Best gynecologist out there. I drive over an hour from my university in Winchester just for him. I wouldn't have it any other way.

I was a loyal patient of Capital Women's Care for over 13 years, but what was once an exceptional…read moreexperience has turned into the most distressing medical care I have ever received. After my recent appointment, I would strongly caution any woman considering this practice. Under Dr. Gonzales, my first two pregnancies were handled with outstanding care. He was compassionate, attentive, and made me feel seen and heard. Even with a very difficult first delivery, his team supported me through it, and my second delivery was smooth and complication free. I trusted this practice completely. After his passing and the transition of the practice, everything changed. During my third pregnancy with Dr. Melnick, I felt ongoing pressure toward a C-section based on uncertain size estimates, despite additional testing at my own expense. During labor, I experienced what I can only describe as coercion. I was told, "Do you want your baby to die?" in a highly vulnerable moment. My husband and family were present, and we all felt emotionally blackmailed into agreeing to surgery, even while nursing staff encouraged continuing toward a vaginal delivery. It was one of the most traumatic experiences of my life. That C-section was over six years ago, which is widely considered a safe amount of time to attempt a vaginal delivery again, making the continued pressure in my current pregnancy even more concerning. I returned due to location and my preference to deliver at Prince William Hospital. Initially, Grace Artrip and Dr. Lawson were empathetic and supportive of a plan to attempt a vaginal delivery if I went into labor naturally. However, my appointment with Dr. Afram was completely unacceptable. He was dismissive, interrupted constantly, and showed no empathy for my prior trauma. He pushed aggressively for a scheduled C-section and demanded I sign an agreement committing to surgery if I did not go into labor by 39 weeks. When I asked what would happen if I refused, he said he would "fire" me as a patient. The situation escalated to the point where I requested another staff member present. Even then, he continued to interrupt and belittle me. The office manager did her best to de-escalate and support a productive conversation, but he continued his behavior. As he stood in the doorway, he told me he was "not a hairdresser" and "not in customer service," in an intimidating tone. When I said I would leave a review, he responded that he did not care and I could do what I want. I have never felt so disrespected in a medical setting. While some staff members are clearly trying to provide compassionate care, they deserve a more professional and respectful environment as well. After 13 years, it is heartbreaking to say this practice no longer reflects the level of care, compassion, or professionalism it once did. Patients deserve to feel safe, respected, and supported in their medical decisions, and that has not been my experience here.

PA Erin Larsen has extensive endocrine experience at Georgetown University Medical. I not only received a thorough annual exam, but, as I had thyroid cancer and subsequent surgery months ago, PA Larsen knew of possible future concerns unaware to me. She is an excellent diagnostician.

I know I am not the only woman who doesn't circle dates and the only one who was not back on a regular schedule after nursing her second child. I had really wanted to keep this practice. I had liked the fact they are all women...but REALLY! Then when I did go in and saw a nurse she rushed me out without addresing any of my concerns. I hear doctor Ng and Liao are much better! I called this office about a month ago to get a yearly appointment. They seem to be booked up so…read morefast so expect at least a month wait. I made an 8:00am appointment because I anticipated having to work the same day. I am a new patient so I arrived 15 minutes early to fill out paperwork that I expected to have to fill out. Come to find out they open at 8:00. Why would you make an appointment at 8:00 if you didn't expect me to want to be seen at that time?. The lights weren't even all the way on as I awkwardly waited for the receptionist. Once I filled out my paperwork I was seen fairly quickly and the Doctor was actually really great. She was super informative and great bedside manner. Due to her being so helpful I will return in the future for my womanly appointments.

Beware this place is dangerous. Currently 20 weeks pregnant with my third child.I saw a midwife…read more(without my consent btw) who told me just yesterday that it was my responsibility to follow up on my diagnoses online. I received this feedback from her when I alerted her of my concerns that it took It took over a month to get urine sample results back. After following up twice and receiving assurance that the pain I was feeling was "pregnancy pains". I let it go. Imagine my disbelief when I got a call over a month later to find that a prescription had been filled for a UTI. I was confused and furious. Looking at other reviews this is the actually pretty normal for them to ignore patients and not give results in a timely manner. The midwife that I saw said she honestly took months to review ultrasounds and even longer to review lab results. I was SHOCKED that she said this with SUCH confidence. I was also told on this visit for the very first time that its important to know where the incisions from my cesarean were made in my uterus since I was interested in a vbac. How am I just now hearing this information at 20 weeks when the risk is a uterine rupture? I missed my down syndrome screening and she made sure that the blame was not on them. That was my fault too .... and am "behind" on my visits. I havent received a single ultrasound since I have been to this place....What a nightmare... I am so excited to be going back to my previous obgyn who now takes my insurance !!! Stay away from this place.
