I attended various performances here for the music school, and was fortunate enough to recently attend an opera performance. The acoustics are very nice, and the first floor offers a wonderful view of the stage even from the back. The staff are very friendly and the ticket buying process was very easy. They scanned our tickets at entry with a QR code which was convenient. I would love to attend another opera or musical performance here. The UH choirs are also excellent and it is a pleasure to see them perform here.

I had the privilege of being one of the singers brought in to augment the university chorus. It was the last time I got to sing with Shaw who died in 1999. I found it a great pleasure to watch him coax the kids to produce a musical whole that was much more than the sum of the individual performers. The hall itself is wonderful. Small and intimate with only 800 seats, it still has a state-of-the art stage which can handle the biggest and most complex operatic productions. The small hall doesn't overtax the still-developing voices of the student singers in UH's music program. It also is a great venue for orchestra, choral and chamber music concerts. The ceiling in the hall features a work of art in the shape of a huge lighted ring entitled the Stella Project. I've never seen anything else like it. Its concert series isn't quite as impressive (and free) as Rice's but features some performances by Da Camara and Ars Lyrica in addition to student and faculty productions. To get here, take the Cullen exit off of I-45 and then UH exit 16.

A couple out on the back porch talking and a couple in the lounge area when we got there. It's definitely a chill spot. They gift shop area is so cute and has lots of fun stuff from whimsical decor to notebooks to skeeter repellent for your own porch. It's very cute! I got the fall special Caramel Pecan Hollow. It's very coffee forward and i normally like that but this coffee is a bit on the tangy side. Some people like that but it's not my cups of tea, or should I say coffee. The quiche had a good flavor but since it was rewarded in a microwave it was kind of soggy. I highly recommend a toaster oven to rewarm. It would be superb then. My sister got the banana bread late. It was good but again. The coffee itself is a tangy coffee so she said it tasted old to her. The cashier and the barista were really sweet and both welcomed us and told us to have a good day with smiles. This has been a coffee spot on my must visit list and I'm glad I made it out.

They do have a drive thru, merch, and handmade wind chimes, soaps, jewelry and so much more. Sadly I was not impressed with the customer service as they were bickering amongst each other. The menu also was impossible to find online. They don't have many crafted drinks so it leaves you to craft your own, a little daunting to those who don't know much about coffee. I ordered a decaf coffee for my husband and was charged for a latte (sugar free syrup was a $1 extra crazy!) up charged for half and half plus dairy free options. I had to ask for an extra shot of espresso in my drink (paradise on earth) even though I ordered half sweet it was still sweet. Parking is hard to come by there 3 regular spots and 1 handicap. There's things that can be improved but it's a decent coffee place. Personally wouldn't recommend

Smart Core Labs has been a game changer for our family. My oldest son has been attending since…read moreSmart Core Labs volunteered at an Alvin ISD Advanced Academics event to get kids excited about robotics and coding. Hamid's support of STEM in our community has been incredible, including donations and involvement with events for both Pearland ISD and Alvin ISD. My son has worked closely with Mr. Abdoul and Mr. Dan at both the Pearland and Manvel locations, and they've helped him grow tremendously in his coding and AI knowledge. He now breezes through his AP Computer Science classes and genuinely looks forward to his sessions at Smart Core Labs. Recently, my younger son expressed an interest in cybersecurity and coding, and they even crafted a custom course to keep him engaged and challenged. What stands out most is how passionate Hamid and the instructors are about what they do. The focus is truly on teaching STEM and helping students grow, not just treating families like a monthly payment. They have even offered free programs when they believed students would benefit, which really shows their heart for education and the community. They are also very flexible with class schedules and consistently offer programs when kids are out of school, which is a huge help for working parents who want a safe, enriching place for their children to be. I really can't say enough wonderful things about Smart Core Labs. I highly recommend them and wish them many, many years of continued success!
