I agree with the reviewer Cassidy C, I as well experienced the same exact issues. My initial consult seemed right and very helpful and the staff seemed pleasant. It was after that Mr. Schmidt became very insulting, and at one point to get what I needed he told me I could only "charm" my soon to be ex husband. He also only represented me on an uncontested filing but yet took favors from my ex the whole time. The decree had to be revised a few times here and there to get to completion and he never looked into my best interest in explaining to me changes once they were printed into attorney -law language, I trusted him to look out for only my best interest and he failed at that. He made certain requirements for the judge to grant the divorce for my ex and I to complete, and when I fulfilled my parenting class requirement he then said oh well its ok if your ex didn't now. Last but not least on the hearing date he was in the wrong court room. Their were monitors placed outside the court rooms with docket #'s and he stayed in the wrong one, making me look like a fool, and then I had to try and track him down thru his staff at his office. Please, I recommend you do not hire him for anything, you want your money well spent on an attorney that is looking out for you, during a time that is hard and emotional to get thru, and as a woman not to feel belittled or insulted. Their are many other attorneys in the area that will represent you and only care for your best interest. read more

I hired Mr. Schmidt for my uncontested divorce, and I am very pleased with his service and his staff. The initial consultation was very informative, and I left the office knowing exactly what to do and what to expect. I hired him a couple of weeks later and my first meeting with him as my lawyer went great. He made me feel comfortable and even gave me advise that my dad would have given me if he was close. I wanted my divorce to be as friendly as possible, so I was very agreeable with my spouse, and Mr. Schmidt guided me through some areas that I needed to be firm on, and explained better options for me and my children. He did it in a way that I didn't feel I was pressured to do something I didn't want to, but to do it better informed about what I should do having my children's best interest in mind. He seemed to be a family person and a Christian, and I really liked that even on my court day, he was cheering me up and helping me see the future with a positive attitude. I felt he cared about my wellbeing and not only about his financial gain with my case. read more

While I can't vouch for the other reviewer on this site, I will say that this law office has resources on their website that has helped me make a decision to retain Vilyus Marilyn Gale as my attorney in my child custody case involving children "SAPCR". I also would like to add that I do appreciate any attorney that is honest, upfront, and blunt even if it isn't exactly what I want to hear. They are experienced and usually know how these cases turn out and how the judge will rule and what the opposing attorney will argue. Do your research and choose the attorney that has your rights and your child's best interest at heart.
