As you walk in, there is always a strong smell of bacon. It's a little over powering for me, I'd rather the smell of coffee or toast. This isn't really the station fault it comes from a coffee shop within the station. I will review the coffee shop separate.
The place is reasonable clean, I have used this station for as long as I can remember and I can't ever remember any of the staff smiling at me, or being that helpful.
They do have toilets, and you can't smell them from outside the door, but I would have to be very desperate to use them.
There is no lift access and but only flight of steep steps to reach the platform, once your on the platform there is a few old benches to sit on and a waiting room that is colder than outside with a strong smell of urine!
overall the station could do with a makeover it's no jubilee line station.
I have given two stars as even though I haven't had the best things to say about the station without it my commute to work wouldn't be as easy, so even if it is run down and a bit smelly, I need loughton underground station in my life! read more
