If you need a great math tutor, please do not hesitate to look further, Peter will help you achieve…read moreyour goals. For context, I am a teacher who was in need of passing the CST Math Exam (NYSTCE) and after a few tutoring sessions, I PASSED. Previously, I had spent hundreds of dollars on prepping materials and tutors which none worked because my math skills were so poor (not an exaggeration). Peter suggested before we work on complex math problems, I needed to learn how to master basic math skills and so we did. He provided materials and other resources to help me understand math problems and develop the skills I needed to solve them. Peter is incredibly talented, kind and extremely patient, which all components make him one the best tutor I have encountered.

My two daughters attended NYC public elementary, middle and high schools. Bee Tutored played a big…read morepart in the academic success of my girls, as neither my wife nor I were expert enough in mathematics and science to guide them through challenging patches. Over six or seven years, we've used an equal number of tutors. Owner Kate Pritchard was extremely responsive and did a good job matching my daughters' challenges with a tutor (usually college aged or recently graduated from college) who had absolute mastery of the subject. Only on one occasion did we ask for a rematch. Bee Tutored sent over a replacement tutor the following week -- and we continue to use him 16 months later for my daughter, a senior at Brooklyn Tech. We credit the work of Bee Tutored during middle school, along with SHSAT prep classes, with helping my youngest gain admission to one of the specialized high schools, Brooklyn Tech. Had the Bee Tutored tutoring center opened several years ago, we would have availed ourselves to their SAT and ACT college test prep, which our girls took at Kaplan. They found Kaplan sterile and uninspiring, not to mention disorganized. Test grades were often not posted on time and classes were canceled without advance notice. My oldest daughter saw no improvement in her score from PSAT to SAT, even after taking the Kaplan course twice. Bee Tutored is the antithesis of for-profit, corporate tutoring mills like Huntington, Sylvan, Kaplan and Princeton Review. Anytime I have wanted to speak with the owner, Kate, I reached her via email and phone. She takes pride in her business and the success of kids receiving tutoring from Bee Tutored. As a longtime customer of the business, I attended the open house for the new tutoring center and met the Scratch computer programming tutor and the SHSAT prep tutor. They were just like the young adults that have mentored my kids over the years -- bright, warm and eager to teach. I recommend Bee Tutored to any parent who doesn't have the time and/or skills to help his or her kid with homework and test prep. They've come through for me over many years and I have two smart, confident daughters to show for it.

Josh was extremely accommodating, often moving sessions back an hour if I was working a bit later that day with only an hour or so notice. His process throughout our time together was great. I always left those sessions hoping to see those problem types on the test. Truly would turn weak spots into strengths of mine. Seeing the progress reflected in practice test scores was great and happened quickly. I couldn't recommend Manhattan Prep and Josh enough.

Not only does…read moreit fill in the gaps of the educational system that our children are apart of, but it also gives them the tools to think critically and analytically when confronted with new/high-quality material. Since my daughter started Scholarskills, immediately her attitude towards learning has changed. Prior to this program, she had a very nonchalant attitude towards learning and when learning new material, would often back down. However, she has become audacious in learning and is up for any challenge because she now has the tools to thoroughly think things through. Being a part of this program as a parent is also a pleasant experience as I get to learn new teaching techniques, through observation, that I can implement at home. Pastor Vieira and his staff (Joshua and Caleb) are absolutely exceptional in their teaching methodology and are simply good/caring people. They are also highly educated and knowledgeable about the educational needs of your child as each child receives learning instruction and materials based on their needs (other programs give the same work in the same manner to every child despite the child's needs...trust me because this is coming from a parent who placed her child in a number of "big-name" tutoring centers.) This is an awesome program...if your child needs help with their academics or as in my case, wants your child to have that "edge," Scholarskills is the place!

I can only speak about Daisy, my son's instructor. I believe she also manages this location. She is a wonderful instructor who clearly cares about the kids and empathizes with parents about this whole ordeal. Given her experience, she is also very knowledgeable about the exam and G&T process in general. She was very pleasant to deal with. I won't bore you with the details of the curriculum as you can find that out for yourself through Fast Track. The best thing I can say is that my son enjoyed the class and the "homework." Daisy made learning fun for him and the other kids, and that's important. It's also very structured and I liked that hw really was minimal. My son had enough stuff going on besides G&T prep, and he was only 4 years old! To summarize, Daisy did a great job preparing my son, and the results prove it. I recommend this location, this course, and Daisy.

Our daughter was fortunate enough to score 99 on the exam and is now in a wonderful G&T program that she loves. We were so impressed with this program and the teacher, Daisy, that we are now signing up our son for the 3 year old Explorer program in the Fall of 2014 as his first educational experience. Once you learn about Kweller's strong track record of helping students get into Hunter, you understand that they really know what they are doing. One thing we especially appreciated was the number of review sessions and informative webinars they offer at no additional cost. It gave our son additional opportunities to practice, review material, and build confidence without feeling like we constantly had to pay for extra sessions. Preparing for the Hunter exam can be stressful, but having a program with experience, structure, and people who genuinely understand the process made a big difference for our family.
