We have been using this campground for several days at a time for the past three years or so when…read morewe come to the area to visit family. It was new, clean and well maintained. We just left after a weeklong visit over the July 4 weekend. We will not be back. The issues jump out at a visitor as you enter the campground past the keypad that used to open the gate and is now simply an ugly, twisted collection of metal pipe that looks like it was run over by a fully loaded eighteen wheeler at a high rate of speed. Besides being an eyesore, the gate no longer closes eliminating whatever security was provided by limited access campground. Once inside the gate, a visitor quickly realizes that Love's has also given up maintaining the roads. No visible evidence exists of the slightest effort to fill potholes which, for as little traffic as they get, are in awful shape. Maybe the campground management assumes that customers will replace damaged tires at its truck stop next door. The poor condition of the roads pales by comparison to the fact that the grass next to our campground had clearly not been mowed is several weeks. It's calf high, all weeds and will be a disaster after a few rain storms bring the bugs back. The attendant apologized for the condition of that piece of lawn and advised us that the lawn contractor's employees refused to cut it for "liability reasons," but would not advise the campground of what the liability reasons were specifically. Here's a thought for you management, Cancel the lawn mowing contract and replace the current contractor with one who will do what he is paid to do. If he has to lay off some of his non performing employees as a result, they can explain to their starving families why they won't mow the lawn. The unmowed lawn pales by comparison to the absence of a fresh water supply. When we initially set up on the site we noted that the water pressure was barely sufficient to force water through our 25 foot garden hose. We were told that ever since they had connected to city water the pressure had been a problem and was unteliable. It was a problem throughout the campground, we were advised, so there didn't seem to be much point in asking for another site. We decided to fill our 75 gallon fresh water tank to deal with this problem. It took well over an hour to fill the tank, but at least were were able to take showers. Subsequently efforts to add water to the fresh water tank were fruitless as we were unable to even get sufficient pressure to add more water to the tank. At one point the campground installed a pressure valve with a gauge on it and we were never able to get more that 15 psi out of the system. I get that the city isn't providing a functioning system, but for heaven's sake, deal with the problem. Tell the city to stuff its water system and reconnect to the well or whatever you were using before you connected to the city's supply and start providing your customers with the water you promise and charge for.

Rates increased but no upgrades were actually done besides using that money for maintenance of already broken malfunctioning things, that they are responsible for. The first camper across from office breeds dogs out of there & they leave feces soaked beds/blankets outside. The upgrades done were donated by campers, not the campground. Water smells like a rotten egg/ feces combination, & there is no water pressure, the electric is SO OLD it fried 2 of 3 of our A/C units in 2 Months, when it was admitted the main breaker didn't have enough pull for the power, power goes out frequently as well. Rec hall is never opened unless it's for a campground event. Pool Is dilapidated & falling apart, don't use the railings b/c they need to be re-anchored & actually turn & it's not always opened on time for the hours listed. The laundry house is falling apart b/c it's on cinder blocks & infested with bees & clothes will smell horrific, buy lots of laundry sanitizer. If you are on full hook up the septic hill frequently is over full as well, so you get the pleasure of listening to the alarm going off. Internet doesn't & hasn't ever worked. *Also don't attempt to go to managers camper & walk in fence, their dogs will bite you, also if you are across from them, they never shut their lights off including the 2 spotlights they drilled into a tree.... So it literally goes right through your windows.
