I didn't even know you could get these any more, I had to have one after I saw one kid with a half red, half blue slushy. Ah childhood. How I miss thee! It's good to see old traditions never die! Sandra's seems to be a half grocery shop / local newsagent as much as a bakery, though they certainly do that right, the store handily also sells a few newspapers, confectionery, various tobacco, light grocery and a few magazines. I'm sure it's a great place for the locals as a one stop shop. I have to give brownie points for the slushies too! Happy me!

Crispy bacon, grated cheddar that tastes like a good strong cheddar and not plastic, fresh salad, chicken, turkey and proper off the bone ham. Prices are very competitive given how fresh and tasty the sandwiches are at around £3 each and the French sticks are enormous. The cabbage and bacon was absolutely delicious. Their chicken was a big hit with many of the surrounding tables ordering them so we had to try them. The absolute best part of the meal was the bakery items. Their salted caramel cake was to die for. It was three layered and super fresh. The pumpkin roll was also absolute perfection. Belfast Baking Company is located on the main Gilnahirk road, near the Maxol station and beside Corries Farm Butchers. Parking is tight in the area but it's worth taking your time and popping by if you can. There's a few tables and chairs outside the branch to site and indulge in some treats and inside you'll find all the things you'd expect from the Northern Ireland Bakery of the year, 2016. The Cherryvalley branch is stylish, well stocked and the staff were very helpful. Samples were provided too of a few items and I'll be heading back soon for some of their pecan pies as a result. I opted for some veda, baps and a few patisserie items but to be honest I couldn't bought one of everything as the presentation was stunning! Items are well packaged for travel too - top points here!
