Normally, places like this that sell extremely non-essential home decorating objects seem to make a point of being friendly to induce you to buy something. Not these guys. Too bad. It would be a nice place to buy thing for your home or gifts for others. The trinkets and potpourri were artfully displayed. Smells great. Cute scarves. I don't know if it's because I pulled up in a truck? (which would, by the way, rule out half the people around here) or because I was just wearing jeans (guess they don't recognize $250 jeans from the Denim Bar) - and they assumed I didn't have money to spend? No clue. I wouldn't have considered it overpriced at first - but after the passive-aggressive treatment, you don't want to give your money to people who are rude and condescending to you - so $29 starts to seem too much to pay for a coaster set or olive tray and bad customer service.

The girls that work there are super fun, funny, knowledgeable people who love chatting with anyone who walks in the doors. You can tell this is the kind of place where regulars stop just to chat and check up on what's new. Besides the customer service being great, they have anything you could ever need - ANYTHING - in super unique stuff that everyone I've gifted to has loved, and there's a price point for every budget. I never leave empty-handed, and I'm always happy with my purchase. Word on the street is they do design services too, and from the store displays, you can totally tell! Everything is beautiful, seasonal, fresh, and new, so maybe design is next on my list from them. All in all, the BEST find in Southern Maryland. Will be back again surely... Probably this week. :)

Like many of its neighbors, Be Home does not disappoint! This store features furniture, lamps, artwork and other home decor. Some items are very traditional while other items are more transitional. Regardless of the style, everything is quality and classy. Be Home is definitely the type of place that you'll want to keep checking out as their inventory turns over and they offer many seasonal items. Also, it's a great place to shop for inspiration or a gift. Finally, the staff is friendly and attentive but not overbearing.

Most recently I dashed out while my mom watched my 8 month old to get a hostess gift for our family friend. I was greeted as soon as I entered by perhaps the owner (a friendly blonde woman). I told her I was looking for specific gifts (cocktail napkins, coasters, and a candle) and she showed me where said merchandise was located in each of the rooms. The store is cozy and inviting, as the name suggests, and is full of beach themed goods for home. It's a great spot for picking out a quick hostess gift, or a clever birthday gift (think cute wooden signs, pillows, cheese boards etc). The store isn't cluttered though it is full of options. I found some beach chair coasters (heavy and substantive), and a lovely candle that had an orange vanilla fragrance and helped feed a hungry child in South America with its purchase. I tried to use my Target card but stupidly didn't realize that it only works at Target.com or in Target stores (I don't have the master card that works everywhere). Oops. I only brought an AMEX but she kindly let me use that. I would have had to go back to our beach house and get my other card. I will be back next time I am in town looking for a gift. Friendly service and an inviting shopping atmosphere are a plus!

If you are familiar with the Southern Maryland (Waldorf) area, you will find this store where Toys r Us use to be. Years ago the DMV had a few Eurocentric furniture stores such as SCAN and StoreHouse. Unfortunately, these stores closed their doors for good in the early 2000s. Luckily, we now have a rebirth of this awesome euro style furniture in our backyard. There was so much to consider, I need another visit to truly separate my wants and needs. Upon entry, I was greeted by a nice sales person (Nadia). She gave me information then allowed me to shop in peace. Please ask for Nadia during your visit. I've attached several photos to give you a visual of how unique their furniture options are when compared to other stores. Most of the Christmas decorations were still up but I'm curious to see what they have during the rest of the year. When the woman behind the counter found out we were from out of town she suggested a place to stay overnight and some local restaurants which was right up our alley.
