Louis Geigerman overcharges for cookie cutter services. He lacks professionalism, and is a horrible communicator.

From the beginning, there was a complete lack of communication and follow-through. I was repeatedly left in the dark about my case status and often had to reach out multiple times just to get basic updates. At one point, a week before Thanksgiving, the attorney called me upset because I had been asking for updates--then claimed she had sent an email about needing a newspaper for service by publication. When I mentioned I'd look for the email, she backtracked and admitted it was never sent and asked for forgiveness. That alone made me question the honesty of the firm. Her paralegal Jazmine was also incredibly unprofessional. After I gave her all the information she needed for the newspaper, she failed to follow through. Then later that same day, after I made contact with the newspaper and told her I had already contacted the newspaper myself Jazmine asked me *not to tell the attorney* because she was afraid she'd get in trouble. Court was set for 4/14/25, and at 9:37 a.m.--just 23 minutes before the 10 a.m. hearing--I received a call from an attorney I had never spoken to. She informed me she would be representing me in place of Attorney Daniels and admitted she wasn't familiar with my case. She was asking last-minute questions about documents that should've been long submitted. To make matters worse, I paid in full at the start and was assured my divorce would be finalized within 3 months. It's now about to be a full year, and not only is my case unresolved, but a month before my next court date, I received an email on Friday 5/30/25 at 5:23 p.m. saying that the attorney was withdrawing from my case. Despite all their mishandling of my case and the lack of professionalism, I was still willing to pay additional fees just to ensure I had proper legal representation and could finally get this divorce finalized. That offer was ignored--and instead, they just dropped me right before my hearing. This firm constantly miscommunicated internally, missed deadlines, and handled my very personal and serious situation with extreme negligence. I do not recommend this law firm to anyone, especially if you are going through something traumatic and need reliable, compassionate, and professional legal support. If I could give 0 stars I would. I will be filing a grievance and be reporting to the Texas state bar.

The staff was disrespectful and unprofessional, with the owner, Gladys, even telling me to 'shut up' when I was simply trying to inform her about missing records of three months' worth of payments (presents) for my son during a period when we were not yet going through the court system. To make matters worse, during a court Zoom meeting, the owner herself laughed at me, despite the fact that I had paid for their services and was in desperate need of their help. If you're considering this firm for any case involving child custody, especially if you're a father, I strongly advise against it. You'll thank me later. God bless.

After looking into 3 firms (a local firm and two firms out of state including Pines), I had a good gut feeling about Pines. Eric and Ari gave me a great introduction and they and Charles made me feel supported and valued. The sense of relief I had, knowing these folks had my back, was indescribable. Charles understands the law and procedures in a way I or my family could never do on our own. To top it off, he was also very patient and understanding with me given my situation. Highly recommend.

Update : It's important to add that I was terminated as a client immediately after posting this…read morereview by the same law firm I hired to represent me in a retaliation case, which speaks volumes on its own. Original Review: Save yourself the stress and look elsewhere or learn to advocate for yourself. Pines Federal has been incompetent, rude, and a complete legal failure to represent me. I've paid over $20k, and we are only in the EEO complaint stage, yet I've had to draft my own affidavits, file my own complaints, gather my own evidence, and chase every unanswered email and call. When someone finally does respond, the tone is rude, dismissive, and condescending. In just one year, they've shuffled me through 3-4 attorneys, two of whom abruptly left with no transition plan. My most recent assigned attorney, Michael Kleinman, openly told me he didn't know which agency I worked for and said he wasn't going to bother catching up on my case. He even gave me incorrect information about next steps which was information I had already clearly stated in earlier emails. There is zero accountability anywhere in this firm -- not from the attorneys, not from management, and not from Mr. Pines himself. The chaos, turnover, and total lack of internal communication mirrors everything the other 1-star reviewers describe. And that's important: The 1-star reviews are consistent with each other AND with my experience. Clients reporting they had to prepare their own evidence, create their own strategy, and essentially represent themselves? That is exactly what has happened to me. The pattern is impossible to ignore. If you have a disability, be prepared to be dismissed, misunderstood, and disregarded by your own attorneys. Their lack of awareness or empathy is extremely concerning for a firm claiming to advocate for federal employees. When I finally spoke to Mr. Pines, he told me to find new representation because the firm is now "focusing more on disability retirement." That would've been helpful to know before they collected $20k while doing almost nothing of substance on my case. He even offered to help me find other representation however this was more of a " because we can't help you free feel to leave" but also don't expect a refund. His assistant Menucha also told me that Mr Pine's primary role at the firm is to strategize on cases and business matters which is not transparent when you sign the retainer agreement or go through their intake process. Despite stating he is on board with assisting his junior associate attorneys with strategy for your case, he most certainly will not. Please don't be fooled by Mr. Pines' gaslighting Yelp replies, where he claims that unhappy reviewers "never contacted them" or that Yelp "hides good reviews." I have called, emailed, followed up, escalated, and documented everything. My experience -- like the others -- is real, detailed, and backed by months ( nearly a year) of ignored communications. Unless you're filing for federal disability retirement or don't mind doing most of the leg work for your own case and paying them a small fortune ... look elsewhere. This firm is all marketing, no competence, and absolutely no accountability and the growing number of 1-star reviews proves it.
