazing--I really appreciated that all the dresses she pulled were respectful to my budget, and that she was listening to my feedback on each dress I tried on and suggesting more options based on that. I also think it's a real testament to her that I'll most likely buy the first dress she suggested, which I love! Only suggestion I'd make is that the store seemed to be scented with a perfume smell, which some people (like me) are very sensitive to. I left feeling a little nauseous as a result. read more

Beautiful store and kind knowledgeable consultants! It was easy to make my appointment online and it was fun working with my consultant ahead of time to give her an idea of what I was interested it. Come the actual day, I was so impressed by how gorgeous the actual shop is- exactly what I wanted me dress shopping experience to be! My consultant had picked out 2 dresses, both of which I loved, then used that information and feedback to pick out several others. The only issues is that I loved EVERY single dress she picked out (and I am PICKY- literally had gone to a store in the morning and hated every one I tried). She was amazing. I had been very excited to start my dress journey at Lovely but was so disappointed with my experience. I came in from Annapolis area and was a little bit late due to traffic. I knew that meant our time would be cut short, but our consultant (I truthfully couldn't tell you her name because we never received our follow up email with the dresses I did try on) was extremely aloof, uninterested, and seemed irritated at my presence. She offered no guidance on other dresses to try on other than the ones I had selected before. When I asked to see other dresses, she brought me things that seemed completely opposite of what I was asking for. I was really under the impression from Lovely's Instagram presence that they would be somewhat size inclusive. I am a straight size 8/10, bridal 12/14. My consultant brought me samples that were so small that I had to squeeze my butt into and it was honestly humiliating. I know bridal samples are restrictive in terms of sizing, but I didn't have this issue at other bridal boutiques like BHLDN. I ended up ending the appointment early despite only having 40 minutes to begin with because it was so awful. I saw other brides with similar bodies to mine there seemingly having a much better experience than I was. I think maybe I got unlucky with my consultant, but I wouldn't recommend Lovely to a friend. read more

the consultant Alexa at Lovely Bride DC helped me find the gown of my dreams. She knows what shes doing ladies! She chose 3 dresses for me to try on to start. I had shown her a few gowns from their intsa page that I was interested in. Based upon what I showed her, and what we discussed, the gowns she brought me hit the nail right on the head. They were not exactly the ones that I showed her, which is fine, because I am curvier, so I figured the ones I liked would not be in my size. That all being said, the first gown I tried at lovely bride was perfect. My squad and I had been to david's bridal prior to going to lovely, and wow, you can absolutely tell the difference between the two stores selection and quality. Lovely Bride carries high quality, well constructed garments, and amazing staff to help you on your gown journey. Even if you do not end up buying one from them, I think it is worth it go and give it a shot. side note- Alexa was actually on the design end of the bridal wear for over a decade before she started in the consulting, which I think puts her at a huge advantage to help you find what you will love. Lovely Bride is the best bridal boutique - elegant, intimate, and high quality. They carry some of the most beautiful dresses that I've seen and the consultants know what they are doing! Alexa helped me find the perfect dress, and it was one that I may have never selected to try on if I were on my own and going solely based off of what the dresses look like on the hanger. The consultants may know better than you yourself what shape and style will look flattering and embody everything you want in a dress! The dress arrived on time and they were very accommodating as COVID-19 prevented me from being able to pick the dress up from the store, so they were able to ship it to me asap! I had such a positive experience shopping at Lovely Bride DC and I especially want to sing the praises of my consultant Danielle, who was extremely kind, professional, and patient throughout my wedding shopping experience! My dress appointment was scheduled in late September 2020. I was a little hesitant about shopping for a dress in-person - especially because my mother accompanied me - but felt reassured by the boutique's adherence to strict COVID-19 protocol. I had an appointment scheduled early in the morning, there was only one other client situated at the opposite end of the store at that time, and both my mother and I felt comfortable throughout the entire experience. I had a relatively good sense of the dress silhouette that I was interested in and was excited to make an appointment at Lovely Bride DC because they carried a designer I was interested in. Danielle did a wonderful job of selecting dresses that a) were within my budget and b) matched the description of what I articulated I wanted. Unlike my experience at another bridal shop, I never felt rushed or pressured to make a decision about a dress on the spot. I left my appointment mulling over two dress options and Danielle went out of her way to help me schedule a second, quick appointment about two weeks later so that I could try on both dresses one more time before finalizing my decision. I just picked up my dress today - it arrived exactly within the timeline that Danielle outlined for me - and I am so, so thrilled that I chose to shop here! I never considered myself the type of bride-to-be that would have "that dress" experience. You know, the type that includes champagne, tears and saying "yes" to a dress. I always just figured I would find a dress that was good enough and move on with the planning process. Lovely Bride DC, and Tabby in particular, changed my perceptions. Although my friends and I arrived almost an hour early for our appointment, we got all checked in and couldn't help but fall in love with every aspect of the salon, including the waiting area (awesome neon signage that totally lends itself to the instagram photos we're all always on the hunt for.) Once we were brought back to a showroom and I met with Tabby, she immediately made me feel comfortable and like my budget and vision were synonymous with Lovely Bride as a brand. She quickly pulled some lovely dresses, all with different elements of what I was looking for, but ultimately unsure of until I tried them on. Although I wasn't aware of it at the time, she was gauging my like and dislike for every tiny detail of the dresses I was trying on and letting that inform what she pulled from the racks. About halfway through my session, she showed me a dress that was very similar to the style of my favorite designer, but significantly more within my price range. However, on the hanger, the dress didn't look like something I would ever consider, "the one." Boy, was I glad I trusted Tabby's insight and vision. From the moment she zipped and clipped the dress, I began to feel that flutter and comfort in a dress that I didn't expect to feel at all, let alone a mere 7 or 8 dresses into my appointment. I expressed this to her and we revealed the dress to my party. As soon as Tabby sensed that my friends weren't having the same reaction to this dress as I was, she jumped into action and accessorized the dress to help everyone see the vision I was looking for. With a veil, flowers and a little accessorizing, my friends began crying. I felt it instantly, but we tried on a couple more dresses, including one I asked for specifically that ultimately didn't work out as I imagined it. By the end, Tabby put me back in my favorite dress, complete with accessories and I had the opportunity to say "Yes!" to my dress and even begin crying myself. Since that day, I've done little more than reminisce on what a perfect experience it was and look back at pictures of my dress. I came here after another bridal salon had ordered me the wrong size dress six months ago and I was in a pinch to get a dress. I worked with Alexa who was able to fit me in immediately, listened to exactly what what I wanted and made me feel so much better. I have been to Lovely Bride twice in the last few months in search of my wedding dress. I am the type of person that thinks they know what they want immediately. I obsess on my initial findings. I usually stick with it, make a (somewhat) definitive decision and then I have a tinge of regret... of not exploring ALL of my choices. I first came into Lovely Bride and met with Danielle. She was hip, professional, and kind. She helped me slip into any dress that we picked out. I just needed more. I needed a stylist to guide me through the world of tulle, organza, and satin. I then emailed the store about wanting a better experience and Julia responded. Julia understood my dilemma, apologized for my simply average consultation the first time around and invited me back in. She informed me about the trunk shows coming up, what a trunk show was, and I felt like I was in good hands. She knew what she was talking about! I came in during the last day of the Watters Trunk show and found my ivory stunner. I appreciated Julia's help and sweet demeanor but more than that I love how she handled the customer service end of things. At the end of the day, we are in fact shopping for a dress that can cost thousands. All in all, there are good people that work here. Ones that will work with you and make you feel very comfortable. A few things to keep in mind: 1. They have about 10 racks of gowns. Nothing is "in the back". If you see a gown online by a designer that they carry, call ahead and see if the sample is in store. If not, they can pre-order the sample on loan (at a fee of $100 that can deducted from your dress purchase) for you so that you have it here for your appointment. 2. No need to bring high heels really. Wear your spanx if you want. 3. Deposit on your gown is 50% of the price. 4. Ask for the front salon if you want the best experience. It has the largest sitting area for your group and a separate dressing area. It gives you THE experience. 5. No, you don't get champagne. read more
