I have a child that has a lot of anxiety and it was recommended that we seek out a therapist who works with that kind of kid. He has been receiving cbt for about a year now and we have seen a huge difference in the way that he handles things that used to make him very nervous. I think that because they gave him real things he could do, instead of just talking about his feelings, he now knows that when he gets into a situation, he has something he can try to make himself less anxious. I give his counselor a lot of credit. It is hard to get a teenage boy to talk about anything with more than one word at a time!

Ghosted for my 30min consultation appointment. I received 2 email confirmations for my consultation…read moreyet, when it was time for my appointment I did not receive a call (or any communication). I finally called the number provided in the email and left a voicemail. Someone reached back out via text asking how they could help (?!). I sent them screenshots of my appointment and asked if they had a record...still have not heard back from them. How disappointing (and frustrating) that a company who's purpose is to help people, doesn't even respond to them or acknowledge their appointment.

I had to reach out many times when my son did not hear back or he forgot or whatever and it just got to be stressful on us. It was very unprofessional and disappointing all around.

It has been almost a year since I stopped seeing her although, I still feel angry over her treatment of me and her therapeutic techniques. I wanted to let people know of my concerns so they can avoid the emotional turmoil that I experienced. I hate to say it, but it was almost like emotional abuse. For a vulnerable individual, seeking therapy, her therapeutic techniques are very inappropriate and can cause more damage to your well-being. I still mention the horrible treatment that this therapist gave me to my friends and current therapist. I strongly encourage you to reconsider seeing Theresa, as there are so many great therapists out there. Many of her techniques violate the NASW Code of Ethics, and put her at risk of losing her LCSW license.
