I hardly ever write reviews, but must this time. Hopefully it helps someone avoid my experience. My wonderful accountant for many years retired last year and sold his practice to CPA nerds. It was bad timing for me as I had the most important tax year of my career. My needs were turned over to CPA nerds and I provided them with detailed information on my tax needs. Most of the information I sent was completely ignored. There was almost no communication. In fact, I made a large tax payment in April they told me to make (via email), I documented it and reported it to CPA nerds but it was NOT included in my tax filings. I called multiple times before filing my taxes requesting a review of my return as I knew it was wrong. I finally reached my old accountant days before my tax extension expired and he fixed what he could, including adding in the large tax payment I made in April 2023. I went from owing over $30,000 to a $10,000 return! I was so grateful he corrected most of the errors, but he couldn't fix everything. He didn't have access on his end to the other things he needed to correct. (I was charged for his time to correct my return, which I gladly paid as he deserved to be compensated, but you can imagine my frustration at having to pay someone to correct what should have been done for a fee I had already paid to CPA nerds). After tax filings when I started to get some response (after multiple requests) from CPA nerds I received my detailed records on what was reported and used for my tax calculations. After reviewing it myself I learned that over $50,000 in business expenses that I reported were not included in my tax return, costing me over $20,000. These expenses INCLUDED FEES I PAID TO CPA NERDS for my business return! They didn't report their own fees as business expenses! I even listed them on a spreadsheet I sent to them! Since receiving the data and realizing how much my corrected tax return was still off I asked if they would amend my return. There has been no response from CPA nerds to help me. I was advised by other professionals to hire a new accountant and file an amended return at my expense. I don't think I could have had a worse experience at a worst time. This is a terrible CPA group. Stay away. read more

absolutely AWEFUL! 15 months and $8000 later and my tax returns are STILL not done. All I get are emails with a "thank you for your patience" message... well enough is enough! read more

Absolutely awful experience! After our long-time tax person retired, Lotito & Lazzara was recommended to us. We made our appointment and showed up only to to find out it was a drop off service, which we were not told on the phone. I assumed for the price they charged we would be getting personal service. They promised a two-week turn around, which we thought was excessive, but agreed to. At week three my husband called to inquire about our return and was told we would be moved to the top of the pile. After a month we gave them an ultimatum and magically our taxes were done. I have to wonder how many people had access to our personal financial and account information during that time. I assumed only the person we made the appointment with would have access, but apparently that is not the case. The return goes through several stages with different people. I picked up our taxes and a note was included to review it. I'm not sure all the financial info on the specific forms is correct (otherwise I would have done my taxes myself), but my business name and education info is wrong. Never once did anyone reach out to ask us questions or apologize for the long preparation time. All communication was initiated by us. I have no idea if the taxes are being filed correctly or not. I do not feel very confident. They also unstapled all my carefully organized documents, including last year's return, and did not put them back together. Last year's tax documents were returned out of order...ugh! Original receipts were discarded and photocopies were made. Not happy about that either. In the end, they milked us for $430. That's double what we paid our tax preparer in years past. Definitely not worth it. It's a one and done for us! read more

I Usually do not right reviews but considering I am paying these people over $200 for a simple tax return preparation., I would assume that would be a simple task I was wrong this was the most complex tax return I have ever done I would have been better off doing it myself I have never been late for taxes ever, with them I am. We are on are forth week and the taxes have not even been filled yet I do not recommend anybody to them. read more
