I was excited there was a Taiwanese food truck in town and wanted to see what they had to offer…read more The grand opening was yesterday and when I arrived at 2:30pm there were already a good number of people hanging out. More on that later. While some dishes were authentic, others like the variations of bao were fusion dishes. I mixed things up and ordered all 3 baos, popcorn chicken and an iced black tea. Altogether took about 22 minutes to get my food whereas my friend who ordered before me got his in less than 5 minutes. Other people who ordered after me got their food first and even ordered some of the same things! While all this was going on, the people at the window kept calling some guy named Oliver to the pickup window and kept handing him food. I later deduced this was more of a friends and family event as I saw people go to the rear of the food truck and walking away with food. A number of people even made repeated trips back there which delayed others from getting their orders in a timely manner. Aside from this, the food was tasty but attention to detail was lacking as 2 out of the 3 baos were haphazardly assembled. The beef patty bao was surprisingly excellent followed by the fried chicken one. I'd pass on the pork bao as it fell apart when I tried to eat it. The popcorn chicken had a ton of salt bombs too while other pieces were bland. Going back to Taiwan throughout my childhood as well as my adult years have shown how night markets keep tradition and elevate dishes at the same time. For the cost of food I did not get my money's worth and could go elsewhere to get Taiwanese food sans fusion stuff. I will still give it another shot as this deserves a second chance. To answer the question that is the name of the business, no I am not full but will wait till next time to see how things pan out. Now now, don't go abusing this policy... besides, they'll probably recognize you ;) Every time I come by, the same sweet older fellow is working, and he's always very friendly without being pushy, and will help you figure out what you're looking for. The store is small, with a work area in the back, but they carry a range of prepackaged gifts, some local art, an area where you can pick your own variety of chocolates, and t-shirts so you can spread the good word! So why hesitate, knowing that your first (free) taste of delicious locally-made chocolate is waiting? Recommendations: My favorites of the spicy varieties have to be the spicy mint and spicy lime tequila chocolates, and my mild favorites are the orange truffles and (I think it's seasonal?) strawberry lemonade daisies. My Cupcake Garden came to my wife's 40th birthday party this past weekend and really stole the…read moreshow. It was my first time to every use a food truck and it was kind of a last minute decision to pull the trigger on it because i didn't want to put money out on something i hadn't tried before and end up being disappointed, but i have to say, Pamela the owner was super helpful and patient as i got up to speed on how it all works, and it didn't hurt to see that they had won the award for best dessert in the recent Texas food truck competition. The cupcakes were great - really top notch. The flavor that they won the contest with, strawberry on strawberry, was ridiculously good. So was the cookies and cream, and there is one with caramel frosting on it that seems like it is pretty much 100% genuine salted caramel on top. Completely satisfied with the cupcakes - delicious! Best though, was that Pamela and her partner (sorry can't remember his name) were super friendly and thoughtful. When i told my wife there was something out front and everybody was following her out of the house, the truck was parked out front and there was a big screen on the side of the truck that read Happy Birthday with her name on it - they also had a candle to light and put on her cupcake while we all sang to her. It was just really cool, and the little touches like that made it really memorable. I honestly didn't even remember mentioning my wifes name, but Pamela had noted it and made the display - very nice. My wife loved it, our guests loved it, and I've had numerous comments on how great the truck, the people, and the cupcakes were, so thanks Pamela and My Cupcake Garden for helping make the party a huge success!

One time were at a private event and so the cupcakes were free. They came in plastic containers and were good on the day of and the day after. all that to say they kept very well. We've also the seen the truck all over Dallas at fairs and festivals. The cupcakes themselves were great. My favorite was the chocolate cream ones. The frosting was not too sweet and the presentation was great. The service was very friendly and I hope to continue to bump into this truck.
