I grew up in Greenville, but now live in New York. I wanted to buy my wedding dress at a place…read moreclose to my mother so that she could accompany me on all of my appointments. This bridal salon has been incredibly accommodating and I've had such wonderful experiences here so far. My first visit was to try on dresses. The sales associate was incredibly thorough with explanation of their selection, pricing and the way their store was organized. I felt a little apprehensive before my appointment because I knew there was no way I was going to fit into the "sample sizes." She did a really great job of making sure that I could envision what the dress would look like when it actually fit in the back (she made sure that the opening in the back due to the fact that I didn't fit was always covered so I wasn't exposed). They have their dresses arranged by price range, so without even going into detail with her, we were able to zero in on the right "section" for us based on our budget. I wanted a dress with sleeves on top, and at first got a little discouraged because I didn't see a lot of them...but the sales associate told me that I should look at the style of the dress and keep in mind that sleeves could be added after. I had never even thought of doing that! With her guidance, I found THE PERFECT dress! My second visit was for my first fitting. I had quite a lot of people accompany me for my fitting and we never felt crowded, rushed or like we were sharing the store with anyone else. My grandmother was there in a wheelchair with an aid, my aunt, my mother and my future mother-in-law. For those who are concerned about sharing the spotlight with another bride, consider making an appointment during a weekday. Just like anywhere else, a store like this will have more appointments on the weekend, so if you're looking for completely individual attention, you have to meet people half way sometimes! The fitting was such a wonderful experience. Their alterations department knows exactly what to do to the dress to make it look perfect. They started a pattern for the sleeves on my dress during the consultation and accommodated any requests I had as far as the shape of the dress on top with useful suggestions. They are truly experts in their field! My future mother-in-law traveled here with me from New York. She was incredibly complimentary of the staff at this store. She ended up purchasing a dress for our wedding here as well! They have an awesome selection of dresses for the rest of the bridal party as well as mothers, etc. I love the dress because it's more modern, and not matronly at all. I have made an appointment for my second dress fitting and I'm confident that my dress will truly turn out to be perfect for me. I couldn't ask for a more personalized, friendly and comfortable experience for such an important occasion. Unfortunately in the world of brides, positive reviews are few and far between and weddings sometimes bring out the worst in people. Brides can be incredibly picky and petty in this moment they've been waiting for their entire lives. I would urge anyone reading reviews of vendors for their wedding to really look at all the reviews for a place and not just the negative ones. These experiences can be incredibly emotionally charged and girls build them up in their heads so much that nothing is going to measure up no matter what.

The fitting went well with the exception that the dress we ordered was nearly completely sheer; significantly more than the sample dress. We were comforted with Madison Carolina's offer to send lining so Lauren would be comfortable and the dress would be acceptable to wear in her church wedding. Unfortunately, despite many attempts communication with the store, we did not receive the fabric until just shy of 12 WEEKS from her fitting. It is worth noting the staff is very friendly and accomodating during the on-site visits. Their gowns are beautiful with something for many brides. I want to leave a 5 star review, but until the poor communication, lack of organization, empty excuses, and lack of apology improves, I can not recommend this bridal and prom store.

Stop your search now and just head into the store or make an appointment. I am notoriously difficult to size when it comes to clothes fitting, I do not have the standard body shape and cannot buy off the rack if I want to look good. Since the first day I walked into this establishment Kevin and Angi have customized everything about my look starting with my tuxedo for my wedding. I stopped in multiple times throughout my experience, was educated on styles, fits and general etiquette for formal wear but had the luxury of a humble and tailored experience from Kevin and Angi. These two took copious amounts of time to customize my look and make sure I felt great and confident in an outfit that will be looked back on for my entire life. Another great aspect of this group is that Angi is the in-house tailor, they cut out the middle man. They get all of their products from high-end, high quality clothing suppliers so the materials will last a lifetime with the proper treatment. You can't find this material at your local chain clothing stores. Ultimately I am more than satisfied with my experience I am grateful to these two for making my big day of the utmost importance to them. I only wish more establishments had this kind of service.

That's when I found Empire. James, the owner, was so helpful and knowledgable. Pushy salesman make me feel really uncomfortable, but James is nothing of the sort. He treated me as though I was an old friend stopping in to say hello. The prices here are very reasonable and far better than any department store around. I was able to purchase two quality suits (and had them altered) all in one shop for an incredible price. Stop by Empire first before you waste your time at a department store.
