Not the best, but works if you need a grab a cake on the way. For us its too much sugar and the cream is too heavy sometimes but the biscuit is always good so i guess it depends on the cake read more

My wife ordered a custom cake for our baby shower here. She chose this place because it's nearby and the price was reasonable. Since we're having another baby shower she wanted to get another cake from here but with a different theme. The first cake theme was Minnie mouse while the second cake theme is now teddy bear. The first tier will be vanilla with strawberry cream inside and the second tier will be chocolate with peach cream inside. When she did the Minnie mouse cake, it was a three tier cake and they delivered it to us. For our second baby shower, the cake will be two tier but they told us they only deliver for three tier cakes only. Our guest enjoy the first cake we had so I'm pretty sure they'll enjoy this teddy bear cake as well. read more

Lotus Bakery - Cake - Bakeries Near Me - San Fernando, California

We've visited Lotus Bakery a few times as we thought we'd try them out again since one of our friends recommended the bakery while our other friends redirected us to a different bake shop. Our last visit occurred on a Thursday. The bake shop was not busy. There were two ladies at the counter one was very friendly and welcomed us. She was on her way out. We ultimately purchased a sliced strawberry cake and 2 cake pops. We were looking into other pastries but nothing else appealed to us. The other associate didn't seem approachable so we didn't inquire about cakes and pastries. When she rang us up she didn't say anything nor provide a receipt. Basically we don't know how much each of the items cost. The strawberry cake was not fresh and it wasn't moist. It's probably several days old as well as the cake pops. Food coloring was leaking out of the cake pops so it's definitely several days old. We most likely won't come back here again and so glad we tried them out. read more

Ambiance, weak. Must have been a rough morning. I came in out of curiosity as my husband and I had just had breakfast across the street so I figured why the heck not, a dessert to top of our morning anniversary breakfast and both people working there looked so upset. I kind of wanted to walk out. I said good morning and nothing. ... anyway my husband was the one that pushed for a small something since we were already there and oh boy I regret it! I am a sucker for a fruit tart but this one was probably the worse I've ever had, one bite and you can tell the dessert was not fresh and kind of tasted bitter. It was very pretty but very nasty. I literally threw it away. Waste of $5 maybe a little more ... I'll stick to my Porto's fresh tarts from now on. Anyway; doesn't look like I went on a good day but I'm definitely not coming back here. Keep your overpriced things to yourself and you may want to check for freshness, it's not a good quality when your product is not representative of your market. read more

I freakin LOVE Lotus bakery! I've been coming here since I was a kid. Their frosting is just my favorite, very light and not too sweet. They always use fresh fillings in their cakes. I've ordered cakes here for my hubby, my kids and my Dad... they never disappoint! They also have a variety of cookies & pastries. They also carry birthday candles, utensils, cake toppers and disposable cake plates. Definitely give this place a try for your next celebration!! read more

Looking for a bakery to purchase a pie and found this neighborhood gem. Lotus Bakery does not sell pies but I did see some delicious cakes on display. The ladies greeted me immediately and provided an overview of the desserts available. Well lit inside to see all the options. There were decadent wedding cakes to individual slices. Also were tarts, cookies and puff pastries to enjoy. I ordered a chocolate mousse and vanilla cake with fresh strawberries. Both were light, fresh and tasty. Another bakery to add to the list for an event or just dessert. read more

Disgusting Cookies!! Stopped by to pick up a 1/2 dozen of their cookies last Friday afternoon. We chose a few coconut, butter sprinkles & walnut powdered. First bite I could not even swallow! WTH?!!!! Tasted rancid plastic. My daughter tried a different one & she was also mortified. If you have to spit it out that means it is beyond no bueno!! read more

Terrible experience. Worst bakery I've been to. I never leave reviews but I don't want what happened to me to happen to others. I ordered two cakes in the span of a week for two birthday celebrations. Both I asked for Tres Leches, and both times I received regular vanilla cake. It was dry and not Tres Leches. If you are looking for authentic Tres Leches cake, this is not the place. Truly, I only went here because they took card purchases. read more

Lotus Bakery has been a staple for family birthday cakes. Chiffon cake at Lotus Bakery is my favorite due to its softness and light buttercream sweetness. I called to place an order, and the lovely young lady on the phone was the absolute sweetest. She was honest about adding the color dye and also gave me suggestions about the kind of cake I was picturing and how it'd look better. Oh my god, when my girlfriend saw her cake, she LOVED IT. I bought a cake on april 16th, I ordered tres leches cake. When we sliced the cake it was vanilla. I thought okay fine it was a simple mistake. Another birthday celebration april 20th, I ordered tres leches AGAIN and specifically made sure to ask if they were sure the flavor was tres leches and they said yes. I bought my wedding cake from here about 6 years ago. Besides from being extremely reasonable in price the cake was perfectly spongey and gorgeously decorated. Fast forward and I need a cake for my mother's 50th birthday. Once again they do not disappoint! We got a small cake (more ceremonial than for serving to all guests) it was beautiful and delicious. My mom is a bit picky and they were very accommodating and made the cake just how we wanted. Apart from cakes they also have other pastries. Definitely recommend them! read more

I've always bought my cakes here, but this time I was very disappointed with my son's cake. The quality was not the same as before--the cake was extremely dry and fell apart as soon as I cut it. It's sad to see such a decline in quality from a bakery I've always trusted. Unfortunately, I will not be returning. Unfortunately I spent $240 on a cake the we had to throw away because none of my guests liked the cake. read more

HI, I have been enjoying Lotus bakery for 35 years. I no longer live in California, but every time I visit I make sure I go and get their strawberry whipped cream cake, last Time i was there I purchased 4 cakes, I appreciate that the new owner did not change the recipes the cakes are still as good as they were when I first tasted them. When I worked at the YWCA down the street the only cake I would eat when the parents would bring cake for the children's birthday was from Lotus Bakery. rbrown Valenti read more

The cakes are always fresh and they have soft bread. I don't like overwhelmingly sweet cakes or 3 leches that leak. Even the chocolate cakes care good. The staff for the most part is really understand and the customer service is always nice. There's usually different kind of music and a calm ambience. read more

Excellent service, excellent product. Clean, tasty, great presentation. Five starsthey do custom orders too. Been coming here about 37 years

First I would like to start off with something has changed within this establishment, my family has been coming here for years so I know the quality that use to come with this bakery. As you can see from the first photo is what I requested for my daughter's birthday. I was quoted for the same exact thing. When my partner picked it up on his way home I started crying from the stress of recieving something blank. I had to return to the shop however the party was starting so I anticipated what their solution was going to be and if I needed a backup plan. They took their time to attend to me and see what the issue was and finally when they got to me and offered to fix the cake they took some time. I had sent in the photo I wanted with the deposit a while back and they asked me again when it should have been in their file. As stressed I was I told them it was fine to choose the first photo. As I was waiting there was a mix of other dissapointed customers and regular customers. There was many employees in the back some staring mad and working slow. When they brought back my cake I was very disappointed in the quality of the cutout as it was very choppy but I knew the party I was hosting had started I decided to mention it to the manager then and there and just leave. I will never recommend this spot in this new time the old Lotus was all about quality from their service, taste, and especially design. It's very unfortunate that the shop has a classy look however with this experience it gives the shop a dull vibe. read more

Used to love this place as the cake used to be so light and moist and just the best spongelike cake. Been a customer since the 90's!!! Today 4/2/23, we bought a strawberry/banana round cake and as I was cutting it, I noticed it was immediately falling apart. The cake was so dry and could not even be eaten with a fork. There were areas with no filling and the strawberry fillings and banana fillings were not evenly spread throughout. My photo shows a slice placed in a bowl that just fell to crumbs! Wondering what happened to their recipe... read more

I have been coming here for years and never written a review about it, so here it goes I feel like no one can top their cakes always delicious and very nice, I get my whole families birthday cakes from here. I've gotten a lot of custom cakes and everything. The only thing I would change here is the staff unsure why as to why they always seem so unhappy to be there and always have the biggest attitude for no reason, the owner however is a great man! And super talented I mean the cakes 100/10! The inside is small but full of a lot of sweets and cook stuff you can get for the cakes! I will always keep coming here because I love the cakes I definitely recommend the place, the staffs attitude is only a small inconvenience read more

I have purchased a few cakes for baby showers here, decided to get one for a baby shower today. When we discussed the cake she told me what she wanted. White cake, strawberry filling with buttercream frosting..NOT WHIPPED CREAM icing. I said I would take care of the cake as I know a great bakery to use. So, I travel from North Hollywood to San Fernando on Thursday (5 days before I need it) talk to the woman at the desk. I was VERY clear what I wanted, paid in full, $57.15 for 1/4 sheet cake. I told her about the frosting, and what to write on it. I got there to pick it up, no writing on the cake, they came out to write on it, ok fine, I'm off to Calabasas for this shower. Cake time comes around, cut and serve it and I see a strange look on her face. I asked if everything was ok..she said "this is whipped cream frosting" I tasted it, yep, no buttercream. I asked a few more people, yep, whipped cream icing. I am so disappointed. Driving home, I decide to call. I spoke to Alex, the "manager" excuse after excuse, I ended up telling him that he doesn't give 2 shits about this so have a nice day, I hung up. I get a call back from him, telling me he checked with his baker and it was in fact buttercream and he helped finish the cake so he knows. Well, sorry Alex, we tasted it, it was NOT BUTTERCREAM. THEN I get a text from him ( WTAF) telling me "after investigation, it was in fact right" I can produce 15 people to tell you no it is not in fact right, so take your $60.00 cake and put it where the sun don't shine and I will NEVER use this bakery or refer anyone else there, like I have in the past. read more
