Update 3/6/16: Despite the negative experience I was willing to give Lotus another chance. I sent in an order for fliers for a community benefit event, and rather than filling the order, I got a really passive aggressive message from an owner/employee (Edward DeRusha) who had obviously seen my review, basically refusing my service. I said "Ok...so do you not want my business?" No response. I would say I was surprised but I really am not-- this place is completely unprofessional. I would have easily altered my original review if they would have done it right and with any sort of ethics this time. Stay far away. Changing my 3 stars to 1. 10/13/15-- Really disappointed I was charged $15 for sending in a word doc rather than PDF. A simple call or email asking for me to send in something different would have been great. I understand that it was my error, but customer service goes a long way. These were just regular, black and white type documents. $18 to do something that would have cost me $2 to do somewhere else. just go to minuteman press if you need something done in Brattleboro because I've had much better communication with them. These guys printed a WAY overpriced order without confirming it ($50 for what Kinkos would have charged $25, better quality not included), and then threatened to sue us if we did not pick it up. No one ever placed an order, we called repeatedly asking only if it were POSSIBLE for this order to be completed by 9am the following morning, and the girl on the phone kept saying she had to check back with her boss, who was unavailable. Finally, 20 minutes later, we called back to cancel and she said the order was complete, and they would file a lawsuit within 2 days if we did not pick up and pay. UNBELIEVABLE. read more

I needed two giclee copies of an old photo. I was told they'd cost $11.99 apiece. The ready call came two weeks later. I went in to pick it up and found a $30 charge for "typesetting" added to my bill. I asked what was "typeset", and was told that because the photo was larger than 8X10, that they had to do two scans and somehow join them. The clerk then said the person taking the work in should have told me (no kidding!)--but it was the same clerk, and he never mentioned any such fee at drop-off! Lotus occupies a niche that needs to be filled, but I found the lackadaisical treatment pretty annoying. Also, they're closed on weekends. read more

Lotus Graphics did not fulfill my order appropriately. Three different banners were ordered, and two out of the three received were duplicates. When I came in to discuss my issue, Ed was immediately defensive. When they first tried to confirm the order with me, they had it wrong. They only sent me two proofs, giving me a duplicate of one of the banners even though I sent them three different files with three different file names. Once I caught the mistake, I asked for a proof of the third that wasn't included and once I saw that it looked good I said to get all three printed. I decided to make revision to one of the other banners, so I said to hold off momentarily on the printing. The names of the files were "banner inside" "banner outside" and "banner outside 2". I provided a file called "banner outside REV" as a revision to "banner outside". He seemed to think that the revision was to "banner outside 2". If it was, it would have been "banner outside 2 REV". Instead he just gave me two copies of the same banner. He made the mistake of assuming that the revision was to the banner that he missed in the first place. I've worked with newspapers, ad agencies, television stations, and cable companies for years and when I provide them a revision for a file, the replace it according to the filename. I've never had this issue with any of them. He instead accused me of expecting him to read my mind and made another comment that I didn't have a proper grasp of the English language. If there is confusion, call the customer to confirm. He did not. It's sad because I've given him almost all of my business for my printing needs for the almost three years I've been working in Brattleboro. From the beginning of this order they have been making mistakes, the kind that happen when you're either rushing through it or are just not paying attention. He will no longer receive my business. If you do decide to do business here, make sure to hold his hand throughout the transaction or you will have wasted your money and your time. read more

If I could give negative stars, I sure would! Customer service is horrible. I found them to be sarcastic, rude and very unprofessional. If a job cannot be completed on time then a potential customer should and does have the right to cancel the order. read more

I require large format drawings printed and when I do, I need them within an hour. I was in Vermont this week and needed a drawing printed to review a client's project. The prompt response and phone call was a refreshing change from the electronic abyss I experience while working with the chain stores in the Boston area. My order was complete within the hour versus 4-6 hours. read more

Very friendly and effective help in getting my stuff shipped out. For a fee, they will pack things in bubble wrap, etc., and make sure it is safely ready to go. This was very helpful for me, as I was able to just drop off my stuff and give the recipient's address, and they took care of the rest, with responsive follow up over the phone. I wish more businesses were so friendly and easy to deal with. read more
