I was hesitant to go to Lounge4diamonds for an appraisal because they had no review on yelp. But I took the risk and I'm glad I did! So prepare for a long review since this will be the first for them. Of all the companies in NYC I contacted for a quotation to get an appraisal for insuarance for my 3 stone diamond engagement ring, this is the only company that quoted a realistic price of $45 flat rate. Some companies quoted for like at least $300 which would take at least an hour because they said they will analyse my diamonds and provide me with specs to check against my GIA certs. I mean seriously, that's completely unnecessary and stupid if I may say - what are my certificates for if they would grade it again? Are they going to challenge the lab if they graded my stones differently? If you want a straight forward, no bullsh*t appraisal (they'll just ask for GIA cert no and the specs) and get a print out of the insurance certificate in like 10mins (and free cleaning for your ring), then go to this place. I honestly think these people, Konstantin and Adam the gemologist, are people of integrity and don't take advantage and rob their clients by over charging them. They are honest and actually told me that other companies charge 1.5-2% of the appraised value. Which is true (based on the quotations I received around Manhattan). I've done my due diligence anyway, and what I paid for is how much an appraisal should cost. If you want to be entertained for at least an hour watching someone grade your diamonds, and pay extra for them to provide you information that are already stated on your certificates (and then in the end they'll ask you how much you paid for the ring anyway so that you can agree on how much you want it to be valued), then this place is not for you. I received an actual quote explaining me this long process and would charge me for $350. (Who would fall for that? They would really not do anything because you're providing them all the information anyway. I feel so sorry for the many people who wrote reviews on their page). Plus I want an honest valuation of my ring anyway, not based on how much it was bought! I would highly recommend Lounge4diamonds. They're honest (saw Adam calculated the price based on rapaport price list, then a standard multiplier, then cost for the setting), straight forward, and they make good cappuccino! I have never looked for a ring before. So, who do I trust when actually looking. My mom of course. My mom (and several of her friends) has used Adam and Konstantin (and the others working there) before and she spoke volumes about them as I began to educate myself on things. Nothing is ever easy, including finding of ring. There were so many details and nuances in the selection process that I became overwhelmed. Adam was extremely hands on and very informative, and he never gave up on me. I was naturally skeptical at first, especially since I had not met anyone in person. I'll just say that these guys blew my expectations out of the water on quality, cost, attention to detail, and customer service. I was on a very strict timeline as I had plans already in place. Not only did these guys meet my timeline, they went above and beyond when overnight delivery was stalled due to weather. I have never seen UPS deliver on a Saturday, but that is exactly what happened. I cant thank Adam and his team enough. I first worked with them when I brought in my antique engagement ring that I had broken a second time (I had taken it to Greenwich Jewelers to be fixed the first time, but it subsequently broke), and it has held up under a lot of physical duress over the past three years. When I was ready to design a wedding ring, they were the first and only place I visited. I brought them several diamond rings to utilize the stones for the new ring and a picture of a ring I had in mind, and the ring turned out gorgeous and exactly what I wanted. "Go west, dear friend, Go West" .. and west I went. To my surprise I was met with pure warmth, and professionalism on every level !! My jewelry was handled with loving care, and the appraisals were not only fair, but above my expectations.
