Everything I said about my first review stands. I also wanted to give a shout out to his expertise in removing mercury fillings. Amy, his assistant is great. Agnes, his dental hygienist is fabulous. Front office folks are professional, and warm. And can I rave about how he makes the crowns on site so you don't have to wait for two weeks?! It was really interesting to see the process. I had an excellent experience with Dr. Loul and his staff. He clearly knows his stuff and I got the impression that he really cares about making the experience great for everyone who walks in. The office itself is just a nice place to be. It actually smells nice (sign of attention to detail and care) and there are fun murals on the ceiling, another detail of care to me. Dr. Loul was able to extract a wisdom tooth for me quickly and precisely giving me clear post care instructions. I had no swelling and only minor discomfort for maybe 24 hours, a sign of his craftsmanship. The rest of his staff I found very pleasant as well and were extremely professional, kind and paid attention to the details. I would take a lot of these negative reviews with a grain of salt (or sugar because they're already pretty salty :) ). I know everyone has their own experience but I have to imagine there is a lot more context than is shared and I'm sure that Dr. Loul and his team would handle difficult situations with the upmost care which is not often easy to find (especially in health care). read more

We were Dr Dinning's patients for 20 years with great results. My first visit with Dr. Loul was a straightforward hustle about all the work Dr. Dinning had done incorrectly and what I needed to correct. Mind you, I am 65 and my teeth are just fine according to my maintenance and my Hygienist. I stopped going because of this hustle. My wife was asked by the hygienist why I was no longer seeing her and she told her that I didn't want to give business to this dentist. My wife was assured that I could go for a cleaning only so she booked an appointment. Today I was told that I would have to pay for X-rays and a consult that I did not agree to and they demanded $150 cancellation fee for services that I told the Hygienist in advance that I didn't want. 5/5 stars - no doubt about it. Easily my most pleasant dental visit experience. I went in for a general cleaning and also asked about some cosmetic work (teeth whitening and Maryland Bridge upgrade). Plenty of parking, and I was immediately greeted by 2 of the friendly front desk staff. Adeera quickly brought me in the back and addressed all my questions and concerns throughly. She was very knowledgable and very kind. Katheryn was the hygienist who worked on me. Very efficient and precise skills. She was became a hygienist to help educate people on oral health. She taught me a few new things while having a great conversation. Dr. Loul is awesome. When consulting me on my cosmetic procedures he laid all options on the table for me to decide. He truly works with you and wants to make sure that you are happy. Very honest guy. Great place. I will 100% be recommending Loul Dental Studio to my friends and family! read more

Dr Loul is very nice and very charming. I wanted him to cosmetically fix a couple chips in my top front teeth. He suggested veneers as the "best" option. I don't want to look like Matt Dillon in Something About Mary so I asked for other options. He told me bonding could work but I would likely be back every two weeks to have them repaired. I'm getting married soon and just wanted a simple option so my photos won't show chips in my teeth. So we went for the bonding. He did all 6 top teeth. After about 30 minutes of feeling like I was getting water boarded he was done. My bill was $5,100!! That's with a 5% friends and family discount. For an option that is going to need to be fixed every two weeks doesn't that seem a little steep?? You make the call. read more

wished I could give a good review of this place but my first and only trip there was an absolute disaster that now leaves me with even more fear of dental pain. I will say that Agnes who did my cleaning was amazing. During cleaning and x-rays they states that I had a filling that needed replaced. I had been having some discomfort in a chip in that tooth and thought that the chip was where the filling had broken. Cut to the day of my appointment. I had put in my chart that I was somewhat anxious about dental work. The Dr walks in with a Tec who I now realize he was training. He asks me if this is the tooth we are working on. I say yes. Then without ok let's numb you up etc I see a giant needle out of the corner of my eye. Ok to be expected. I have a small mouth and he kept trying to make it open more than was comfortable it was actually very painful and I was noticeably wincing. He did the whole thing without any chapstick or Vaseline etc. I was noticeably flinching as my lips started to crack and bleed from being over stretched. It was beyond painful he should have recognized my discomfort and attempted to do something about it. Only when we were done and the tools removed from my mouth was I able to ask for chapstick with tears in my eyes. I left teary and in pain and blotting blood from my split lips ..once in the car I broke down as the whole experience felt very violating. I don't know if this was because his dental assistant had absolutely zero experience..but I shouldn't be used as a test to train staff at full price ..I would have NEVER consented to allowing him to train someone at my cost. Now I probably would have been able to move past this and just never go back ....but once the numbness wore off I noticed the same chip was there and now in a different place when I flossed a very sharp pain comes from that tooth ...I had no pain when flossing prior! I literally left that appointment far worse than I went in and now had renewed dental fear. I went to another DDS and had to have the filling completely redone. So that was a waste of $1400. I thought about disputing half the charge, but decided leaving this review would be more of a service so people can avoid this office. Especially if you have dental fear ! read more

Dentist recommended I try Psilocybin mushrooms instead of my anxiety medication due to the grinding of my teeth. This was the first time I've met this dentist, and he even told me to see him after and he would "Help me out". On my last visit Dr. Loul argued in front of his staff that his recommendation is not illegal, and even named stores in California where this substance could be purchased. I felt extremely uncomfortable and ended up leaving the practice (after 25 years of being a patient) because the Dr. Loul was so hung up on this. Very scary advice to give considering he's not a Medical Doctor. Avoid at all costs, this is honestly scary that there's "Professionals" giving unsolicited medical recommendations like this. read more

Dr. Loul created 6 beautiful veneers for my upper front teeth, and the results are amazing. Getting back my smile and my confidence are priceless, and I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Dr. Loul and his team. I am sad to say that, after 25 years, I will be changing dental offices. Dr. Cowan and his hygienist Sonia were wonderful, but things are not the same now that Dr. Loul bought the practice. I was very disappointed by the unprofessionalism of his two hygienists, both of whom made catty remarks about Sonia. I'm a captive audience in their chairs, why would I want to hear them gossip about someone who isn't even there to defend herself? At my last cleaning 2 weeks ago, the new hygienist went on and on about how my teeth are in terrible condition, I have significant bone loss, and the ligaments holding my teeth in place are so weak that my teeth are in danger of falling out. She said all that before she even looked in my mouth. She talked me into getting x-rays I didn't want, and then claimed my bone grew back, the ligaments somehow healed themselves, and my teeth are in great shape. It seemed to me that she didn't know what she was talking about. When she finally got around to cleaning my teeth, it was the most painful cleaning I've ever had. On top of all that, I've never even met Dr. Loul even though he took over about 2 years ago. Kim in the front office is still there and wonderful, but in my experience the quality of care has gone downhill and I just can't go there any longer. read more
