Yes, Top Ramen, not exactly a luxury experience.. The only saving grace? There was no line to get in, and they had self-serve alcohol. I don't drink, so that did nothing for me, but if that's your thing it's there. Overall, not exactly a lounge experience I'd ever want to repeat.

Since I was 1st class, I was the first person on my flight to deplane and to get into the lounge. When I approach the hostess at the front, she gave me a hard time about whether or not I could have entry into the lounge. And she told me that I could not get into the lounge unless I had some type of admirals club pass. And I told her OK well can I purchase that pass? And then she said yes. Her name was Yaara. I purchased a pass in the lady next to her came to see me a little bit later and said "Ma'am did you just pay with your AMEX platinum card?" and I said, " Yes." Then, that more experienced woman let me know that she would be refunding me because I do have privileges into the admirals club lounge after all with my Amex Platinum Card. I thanked her and went on about my way to find a spot to settle in for 90mins. They had been open for at least 30 minutes and they were just putting food out when I arrived, which was strange. I figured that they'd already have the food out since they have been already opened 30 minutes. The food was decent. They had egg, white frittata's, potatoes, pork, sausage, oatmeal, bagels, toast, yogurt, and fruit. They also had espresso with Lavazza Expresso drink machines as well as drip coffee and other warm beverages. There was also one bar out of two that were open. The bar was pretty empty as no one was getting cocktails at 5:30 in the morning. I did see one patron go and get a cocktail. The staff seemed to be pretty tired that early in the morning and I noticed a lot of empty used plates scattered about the lounge around 6 o'clock. Those dirty plates stayed sitting in those areas until I left at 6:40a. The restroom was clean and tidy. The experience was good here, but I wish that they jad different food options. Also, more furniture that you can stretch out on and lay down on. After riding a redeye flight, you just wanna stretch your body out and get some sleep before your next flight. If you are paying $79 you expect a great experience.

Hot cocoa mixes are packaged. Espresso drinks and soda are machine made. They have a good selection of food. Today's food was Chipotle, which was tasty. They also offered whole fruit, chocolate chip cookies, donut holes, soup, cheese, grapes, loose banana chips, loose pretzels, and bags of potato chips. My husband spotted a lady making bagels to order. He chose a toasted bagel with cream cheese and smoked salmon. It was delicious! They had a large machine that would make you any kind of coffee you would like - we both had cappuccinos. It was a wonderful start for the day.

What I loved this time with the really robust dip bar --they had a spinach artichoke dip, they had tzatziki, they had beer cheese, they had hummus... and sometimes you just want to nibble while you sip. Zorona understood when I said I would like more orange juice than bubbles for my mimosa. It was perfectly balanced. The vibe was quiet and chill with everybody just getting ready for their flight flights without wanting to rush. This place is a wonderful oasis in the middle of bus to O'Hare. Don't miss it. My wife, her mom, and I travel to Chicago quite a bit from Los Angeles, taking Delta. Till this year, there was no direct flight, meaning we had to take the earliest flight to a hub, so breakfast was the meal that the Delta Lounge served when we arrived. However, this time, we were able to take the last direct flight to LA, resulting us coming to the lounge around mid-afternoon when they were serving lunch. It was OK, with similar food like other lounges. But, there were two big differentiators on this visit: the Chicago style hot dog stand was open, and I was able to eat two fully dragged-through-the-garden dogs (though the attendant couldn't tell me if the wieners were from Vienna). And the flight to LAX was going to use gate M11, which is the gate directly connected to the lounge (so you can enter the plane directly from the lounge). Unfortunately, the flight was delayed about an hour, and that seemed to mess up the set-up (e.g. being allowed to get into the jet bridge before being sent back because of a miscommunication). But they figured it out. There are places to sit close to the gate entrance, and the exit from the lounge exits directly onto jet bridge (past the point where passengers waiting at the normal gate would enter)...thus it is definitely worth going through the lounge to enter faster, if possible.
